I just visited the forum now and saw all the debates! I agree Gul will be Gul and it IS indeed our mistake for signing up to watch another show of hers, knowing her track record.
TM is right. In her last popular show, the last man she brought to the story after killing a much better man off (FL's first husband who's heart was given to the new creep), was truly appalling. He was the most senseless character that did nothing but act like a jerk. He was a rushed character, not even well etched, so you only felt disgust towards him.
But even Shivaay who was clearly better defined has been reduced to this level. What more can you expect from Gul? She is incapable of doing a story where men behave like mature adults. Have respect for people other than their family members. These men are completely irredeemable most of the time.That is one of the reasons I took so long to start watching IB, despite liking Naakul a lot from his other show. (The other two guys I didn't even know). But their characters impressed me more as I could see they were an attempt to do something different.
And what has Gul done with them? Dropped the ball on OM totally. Can't even write a proper story for him? What research did they do for his story for 2 years? Must be joking. For Rudra it's a little better but much more can be done with his story which is really interesting and BOTH the actors are superb. But Gul would rather be focusing on "Bad is the new Good" or whatever. Is she a teenager to talk in this silly way? I can't believe a grown woman is getting SO excited over a man acting like an abusive bullying jerk towards another woman? Like I have said so many times before, she needs to grow up, and start acting her age. MOST of us have evolved in the past 5 years since we watched her last show on the same channel. But she has clearly stayed exactly where she was.
She gets good actors to sell her crap for her! THAT is what makes it sad. If these actors can sell this sort of pathetic stuff to us, then what can they do with GOOD content? The actors are the only saving grace of her shows. They deserve better. But always have to end up enacting her cliches for her, and trying to redeem her irredeemable characters through their acting.
