Chapter 10

"How can that happen? How can the security get hold of the goods?" Shyam shouted through the phone. "Oh no! Have they caught them? Make sure that they don't blurt out my name!" Shyam said and hung the call.

He ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. "Now what!" he murmured to himself, "If Shashi Gupta comes to know then..."

It was then he got the call. It was from Shashi.

"What the hell is this Shyam? The goods didn't cross the checking!" Shashi screamed.

"I don't know what happened Shashi ji. This has never happened before!" Shyam said in his sugary voice.

"I don't care. I won't finance your dealings anymore Shyam. I cannot risk my stand. If your men blurt out my name in front of police then my name would be tarnished. It's enough Shyam! Now Gupta Industries will not spend a penny for your business!" Shashi shouted and hung the call.

"Damn! I have lost my investor!" Shyam cursed and then rushed to the wardrobe. He took out his bag and started stuffing clothes.

"You're going somewhere?" Anjali who came in that time asked. "Yes" Shyam answered irritated.

"Where? It's Chotte's engagement within 3 days!" Anjali cried. "I have works other than attending your brother's engagement Anjali!" Shyam shouted and continued his packing.

"Why are you shouting at me?" Anjali asked angrily.

Shyam closed his eyes in frustration and then began in his sugary voice, "Ranisahiba, my friend is in Lucknow hospital. He is critical. I have to go! I'm really worried for him and shouted at you in tension!"

"Oh is it? Ok Shyam ji, you go..." Anjali said concerned.

"Err...he is from a poor family. His parents won't have money to treat him. And the extra money I had in my account, I used it for our house! I was planning to buy a house for us so I don't have money left with me!" Shyam said in his sad voice.

"Don't worry Shyam ji! Take this!" Anjali handed over some money from the wardrobe. "Go and give this to your friend!"

"Thank you Ranisahiba!" Shyam said in his sweet voice and then left with his bag.

Anjali watched him going and took out her cell as soon as he got out of her vision.

"Hello, he has packed his bags for Lucknow!" she said with a smile, "Okay then. Meet you there! Bye!"

She took her purse and then walked out of the house. Mohan kaka saw her and started the car.

"Why are we here? Which is this place?" Khushi asked looking around the garden. Arnav smiled and said, "This is my mother's garden!"

"Really?" Khushi asked excited. Arnav nodded and said, "Every plant here was planted by her. Do you see that tree?" he pointed a huge tree "Mamma had planted it when she was 13 years old!"

Khushi looked at the huge tree and smiled. "What is that on its bark?" she asked pointing to the tree trunk. Arnav laughed and said, "I had attempted to write my name on it. I was 5 that day. She scolded me a lot that day telling that I have hurt the tree."

Khushi chuckled and moved towards the tree and moved her fingers across the carving Annav. "You were so small that you couldn't write your name properly?" She asked turning to him.

He laughed and said, "For a very time I believed that my name is Annav. It took di and mamma a great effort to change that to Arnav."

Khushi laughed and looked around the garden. Arnav took her to each and every plant there and explained the story behind each one. She looked at every plant with utter interested and laughed out loud when Arnav told her how his mother beat him with cane when he pulled out a small plant thinking it to be weed.

After an hour they both sat in Arnav's car. "Thank you so much for a wonderful evening Arnav" she said smiling. Arnav smiled and started the car.

He drove through the streets of Delhi when Khushi suddenly said, "Arnav, see it's di!"

Arnav stopped the vehicle at the side and watched where Khushi was pointing. Yes it was his di walking into the gates of Purple Orchid, the most posh hotel of Delhi.

"Did di have a party? She didn't tell me!" Khushi said. "No, she didn't have any work today. She said she would be staying at home only!" Arnav murmured and took out his cell dialling Anjali.

They watched Anjali standing in front of the hotel and picking the call. "Ha Chotte" she said.

"Di where are you?" he asked.

"Err...Chotte, my friend Nisha is in hospital. So I'm there with her!" Anjali said.

Arnav and Khushi looked at each other hearing her blunt lie. "But di, I can hear noise around you!" Arnav said.

"Woh, I'm at pharmacy buying medicines for her. Chotte I'll call you later!" Anjali said. "Ok di, bye" Arnav said and hung the call.

They watched Anjali walking inside the hotel.

"Di lied to me. But why?" Arnav murmured audible to Khushi who looked at him worried.

"Err...Arnav she might be visiting some friend" Khushi said. "But why did she lie?" Arnav asked, "There is something. Let's go in!" he got out of the car and so did Khushi.

"I cannot find her anywhere!" Khushi said after searching the hotel. "So can't I!" Arnav said.

"Where did she go? We saw her entering!" Khushi asked. "Excuse me sir, may I help you?" a man dressed in suit came and asked them.

"Woh, my sister came here. She was wearing a blue-black saree. I'm unable to find her now!" Arnav said.

"Did you see her anywhere?" Khushi asked showing Anjali's pic. "Yes mam, this lady came here just now!" the man said, "She had booked a suite in her name and had a visitor."

"Can you please confirm it?" Arnav asked.

"Let me check sir!" the man said and walked to the reception. He checked the register log and asked, "What is your sister's name sir?"

"Anjali Jha!"

He looked up and said, "Sorry sir, there isn't any Anjali Jha but I'm sure she had come here asking about her suite!" he checked the log again and said, "There is a Anjali Malhotra...Anjali Singhania...Anjali Raizada..."

"Wait a minute, Raizada?" Khushi asked.

"Yes Anjali Singh Raizada" the man said.

"Which room?" Arnav asked confused why his sister used the name Raizada instead of Jha.

"Sir, I cannot reveal..." the man began but Arnav threw some thousand rupee notes on the reception table.

"503 sir, 18^th floor" the man said pocketing the cash.

Arnav and Khushi turned but Arnav turned back again and asked, "You said something about a visitor. You register visitor's name in the log book isn't it? Who is it?"

The man checked the register and said, "It's some Gregory Lestrade sir!"

Arnav and Khushi looked at each other.
