This is exactly why you need to think about a thousand times before buying pov-based books.

Any idea which is one of the better pov-based books based on Ramayana/MB which treats other characters decently?

Or, do all such books suffer from that one basic perennial problem?

I haven't come across a POV book on major characters of Ramayan/MB that was any good, but there's this new-ish author Vineet Aggarwal whom I follow on facebook - so far he's written a Vishwamitra book and Parshuram book, both of which are fantastic. He seems like the first one who has reverence for these texts and their characters, whose heart is in the right place and whose intention isn't simply to be "different" and entertain. Hopefully his next will be Ramayan itself, since chronologically he seems to be working his way to it.

Other than that, Kane's Menaka's choice is also a single POV book that isn't too bad, offers something new without being something batshit crazy.

In general though, K.M. Munshi's Krishnavatar is the standard-bearer in this "mythofic" genre, followed by Menon's Ramayan and Banker's Krishna Coriolis.

She had fantastic diction, but I felt her acting was not up to the scene, especially when cast opposite Mohit. She did have great expressions, but some scenes lacked the magic.

Loli, do you have pdfs after the Book of Satyabhama?

I don't, that series doesn't seem to exist in PDF form yet but I hope the publishers digitize it soon.

I felt that way about Sonarika initially, until she became more confident (and increased the speed of her dialogue delivery) 😆

True.
I started searching for it online as soon as the recommendation came 😉

I haven't found a single pdf version of the series available anywhere so far...

That book Vishwamitra has a lot of fan-following and I'd like to give that a try.

Sure thing is that POV books dramatize every single aspect in ways and manners impossible and that is what leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
