PART 14

Arnav rested his head on his di's lap and cried like a small child.Anjaly could not control her tears.

Anjaly:Chote,you loved her so much know?I told you know,one day a girl will capture your heart and you would be ready to do anything to be with her,to make her happy.

Arnav:Yeah..di..but I didn't even think in my wildest dreams that I would feel this way.I misunderstood her..I couldn't understand her pain.Now she is going to sacrifice her life for something which she is not responsible.

Arnav raised his head.He looked at Anjali and said with determination:No..Di..I won't allow it...never..I've to save her.

Anjali:But how?

Arnav:I know what to do...He wiped his tears and stood up.

Anjali: She is already engaged.

Arnav:First of all I've to bring her back to her usual self. We heard that she was very chirpy ,smart and bold girl .I've experienced her boldness on certain situations. I want to make her angry,I want her to react,want to make her jealous,..I want to bring out all emotions from her...I want your help Di...This is a test I will have to go through.

Anjaly:I'm excited chote..How can you do it?

Arnav:We have received orders of bridal wear before she left.They have paid us advance.It was a work accepted by Khushi.I'm going to send her an official note to complete the work,otherwise to pay 2 lakhs.My friend,you know Di,Ashwin ,the lawyer,will send a document stating the consequences if she denies.

Anjaly:That's cruel chote

Arnav:Not cruel like her aunt,uncle and the man who put the ring on her finger.They are playing with the life of an innocent girl.

Anjaly:I'm with you Arnav,but I think we would go and meet her uncle and aunt and would have a talk to relieve her.

Arnav:No..They are not broadminded..They won't understand .

Anjaly:No...Chote,me Raj ,Paayal and Aakash will go and talk .If it doesn't work only we will go for the legal ways.

Anjaly had to persuade him to accept her suggestion.Thus Anjaly went with others to Khushi's house.Khushi who was staying in Raj's house also went with them.But she had no idea why all were going to her house.It was a restless day for Arnav.Aman spent the whole day with him.Nani was also very worried.

They came back to Raizada house the next day.Their gloomy faces gave the answer to Arnav.He sent the legal notice within two days.Shocking him and the whole Raizada family,Arnav received the cheque for 2 lakhs signed by Khushi's uncle.Khushi's parents' property was sold a few months back and that money was invested in her uncle's name.Anjaly and others accepted the truth that a union of Arnav and Khushi was not going to happen.

Arnav was dangerously quiet.No one discussed the topic in the house.Three days after Anjaly's visit to Khushi's house,Nani and the whole family except Arnav were discussing about Khushi's pathetic state.It was almost 8o'clock and Arnav didn't reach home.The door bell rang.Aakash opened the door.He was thunderstruck at the picture in front of him.He stood still.All were watching Aakash and came to see what was happening there.All were shocked.They saw Arnav and Khushi entering hand in hand followed by Somnath.Arnav was looking very stern,serious.

Anjaly came forward and asked:Chote,what's this?

Arnav:I brought her here.She will reside with me.

Anjaly:But on what grounds?

Somnath:As she was residing here earlier.

Payal:Papa,how did you come to know?

Somnath:Me and Arnav went together to her house.

Anjaly:She is engaged know?Khushi..did your uncle agree for this?

Arnav:Who wants their concern.?I threatened them that I would file a case based on human rights.That wretched man wants only her money.

Somnath:Anjaly..please take her inside.

Arnav:And please come with me for purchasing urgent things for her.

Nani:We're happy to have her here but We cannot keep her here unconditionally know?

Arnav hesitated and then told:Please don't worry about it.I'll take care.Then her cousins are here know..so it won't be a problem.

Khushi was silent.She looked at all of them.To their surprise,She looked calm and composed.

Arnav and Anjaly purchased cloth and other necessary things for her and thus Khushi settled in Raizada house.

Khushi and Payal were sitting together upstairs in the balcony garden..This was one of the favourite spots of Arnav in the house.

Payal looked at Khushi's expressionless face.She asked:Khushi..how did jeejaji bring you here?

Khushi didn't respond at first.After continuous effort only Payal could make her speak.Khushi said:He came with Somnath uncle and talked to my aunt and uncle and also to Vishaal's parents.

Payal:Then?

Khushi:Then there was a heated conversation between all of them.I realized that my uncle is after my money.My parents' property was sold two months back and a huge amount is invested in the bank in his name but every document needs my signature according to law.

Payal:Then?Your engagement?

Khushi got up,walked and stood near the rail.She said:Arnavji met Vishaal.Vishaal never wants me to sacrifice my life but as he is bedridden, he cannot do anything to defy his parents.He asked Arnavji to save me.She stopped and after a few moments continued:Arnavji took the ring from me and given it back to my uncle.My uncle is going to file a case against him.

Payal:Oh..my god...

Khushi...you look very confident and composed than you were a few days back...I'm happy for you.

Khushi:I'm going to work from tomorrow onwards.

She saw Arnav coming towards them.Payal didn't remain there for long.She left them alone.

Arnav stood very near to Khushi.He asked:Khushi,you are ok know?Happy?

Khushi looked into his eyes and said:Yes..Arnavji...

Arnav:Tomorrow you are coming to office know?

Khushi:Yes...

Khushi started to work again in AR office.She worked in unison with Arnav but remained aloof .She never ,by words and action, gave him any sign of her love towards him.Arnav was observing her without her knowing.One day he took her for outing in the evening.. They went to a garden restaurant where Arnav reserved seats for them. Anjaly and Payal made her wear a beautiful saree with matching ornaments .They teased them a lot which Arnav was enjoying but Khushi was keeping quiet.It irritated Arnav .Both were seated near awaiting their order.

Arnav took her hands in his and asked:Khushi,can you at least smile at me?

Khushi :Arnavji..You have risked your life...I'm cursed by my aunt..I'm afraid to be happy

Arnav:Don't talk rubbish..we have to answer only to our consciousness.You remember what all things we discussed before starting this new phase..Yes?

Khushi:Yes...but..

He put his finger on her lips.

Teaser to part 15

A car stopped in front of Raizada house. A very elegantly dressed,sophisticated lady stepped out. Arnav opened the door.She shrieked and hugged him.She embarrassed everyone by kissing him on the cheeks.Khushi couldn't take it.

Who was that lady?
Her uncle and aunt drama finished.
Now that lady drama may b going to start?

Arnav has succeeded is bring khushi back to his house but at a huge risk. Hope that he had not underestimated her uncle.
