Location: Presidential Suite, Khurana Hotels, New York
Today Dr. Neil along with Head of Hospital and the Administrative Head of St. Angel's Hospital came to invite Thakur Amardeep, Ramnath and Maan as Chief Guests for their Annual Charity Diwali Ball.
"Mr. Amardeep Khurana, St. Angel's Hospital will be delighted to have you all as our Chief Guest for the Annual Charity Diwali Ball this week end."
Just then Maan walked in dressed in smart casuals with Ayush in his arms.
Seeing Neil he got down from Maan's arms and ran toward Neil screaming,"Naanu, Naanu!"
Ayush sat in Neil's arms till everyone finished talking. Before the St. Angel's Hospital's team left, Ayush asked Neil, "Nannu yeh wohi programme hai naa jahaan Mumma dance karti hai?" (Grand Dad this is the same function in which Mumma dances?)
"Haan beta wohi. Magar iss baar usne dance karne se manna kar diya hai." (Yes my child but she has refused to dance this time.)
"Bade Naanu, aap jaante hain Maa bahut sundar dance karti hain." (Senior grand father do you know Maa dances very well!)
"Accha?" (Is that so?)
"Aur kya woh gaati bhi hai?"(Does she sing as well?)
"Gaati? Mumma ko toh gaana nahi aata!" (Sing? Mumma doesn't know how to sing?)
Shocking the whole Khurana family. "Nahi beta, tumhari Maa bahut accha gaati hain." (No my child, your Maa sings very well.)
"Maaji, agar aap keh rahi hain toh sach hoga magar Anamika ne pichle chhe saalon mei kabhi bhi nahi gaaya." (Ma'am if you are saying it must be true. But in past 6years she has never sung any song!!)
"Magar aisa kyun hai?" (But why?)
"Woh toh mujhe nahi maloom! Abb hum chalte hain." (That I don't know. Now we shall leave.)
"Dr. Brown, Khurana Industries would like to donate $********* for your special ICCU (Intensive Cardiac Care Unit) !" Maan said after getting approving nod from Thakur Amardeep and Ramnath making Head of Hospital, Dr. Robert Brown and the Administrative Head of St. Angel's Hospital extremely relaxed and happy!
Later in the evening Geet came and took Ayush with her home. After that Khuranas did not see Geet and Ayush at all for the whole week. Saturday evening came all Khuranas including Thakur Amardeep arrived to the auditorium.
Thakur Amardeep was looking aristocratic in his Indian wear. Ram was looking rich and distinguished businessman.
Maan was every girl's heart throb and girls were going "ga-ga" over him. All the girls except the girl for whom Maan's heart use to miss several beats, HIS MISHTY!!
Savitri Devi and Janaki were looking very poised and graceful. Thakur Amardeep, Savitri Devi, Ram, Janaki and Maan were welcomed and seated in the front row. After everyone was seated the program started, "Good evening and Namaste to our respected Chief Guests, Head of Hospital, Dr. Brown, Doctors, Nurses, ward boys and the whole staff of our St.Angel's hospital. We welcome all of you to our "Diwali" Mela. We start with our cultural show having performances showing Indian dance and music followed by dinner highlighting Indian cuisines and delicacies and concluding with exhibition of Indian arts,crafts, paintings, jewllery etc. which you all are free to purchase." Audience gave a welcoming applause.
Then came the MC, "Today we start the program in praise of Lord Shiva who is also the Lord of Dance. The dancer is praising the beauty of Lord Natraj's dance and his qualities. It is based on Shiv Tandav Shloka ,Om Namah Shivaya. The dancer is our own Dr. Anamika Singh or Dr. Anna."
Geet came on the stage wearing a white and red Kanjivaram saree stitched in bharatnatyam dance style with temple jewellery.
She went and sprinked flowers on the Natraj idol placed in the corner of the stage and did "Namaskar" (hand folded!)
to the Natraj idol and the audience, and started the dance.
Om Namah Shivaya - Shiv Tandav Strota (Film Hero Hindustani)
"From your matted locks spring holiest of the river, Ganga,
A serpent adorns your neck like a garland entwined around the mighty Tunga tree,
The sonorous rhythmn of your Damaru (small drum held in hands) reverberates around the whole universe,

Matted locks that seem most fierce and from them rises pure, crystal and cool stream of water. Which when flows through the locks, forms locks beautiful curvy waves. Remiding us of tender creepers, Om Namah Shivaya!
The fierce blaze of your dance is as fascinating as the opening of your third eye ,
The young crescent moon on your head is as pale as Rati (wife of God of love, Kaam), praying for her slain husband, Om Namah Shivaya!
The Vedas (Holy Hindu scriptures), all the arts form and auspiciousness of the universe emanates from you,
As Kadam flower spreads its fragrance, you spread knowledge.
You are the flow of the aesthetic bliss, your have sportive brilliance,
You are Supreme destroyer of all evils and worldly sorrows. Om Namah Shivaya!"
Each time "Om Namah Shivaya" was sung she took a different pose of Natraj. Finally she concluded her performance in the famous pose of Natraj. Geet finished her small about 2 minute dance to a thundering applause.
Thakur Amardeep, Savitri Devi, Ram and Janaki were sitting like statue unable to believe their eyes. Maan was in his own world seeing Geet first time dressed in heavy jewellery and dance costume. Her all moves were so graceful but sharp and geometrical where required. Khuranas trance finally broke when Raagini who was sitting with them said,"Uncle, Aunty aapko Anamika kaa dance nahi pasand aaya?" (Uncle, Aunty didn't you like Anamika's dance?)
"Beta hum toh abhi tak iss achambhe mein hai ki woh humari Guddo dance kar rahi thee yaa Mata Parvati?" (My dear we are in a state of shock. We don't know if we saw Guddo dancing or Goddess Parvati?) Making Raagini relax and smile.
Next Again MC came and said, "Next program is..."
"Maa mai paani pee ke aata hoon." (Maa, I'm thirsty, I will drink some water and come.) Maan said and rushed outside to calm himself.
After an hour interval was announced and Khuranas were guided to the refreshment stall. Maan's eyes were searching for his Mishty but could not find her. Just then Maan was surrounded by some other NRI businessmen and he started talking. After half an hour everyone came inside. Program started, after two more dances which were irritating Maan, MC said,"Now we have a surprising item that is a semi classical song by Dr. Anamika Singh or Dr. Anna."
Dr. Anna came to the mike, closed her eyes and started singing-----
"Nadiya kinare phir aayi kangana..."
(Film: Abhimaan)
The song was depicting the singers delima as she is unable to quieten her restlessness for her husband. When she goes to meet him stealthily she is caught by her mother-in-law and sisters-in-law; and her friends tease her at her restlessness. The hall was resounding with thunderous applause. Geet did namaste and went outside to have a glass of water when her way was blocked by Dr. Rahul Chopra. The same doctor whom Geet has assigned duty in children's ward. He taunted Geet in a slurring and tipsy voice, "Wah, wah, wah Dr. Singh kuch din pehle toh aap sherni banni hui thee aur aaj pehle Amrapalli aur abb ek kokila. Aapke kitne roop hain battaiye toh?" (Bravo, few days back you had become a tigeress and today first dancer Amrapalli and now a koyal bird. How many more disguises do you have?) Rahul said blocking Geet's way.
"Dr. Chopra could you please move out of my way!"
"Kyun America aa kar apni maatri bhaasha bhul gayi hain aap?" (Staying in US you have forgotten your mother tongue?) Rahul said swaying tipsily.
"Dr. Chopra, aap ek doctor hain aur aapne sharaab pee hai?" (You are a doctor and you are drunk?)
"Haan doctor hoon magar aaj mera day off hai."(Yes I am as its my day off today!) Rahul hiccuped then continued."Tum mujhe bahut acchi lagti ho Anamika aur mai tumhare saath ek raat bittana chahta hoon." (I like you a lot and I want to spend tonight with you.)
"Dr. Chopra you are drunk so we will talk tomorrow." Geet side stepped and was about to leave when Rahul held her hand tightly saying,"Tumhei problem kya hai mere saath time spend karne se hum dono akele hain aur baalik bhi!" (What is your problem at spending the night with me? We both are single and above 18!)
"Dr. Chopra, I'm requesting you for last time let me go. Don't make me use force."
"Force?? Aur tum? Tumhari jaisi dubli-patli ladki mere se ladhegi. Ho hi naki...sakta." (You will use force? You slim and weak girl will fight with me? Never!) Rahul hiccuped again. "Bass bahut hua. Saali akhad dekhati hai. Woh tera yaar Maan Singh Khurana tere ghar ke chakkar kaata hai aur tu bhi ek hafta pehle raat mein uske hotel par soi thee aur abb mujhe tevar dekha rahi hai. Teri jaisi ladki kissi ki patni yaa mangetar banne laayak nahi sirf yeh rakh..." (Enough! You b***h, you are showing me attitude. Your that lover, Maan Singh Khurana keeps on coming to your home and you also spent a night in his hotel room a week back and now you are showing me attitude. Girls like you can never be a wife or a fiancee, you are only fit to be a mistr...) Rahul went flying and landed on the garbage dumpster.
With difficulty Rahul tried to get up and focus and saw who punched him,"Toh tu bhi aa gaya iska yaar. Abb tu jaa kyunki aaj raat yeh meri hai. Teri nahi." (Oh so you have come her pimp. Tonight you go she is mine. Not yours!)
"Dr. Chopra, I'm warning you stay away from Dr. Anna?" Maan said menacingly.
"Kyun? Woh teri akele ki property hai? Theek hai hum dono share kar lenge ek raat tere paas aur ek raat mere." (Why? Is she your sole property? Alright, we both will share her. One night with you and one night with me.)
"Chopra abb isse aage matt bolna warna..." (Don't you dare talk more filth otherwise...)
"Warna kya? Maarega? Maar le mai iss laundiya ko toh leke hi jaaongaa." (Otherwise what? You will hit me? Go ahead, but I will definitely take this w***e with me today.)
Geet put her hand over her ears as she was horrified hearing such filthy language in reference to herself. "Waise tu kaun hota hai muje roknewala. Iska boy friend, mangetar, pati yaa iska yaar? Iss tehare ki ladkiyaan bazaar mein aneko mil jaayengi yeh apna...". (Anyway who are you? Her boy friend, her fiance aur her husband? Girls like her are available in market who sell th...) Maan could not hold himself back any longer and gave him two punched resulting in Rahul's jaw bleeding and Maan's knuckles bleeding but Rahul was still conscious. Maan saw his right hand bleeding and told Rahul, "Chopra tu pooch raha thaa ki Anamika meri kya lagti hai toh dekh le" (Chopra you were asking, what relation do I have with Anamika? Then look here.) and he smeared his dripping blood in Geet's maang and said,
"Aaj se aur abhi se Anamika meri patni hai, MRS. MAAN SINGH KHURANA! Aur agar tunne iski taraf aankh uttha kar bhi dekha toh mai teri aankhe nikal doonga! SAMJHAA!" (From today and just now Anamika is my wife, MRS. MAAN SINGH KHURANA! And now if you ever look in her direction I will pierce your eyes! Understood!) Maan held a stunned Geet's hand in his and walked out of the auditorium premises.
This incident was witnessed by Dr. Neil, Armaan and Riddhima who had come looking for Geet as they could not find her for past hour!
