Chapter 10 - Is it too late now to say sorry?

Did Khushi love him? Shyam's words have been haunting him.

There was no denying they were both strongly attracted to each other. They had made a strong progress when he started flirting with her during Akash's pre-wedding rituals. In fact he also gifted her bangles, chose saree for her, helped her serve lunch to her neighbors and danced with her.

And how can he forget his name "A" written on her hand during Mehandi and explanation she gave saying her name also has A! Even though the A could have been written by mistake as she explained to his Di, her explanation to him was hilarious!! He couldn't help but laugh.

And to top it all off, he went ahead and kissed her pool side and challenged her to kiss him back... He was kind of sure she might not be able to meet the challenge... Though his heart wished she should and guess what? She dared to kiss him back and he had heard her heart beating so loud and clear for him!! All those were really sweet memories of her in his mind as if it all happened yesterday!

Then how did things go wrong?

He had clearly accepted in his mind that he had fallen in love with her! When Di encouraged him to express his feelings, he wanted to confess and sweep her off her feet.

But then her just one statement to Shyam asking to leave his Di and seeing her in his arms sealed the fate of their love even before it was expressed!

Why? Why he couldn't give her a chance to explain herself or ask her directly? Why he simply jumped to conclusions?

He could not help but blame only himself!

"I will go and talk to her for sure in the morning! I don't know to what extent I will be able to express myself but I owe her big time apology for my behavior" Arnav promised himself and went to sleep... It was so late as is...

Shyam wanted to use his last weapon before he goes down completely. He had lived with Arnav long enough to understand his next move.

He knew that after sending him being the bars, first thing Arnav Singh Raizada would do is go and apologize Khushi Kumari Gupta and win back her heart. He had seen Arnav around Khushi, stealing glances, caring for her and dropping her home late night!

He was no fool not to see Arnav was head over heel in love with Khushi and so was Khushi in love with him! Somehow Arnav's ego and ignorance towards his own feelings had caused delay else they would have been in a wonderful relationship!! And Khushi was shy enough as well as confused by Arnav's mixed signals...

And Shyam would happily take their misunderstandings and use it against them... And he laughed evil. He would not let them succeed...

He made a call from jail cell to one of his loyal to carry out a task overnight... He gave exact instructions and forwarded some video and pictures... The target was set...

Immediately news of Arnav getting engaged secretly with someone was spread like wild fire over late night and again the same old video of Khushi falling in his arms was shown to demean Khushi. News channels repeatedly showed that after all Arnav Singh Raizada got rid of the cheap girl Khushi... News indicated ASR being now engaged with love of his life and will provide insights on his fiance as soon as possible. They also mentioned Khushi trying to work as ASR's PA to woo him and make him fall for her but was thrown out within a couple of months...

Khushi entered Mehta House as usual. Everyone was staring at her and were gossiping.

Receptionist Lily was her close friend now and she loved Khushi... She took her to a corner. Showed her the page 3 as well as news that was continuously showed and discussed about.

She could feel some people staring at her this morning... But maybe she was wearing her scarf and goggles and not many people recognized her... Luckily she had not gone to college today morning or it would have been worst...

A shiver went down her spine, when her mind recalled the incident after the video was released in Lucknow...

Khushi collapsed in the conference room chair! Tears were continuously flowing from her eyes. She was ok with Arnav getting engaged with someone but why he had to harass her again and again.

She was beyond worried now. The same video had forced her family to leave Lucknow a year ago. She had seen her family suffering, her middle class parents struggling to back answer questions and taunts by neighbors, the agony and pain in their eye when leaving Lucknow, she remembered it all.

She wiped her face and called Buaji. Buaji and her parents already got to know since the neighbors had already started visiting their house. For now, Happyji was handling the situation.

Mr. Mehta has also seen the news and he knew there was something wrong. But it was not the right time to dig deeper and find out... He just was praying Khushi was ok... He had seen Khushi in office, her behavior. He was sure there was more to this story than it meets the eyes.

He called Khushi in his cabin. He could clearly see how upset she was. Her face was red and eyes were swollen due to excessive crying. Mr. Mehta shouted at staff to start working. He assured Khushi that this incident will not affect her job or position in Mehta House. He trusted Khushi immensely.

"Sir, I want to reconsider your offer to work from Paris office for a year" suddenly Khushi dropped the bomb and requested Mr. Mehta to speed up the visa process.

"Khushi, relax beta. Do not take any hasty decision. Let us find out who did this, I can also call and talk to ASR. I know him very well personally. Don't worry too much. You want me to talk to your family right now? Do you want to take one week off, relax and come back to work? Go to our office guest house. I am ok with that too" Mr. Mehta threw so many options to relax Khushi.

But Khushi had made up her mind on how she wanted to get out of this mess and that too as soon as possible...

poor Arshi...Shyam is pathetic... I hope Arnav announce that its Khushi he is engaged to, that will punch Shyam, right in the guts.

Shyam played nasty again...

Definitely khushi going to blame Arnav & we can't expect anything less than that from shyam bt I really always think is only Arnav responsible for all this mess bez khushi & her family really hide very big thing for their daughter happiness bt what about anjali they should have tell at least to nani after the marriage bt no they r not ready to reveal it😡 bez if elder people will get involved in this mess it will be solved wisely. I know Arnav did wrong by forcing khushi to marriage bt still her family is always totally depends on khushi & I didn't like that fact . Excellent update wating for how will Arnav solve this mess?

This is so sad - Hope ASR clears off the misunderstanding before it is too late and before Khushi goes off from Delhi. Waiting for the next part.
