And it is difficult to make Ms Irani look bad---hence the unflattering clothes and side plait---but even with all that Khushi still looked pretty to me. She really cannot look bad, can she?

Her wispy strands of hair at the beginning.. were the best!I remember when Khushi hides in a room when Arnav is in RM.. Not sure which epi.. And same goes for the dargah epi. Despite the side braid, her hair wasnt too oily and tightly bound at the beginning. Then she also borrowed sobti's gel and poured it over her head i guess. I wont say unflattering clothes.. She suited the look of a middle class girl. In fact her clothes were way too tight for conservative girls. 😆

Bad was Payal. Deepali is soo gorgeous in normal clothes otherwise.

I have finally made it and here i am. 🤗
Where do I begin from, ASR, one of the most well written and best suited male characters that I have seen, yes its different that I have seen only one indian show 😆 but oh well. Hmm Maya, I agree with u that one look before the exit as u put is good but hey the man was captivated from day one. Lavanya was fantastic as the 'urban babe' but Khushi was his, from the word GO. She reminded and pulled him much like how a woman would do to a man in love. Of course the love came in later on. Argh, anyway so ASR was attracted to her, her looks, her 'Tehzeeb' as some would put it. He was from lucknow and a man would always want a girl like his mum/ Di and Khushi was just that.

Ah someone mentioned Khushi was affected by the female attention he got, not at all. For one she wasnt attracted to the man initially and two, she only knew of her feelings when she saw the glimpse of Arnav behind the ASR. I would say Khushi was far more clear in her thoughts, not that Arnav wasnt but somehow she always loved the Arnav others could not see.

So Shyam is a sly man from the beginning altough I do admit that i wanted Khushi to show off her fianc in front of ASR 😆

Anwyay Lisa and the types could go to hell, Arnav or lemme say ASR did care for La but Arnav sole belonged to Khushi and how 😛

thanks for the wonderful thread , love it

will be back with more..

much love

Yes! About a year ago, I saw some photos of Ms Pansare [on Instagram, if I'm not mistaken] and thought her "a striking beauty." In fact, at first glance I thought it was another DP---Deepika Padukone---until I read the credits.

IPKKND Nostalgia: Episode 023

Parking

1. I must say this: Are you a man or a mouse, Akaash? Yes, Sisters, whenever I am berated for the deplorable things I make my characters do, I am swift to point out that men/women behaving well does not dramatic tension create. Story requires tension and conflict. YET, I bristle as I watch Akaash watch Khushi standing in the rain. I see why it is necessary for story. He cannot interfere with Arnav. He cannot rescue Khushi. Arnav alone must do it. However, could the writers not make Akaash a fraction less impotent in that scene? Yes, he does redeem himself later---but have him at least offer her his umbrella? That would not have compromised the episode and it would have build him up as a character.

2. A few episodes ago, I commented on what Arnav's pattern would be in early IPK---first he injures Khushi, then he assists her. The rescue in the parkade is an outstanding example of this. We are to understand that this hurt/help duality represents the conflict within Arnav. He despises her but neither can he allow her to be hurt. We can see the conflict within him in the parkade scene. Even earlier, when she leaves the office, he is troubled by what he has done.

3. Now I wish to speak plainly about the scene in the office. Arnav is flashing back to the red saree moment. He is lost in it. Almost mindlessly he complies with Lavanya's offer to help with his tie. He and Lavanya share some closeness. Is Lavanya receiving the benefit of his being aroused earlier by Khushi? Am I reading too much into it? When Arnav turns on Khushi and sends her to the parkade, is he embarrassed and irritated by the feelings she has aroused?

4. The comment which Mr Dutta passes in the parkade---that Arnav takes things too far tells us that Arnav has a reputation amongst his peers. He is known as an unyielding, obstinate man. This surprised me somewhat. Because if this is generally Arnav's character, then how he is being with Khushi is not out of the ordinary. I feel it would have been more contributive to story if Mr Dutta had expressed surprise at Arnav's conduct. This would tell us that Khushi is the reason for Arnav's behaviour; that he is not a casually cruel man.

5. Heart breaks for Anjali today. Her hopes crushed. But it allows us to see Mami at her best. She truly loves Anjali. And as I said previously, to unite in feeling for Anjali brings Nani and Mami on same team.

If looks are considered both Payal and Lavanya are pretty good looking women. But in order to be main heroine one should look good on camera while playing all kinds of emotions .I guess that is what sets Sanaya apart along with her delicate appearance.

Right on, Maya. Let's start with the point you raise about Arnav and Lavanya sharing some closeness...not something one can even remotely define as intimacy...most definitely a reaction to his disturbed arousal for Khushi. This is the first scene after he walks away from the Rabba Vey moment earlier...and yes, Lavanya is the recipient of the residual passion as it were. He is definitely disturbed by what his scheming brain has meted out as punishment to Khushi and his face looks just a little uneasy as she leaves the office to take up her place in the parkade.

Akash definitely coming through as a wimp in the scene where he is standing under an umbrella and watching Khushi soak in the rain without batting an eyelid. True impotence. The measure of a man should be the courage he has to stand up for what is wrong and work to fix it without being lily liveried about it. This was such a dent on his character. He does aim to redeem things with the girl later by giving her a dupatta for her Jiji and telling her a little of Arnav's back story to make her realize that she he is not as much of an evil Rakshas as she believes, but yes, this was quite pitiable.

Yes, I wondered about that point too, where Mr Dutta appears to know ASR and his reputation as a cold and ruthless businessman. But no surprise, I think, he has built up a reputation as a man who does whatever it takes to be the best. Mr. Dutta probably put it down to one more of his strategic wagers...

Arnav is definitely her Shaitaan and her Rajkumar. Her nemesis and her knight in shining armour. He begins with this episode! He saves her from a head on collision, grabs her and swings her out of the way, both deal with an onslaught of raw feelings and emotions.

Poor Anjali, a fate that no woman should have to deal with, particularly one as gracious and lovely and good as she is. Ah, strange are the ways of Khushi's Devi Maiya!

Best,

Anu

IPKKND Nostalgia: Episode 024

Rain Hug

1. This time when I watched the Rain Hug, I noticed how shell-shocked Arnav appears. Truly, he seems to be in a trance. Khushi's awareness makes him realize that he's gripping her upper arms---and then he immediately pushes her away. Also---when he hands her his jacket he tells her to cover up, if not for her own modesty, then that of the company's. But is this true? Isn't he offering the jacket because he notices that she is shivering? He feels badly, yet he can't display kindness, so he makes the act about her exposure. It's one more way of humiliating her.

2. Maybe that is what he is alluding to when he's out on his drive. He is troubled because for the first time he doubts his conduct and feels guilt for his actions. He feels compassion for a woman whom he has sworn to defeat. I love that he flashes back all the way to the fashion show. He already has a sense of history with her. In his mind, that was the beginning of this madness. And what I love even more is that Khushi does not share any of the ambiguity he is suffering from. She has no warm feeling for him. She calls him a Rakshas.

3. The most comical moment is when the driver twists around to look at Khushi. He can hardly believe it---this woman is speaking this way about ASR in front of Akaash. But Khushi is blissfully unaware of the connection, and speaks without reserve. I find Khushi so lovely and pure in that scene. And yes, Sisters, Akaash has now redeemed himself in my eyes. I like that he doesn't take offence, even signals to the driver to not pay it any attention----but gives Khushi a small glimpse into Arnav's past. Not that that has any affect on Khushi.

4. This scene in the car is really about destiny. Akaash and Payal's destiny. The dupatta was purchased with Payal in mind, and into Payal's hands it lands. And the best part about this---is that Akaash may never have reconnected with Payal unless he offered to bring Khushi home. The message here is of karma, isn't it? Do good and good things will come to you. I love it.

5. Another close call for Shyam this evening. He might have easily been spotted by Akaash. This is really the moment, Sisters. That look he gives Khushi outside the house. We are witnessing the moment when he consciously decides that he will pursue Khushi. Until now he has not acted in any way that could not be forgiven. But disappointing Anjali today to stay near Khushi is the crossing of the Rubicon. This man has now chosen the path to be unfaithful, and we all know where that will lead.

I agree with what you say above. I always say this--and will repeat myself here---Ms Irani is the finest actress working in Indian televsion today. I also believe that the kind of beauty that Ms Irani projected into Khushi came from within her. She embodied the character and to do so, there is some part of her that is Khushi.

Anu, when I read the above re: Arnav saving Khushi from a head-on collision---I had this visual of Arnav watching her even once he walked away---otherwise he would not have known of the danger. I guess it is obvious, but it's the first time I thought of it. The man had his eye on her. Sigh.
