CHAPTER 7

"Mr Raizada?" Doctor Mehra stood at the room of the door ushered by Akash inside where he saw his old patient ASR laying down a girl on the bed who seemed to be in a pretty disasterous state.

"Yes doc, please come inside. She is the .."

"..I know. Please wait outside while I check her."

"No I wont.."

"ASR please. You wouldn't want the checkup to prolong right?" He said sternly making him leave the room half-heartedly not before telling him the condition of his beloved in a few words.

"Arnav." Akash let his hand fall onto his shoulder as he sat with worry lines etched on his forehead. "She'll be alright Arnav. I believe that God test good people but the end is never bad. I know you feel angry at us and guilty at the same time but.."

"Yes I do!" He cut him harshly having his teeth grit each other slowly. "I am the guilty one here. If not for my recklessness, she would have been sitting in some corner munching on anything she'd eye upon to eat. She would have been snorning maybe. Or maybe we were.." his throat choked as he took in a sharp breath to somehow stop his tears from spilling as well as the memories of them, together. He couldn't wait to have her to himself and take her back. He couldn't wait to hear that she is alright. But at the other hand, he wanted to destroy everything at the same instant of which consequences trapped them in today.

He felt shredded.

The door clicked open making both the pair of legs run to him. "Doctor is she okay?"

"Lets sit and discuss." He ushered them both to the living room. He spoke as they all settled;

"She has been given high dose of drugs from past 2 weeks ASR" The doctor said checking their expressions. Seeing the worried face of Arnav, he continued calmly. "Also, it is indeed true that her blood contains Alcohol traces in high amount too. But she is fine. There is no danger as of yet. This could have been fatal if she would've got the same treatment for some more days though but there is nothing to worry about her health now. There are certain things you should take care and strictly. First being, make sure she doesn't pile too many worries up her head. Its hard to get rid of alcohol as you'd know, if she slips into any kind of worry or depression, please don't be surprised if she turns wild and ask for it."

The words of the doctor were cutting past his heart. Keeping his fist on his mouth, he tried his utmost to keep his tears inside the vicinity of his eyes and not to let them fall down along with nodding his head at each word doctor said, for he could not utter a single syllable.

"There is no major physical damage but the drugs and alcohol together must have hampered her mental condition heavily. Yes, she will be hysterical, she can even shun you out or will fail to understand anything you say but the best solution to this is to make her feel, make her feel that she isn't alone, struggling anymore. She had been given injections and .." he paused in sadness making the other two people's hearts duck down. "There are some marks on her body."

"Those bloody police officials were cruel and the.." Akash couldn't finish his sentence as doctor spoke again;

"No Mr Raizada, I'm not talking about those marks." His little talk was followed by a pregnant pause. "I found some finger marks on her neck. The corner of her lips are dry and the skin is broken. Seems like she had been gagged for long."

"What do you want to say doctor?" Akash asked with a bated breath watching Arnav not able to ask anything though more than an infinity of questions swam on his face.

"Maybe she has been forced for anything." He heard gasps. "No. This is not a rape case be assured." But his words didn't effect them as the tension didn't ebb away.

"Dont worry ASR. I have given her sedatives. Call me when she wakes up. I'll check her. Also I'll bring my secretary along with me for her counselling."

"Doctor, can you please stay here till she wakes up." Arnav demanded the unusual helplessly. Watching him open his mouth to say something, he spoke again;

"Please doctor. I know you are off today but we need you. I'm not sure if i can .."

"Dont worry. I'll stay." The old man smiled at him gently making him sigh in an ounce of relief. "Akash, show him the room." He went inside the room to see his love after earning a nod fro Akash.

He was a scared man. Very scared. Exactly 2 hours ago, he had no idea his sixth sense could come to reality so strongly. His heart thud widly inside his ribcage.

His family's behavior seemed to be too irrational. Khushi was given drugs, he shuddered at the very thought. But he couldn't pin point a single person who could do so. She was forced and beaten, charged for the things she must have not even thought of doing. His mind failed to register the happenings.

Aman was at the top of the priority list of the people he had to chop off with their lives but he just knew the fact that he wasn't alone. Definitely not!

Keeping his hand on the door knob firmly, his every body part dreaded to face her out of his guilt.

Slowly pushing it open, he saw her wrapped up under the sheets and a few strands of her hair teasing the tip of her nose which irked Arnav. He went to her side and got goosebumps, nonetheless he tucked her hair behind her ears.

The tears he tried to keep at the bay till now escaped the premises and fell on her as he sobbed, fearing to touch her, lest she wakes up and pushes him away, accuse him of not being here with her when she was bearing all the accusations alone which were being hurled at her.

Her closed his eyes, his fingers automatically threading into the tresses of her hair.

Home! Heaven! Thats what it felt as it seemed ages since he touched her, laced his hands through her hair to pat her.

Breathing heavily, he opened his eyes to see her serene face with hues of purple and blue making him flinch.

He snaked an arm around her shoulders from the back, arching her up a bit and opened the buttons of her dirty top pulling it off her head carefully.

The need to feel her was overwhelming to an extent that he didnt want to wait for anymore time.

Letting his shirt fall off the bed after taking it off he got into the sheets beside her he eased her into his arms. Tightening his hold around her. His hands roamed on her bare satin back as she lay in the loop only clad in her undergarments.

Inching possibly the closest to her warmth, he left a soft kiss above her bosoms keeping his head on his chest and closing his eyes.

The rest of the world could wait till he gets assured of whether she was alright or not.

"I don't believe this girl now. I thought there would have been some misunderstanding but this is so..so horrendous." Anjali said with her head cupped in her hands, sobs racking through her body while Mami twisted her face more bitterly at every new picture she saw.

"Now I'm sure i didnt go too overboard in accusing her and throwing her out. I never did a better thing ever in my life. We have 3 young boys in our house, who knows what she might have planned."

"Bas kijiye Manorama!" Nani shouted angrily.

"You dont believe even now Sasuma?" She asked sarcastically. "Anjali bitiya herself asked Aman to appoint a detective for a background check and this is what we get. A hand ful of pictures of that girl drunk. Look at this." She thrust a picture under her old eyes. "She looks like 17 or 18 years here and she is dancing shamelessly with this drug dealer who was arrested a couple of years ago. Chhi!"

"Proofs are meaningless when you think with your heart not brain. I dont want to even see all this when i know i won't believe any of this." She said sternly walking away to her room leaving a stupefied Mami behind. "I don't get how can she overlook these proofs. These pictures aren't even edited." Manorama said shaking her head sadly. Everything was going wrong with her family.
