Proud of DP for taking part of this cause which is still considered a taboo.
If all top celebs take up 1 good cause it would be great.

Mental health is a serious problem, specially in India coz people are not ready to even meet a Psychiatrist.
I lost 3 family members to Depression. I am glad that popular and mainstream actress like DP is endorsing this cause. There is lot of shame associated with accepting mental health issues.

Thanks DP. you rock.

TLLL already did. They came to our school and arranged a seminar with top psychologists in Bangalore and taught us how to recognize the symptoms of depression in our friends, relatives etc. TLLL even giving free counselling with Anna chandy and also free medication. They covered around 150 schools, collages, corporates etc all around India.
TLLL, even asked if we want to volunteer, they would provide all the training necessary and if we are bright enough, they would provide us with 98% of scholarships to study to become psychologists.

I'm so proud of her 👏
An ex-boyfriend of mine several years ago had severe depression. I remember not knowing what to do. I'd try to help but I think I actually made things worse. I chose to end our relationship but I stayed close to him as a friend. He was too embarrassed that people would judge his "manliness" if he got help but he eventually got it. Now that I'm in the Medical field and understand mental health problems and that it is a disease, I feel sad that I couldn't do much for him but am content to know that I've educated myself on the topic.

Unfortunately most of the public doesn't go through 8+ years of Medical School like I did! So people like DP stepping up to promote this issue in the public being such a big figure is vital so those who need help learn that they need help and go get it.

I used to work as a Cashier in a Grocery Store (Indian) and there was a regular customer. He used irritate the hell out of me. He used make me ring things and return or change the size so on so forth.
I at times would speak rudely to him.
One day I turned the news on and saw that a Desi lady had killed her children (2 kids) by feeding them Toilet cleaner. They didn't die with that so she pulled TV wired and strangled them.
She ,herself called 911 and admitted to the killing.
There was no remorse in her voice'
She said " My kids are not responding.I killed my kids.I want regular kids. I don't want kids with autism."
It was extremely disturbing.
the kids were of that "annoying" customer and the woman was his wife.
and everything made sense to me.
he used to have a lot burden and would come across unsure of even groceries.

I felt bad and till date regret my behavior. I am ashamed myself.

Kudos to deepika👏GTC wanted to share this..we have family friends here..their relative recently moved from India and have a son who has autism..first time when I met him I was really shocked and wanted to slap him cause I did not know he was special needs kid..he came and stood really close to me,his face was literally in my face and he said hello and asked my name.now that I have been seeing him quite often,he still does that,I just take few steps back and talk to him normally..he is just like any kid, brilliant mind-we just need PATIENCE with such kids..that's about it specially their parents.I heard that when he gets annoyed or angry he hits his mom sometimes but otherwise is so loving and kind and doing much better than he did in India..
