Today's dialogue form Vicky made me think about Sonakshi Bose being part of Dixits in a bigger picture once again and how she wonderfully contrasts herself with her favorite best friend. I immediately felt tempted to share my thoughts even though I have failed to reply back to amazing responses in my previous post till now.

"Sona ho ya petal, mujhe koi nahi rokh sakta." - Vicky

Sonakshi has a strong independent personality but her personality and also Dev's to some extent depends on validation from others. For Sonakshi, it is usually every other elder or head figure while for Dev it includes his mother and at certain occasions, his now wife.

Sonakshi's inclusion into the Dixit family and her status that still stands as an outsider majority of times despite the slow acceptance of Ishwari allows her to peek into Dixits life and break the dysfunctional mold. Hell, Sonakshi's inclusion to the family as Dev's wife has also steered Radha Rani into an unwarranted territory of accepting new norms and molding herself with the change that Bengalan brings with herself.

But with all the noise and clatter between Dixits and Bose, two people who were majority of times the background characters have come out to define normalcy and dysfunction to co-exist.

Elena's name means shining bright and Vicky's means victorious and both live up to there name. When Vicky uttered today that "petal" wouldn't stop him as long as Elena admitted to love him then nothing can stop him, it defined the moment of clarity in Vicky's personality that his "zidd" to get into Elena's head had conquered him as well.

I always loved Vicky's character for the brashness, rudeness and wild characteristics it embodied. I do not condone him but the writing surrounding his character makes him a wonderful FOIL of Dev and his relationship with Elena a FOIL with Sonakshi. Following the brief interactions between the two, it is clear as crystal that despite trying to lure Elena, Vicky himself felt at ease around Elena because of the neglect and taunts both had gone through.

The constant comparison and choosing he worst for themselves thinking it's the best has been a stark quality amongst both but for once they both have found a confidant that doesn't judge them for there decisions but perhaps in moments of weakness would find a solution or reflect thoughtfully instead of scattering.

Elena and Vicky's relationship provides a window for Dev and Sonakshi, particularly Sonakshi to find that smoothening out rough edges is an easy feat as long as all parties are willing to acknowledge the problem. I believe it shows that bad can co-exist with good and there is no strict formation of rules that both Dev and Sonakshi follow for validation in their own personal lives.

For Dev, it would be a strengthened pillar across him that would mirror his own choices but decisions made from those choices on instinct and gut rather then validation.

There is a popular quote that says that Freedom is bold and Vicky and Elena are true embodiments of bold, ready to make others realize that breaking the mold isn't the most absurd choice to make. After all, the consolation to Sona when Dev crashed her engagement party was no other person but Elena and Vicky allowed Dev to party with him.

Reading over, my post is a mess of ideas and reflections but what i really mean to say is that everyone's normal isn't everyone else' normal and finally we'll see that the colors of love easily accepted aren't the only colors of love.

I don't know much about Elena Vicky dynamics . I am still trying to come to terms with Dev and Sona dynamics. But what you wrote below is stupendous. What one may think as normal or reality may not be the only normal or the only reality👏. It is all in the perception

Beautifully written dear 👏 . Elena n Vicki both overshadowed by their respective siblings have discovered how much ease they are with each other. With Dev n Sona we saw the goodies of family falling in love n with Vicki n Elena we are seeing the black sheeps of the family getting involved. How much ever good you are personally it doesn't guarantee a successful marriage unless n until you are willing to work as a team. We are yet to see if Vicki n Elena will have a better team work.

You write so beautifully. Hope you will make regular posts. Please don't be a stranger. 😃

This was a very thoughtful post dear.

Makes me wonder, will Vicky and Elena actually have the happier marriage amongst the two couples.

Dev and Sona are fantastic and so right and so in love and all that.. But perhaps Vicky and Elena just might have a more fulfilling relationship 😲
