@Pardesi_mem 😊
I was reading a very interesting interchange between you and Robina. As such I prefer the "lets agree to disagee and still chat philosophy". Coz all of us are our own persons and will have our own views 😊 And this is stupid fiction. 😆I will therefore not go into details about the virtues and faults of Raunak and Robbie.
But since this topic is raised, though not really Raka related, I would want to make a few points and in doing so I will use your own lines 😊
1. "I cannot comprehend the logic behind committing Shivani to a mental asylum without her family's knowledge or consent but Raunak was human, capable of making mistakes and that was a severe misjudgement. "
Fair enuf...so lets look at another angle.....after hearing from Kasturi that she took the money from his cupboard, cathing her lie when she was not at home for jagrata, bailing her out of the police station, observing her mysteriously leave from work to go for meetings, watching a CCTV camera showing her enter an abortion theater and reading black print of her signing up for abortion...what do we expect Robbie or for that matter anyone to believe...can we use your sentence this way to describe Robbie's reaction of insulting her "I cannot comprehend the logic behind Robbie insulting Kasturi this way..... but Robbie was human, capable of making mistakes and that was a severe misjudgement." 😊
2. "Yet, this incident alone is not enough to question his integrity"
After saving Kasturi's father from a near agni samadhi, rescuing her from Girish's intentions, generally being nice to his employees, fulfulling the duties towards his mother and siblings knowing fully well that the mother and siblings are after his fame and money, ....can we use your sentence this way ..."Yet, this incident alone of him insulting Kasturi over the abortion sequence and his reaction of watching his muh bola brother marrying his girlfriend is not enough to question his integrity". 😊
3. "Besides that was poor character/story development by the writers who needed a new twist."
So based on above two points can we not write your sentence this way...that "Robbie's seemingly brash, insulting and revengeful actions seemed more horrible only because that was poor character/story development by the writers who needed a new twist." 😊
4. "Although, Kasturi is not entirely blame free, she has free will, she could has listened to her conscience and disclosed the truth at any time but a part of her agreed with Raunak that it was best not to."
Truer words were never spoken and I must really thank you for echoing my thoughts 👏 👏 👏 . Before blaming Robbie, Raunak and all the others...can all of us see what the devi of samajh, values and tradition did??....lied blatantly to a guy in love with her and smiled to that very guy's friend over his shoulder. I rest my case on her. 😆
5. "In hindsight, they both i.e. RAKA regretted that decision (of not telling Robbie)"
When was that? Can you give me the link of that episode please.
6. "Raunak is not perfect, he is close but we all have character flaws, without them his character would have been too fictional and idealistic that it would not have been believable."
So if we are magnanimous and mature to see this, then can we not also use your sentence this way...."Robbie is not perfect, and he may not be even close to being perfect but we all have character flaws, without them his character would not have been believable." 😊
7. "I never asserted that he (Raunak) epitomised truth and honesty but one cannot deny that he had a strong hold on his morals and family values. "
Precisely, well said and therefore as a corollary...can we also see it this way ...."I never asserted that Robbie epitomised maturity and reasonableness...but when it comes to truth and honesty one cannot deny that he has a strong hold on these virtues and his family values too (remember when he tells Ariv to not mess with Vikas?)." 😊
8."Robbie did have to accept that she was a married woman. He should have let her honour her commitment. He expected her to abandon her marriage for a love that was not yet strong enough to withstand one complex misunderstanding. "
Before I responded to this I checked your location and profile. I am happy that you are part of a much evolved and civilised world and may God keep you away from all the bitter truths of life. 😊 But if you are a public personality in India, who is made to feel he is God..why just this...in most cases if you are a guy and brought up like a guy in India, you know largely one thing "I, Me and Myself"...and therefore "this is my car, this is my gym equipment, this is my bike and this is my Woman"....so stay away all... 😉 ...Trust me, there are enuf Robbie's in this world than you and I would really want to think. Not that I blame these men, because we all, including the women, help them to believe so. 😊 And therefore the things such men do may not look so dramatic in real life...but the thought process of these men in similar scenarios is very much like Mr Robbie Sabharwal. Check up women organisations sites or Aaj tak or NDTV India or CNN-IBN for details. 😊
9. "He has finally understood how to value and maintain his relationships, such as his efforts to mend his ties with his father and caring for Ka's father etc. "
Based on what we were shown much, much earlier, is putting you life in danger and jumping into the fire to save the life of an employee, and perhaps a loved one's father not called caring? Is it not called valuing human life? If not ...then I rest my case. 😊
10. "He labelled them as lovers and it was a self-fulfilling prophecy as that is exactly what they became!"
😆 Anybody who has watched a Balaji Telefilms show should know that the lead heroine loves only herself 😊 That is why neither Roka nor Raka interest me. Kasturi is in love with two things herself and her i.e. Chawla family...the rest "aate rahengi bahaare, jaati rahengi bahaare" 😆 😆 😆 ...phir kisi din I will give you examples of why I think so 😊
11. "Yet he knew that Kasturi had fallen in love with Raunak and would never be happy leaving him so he should not have been shocked when they reconciled their misunderstanding and intended to stay together. On the contrary he just reverted back to his animosity with Raunak. "
Here I agree with you. 😊 This is the time I felt Robbie was wrong. If he had decided to leave them alone, just watching them sleep with each other should not have changed it. Per him they had anyways slept together earlier right. He should have just left them to themselves. 😊
I dont expect you to agree with what I wrote, but as a friend, if possible, do read and spare a thought. 😊Neither Robbie nor Raunak nor Kasturi is perfect. Nor are they fully responsible for what happened. They all have their strengths and faults. And today if the TRP's so demand BT will show Kasturi falling in love and marrying Vikas or Ariv or Nikhil or that inspector 😆 .
The reality, if any, in this serial, as on the basis of what we have been shown to date is this...one may choose to accept or ignore it😊....That if one were to search for such personalities in real life ...then one may or may not find a devi roop or alternatively revengeful to the extent of marrying a supposed killer Kasturi .....or a forever understanding and sacrificing Raunak...but for sure one will find a "I am human so I make mistakes, I falter, sometimes I am terrible, sometimes I am horrible, I am spoilt....but somewhere I too need love and understanding, I too deserve the dignity that a human gets and not just be looked at as a money making, eye candy, rockstar Robbie Sabharwal. "😊
Thanks for a patient read. 😊
