Chapter 2 ~ She has a boyfriend now
Khushi's POV
Hungry, tired and bored af. That's my current state right now. I do have a chocolate in my bag, but I am thinking of saving it for the worse times. As of now, I just hope Lav brings something eatable for me. We had a different class schedule today, so I have no idea where she went after her last class. And on top of that, she's not even picking up her phone. I am already so pissed off after meeting that stupid jerk and then getting ninety minutes of my life wasted in that detention room, and now Lav is trying her best to spoil the already spoilt cake.
"Hey baby!" her voice beamed as she entered our hostel room. She looked happier than ever! Um, I can guess the reason? Either she got really good marks in that surprise test held last week, or she got to feed the puppies inhabiting a corner of our college garden, or, most unexpectedly, a really cute guy proposed her. As far as I know her, she doesn't really need occasions to be happy. But this look on her face, I mean she was literally glowing!
"What's up?" She casually asked, bending down and untying the laces of her converse shoes and leisurely hanging her bag on an arm of the chair.
I tossed to the corner of the bed and laid flat on my back, pillowing my head on one of my arm, "I guess you should answer this question?"
"Nothing much. I am just a bit happy today!" She answered, sitting on the bed and taking off her stud earrings.
I looked at her and laughed, "You know that you don't know how to tell a lie!"
"I am not-"
"I want to know. Everything. In detail."
She sighed and laid down parallel to me, grinning to the ceiling before turning towards me, "Okay. I saw this new student in our batch and omg you can't even imagine how cute he is! I went up to him during the recess and asked him out, and guess what? HE SAID YES!"
I gasped and sat up straight on the bed, "Don't you think it was too quick? I mean, first you ask him out just going by his looks and on top of that, he says yes? Are you insane? Or is he insane?"
"You remember Rishi? I wasted all the time in thinking about how to propose him and that b*tch Shiana took him away. This time my heart insisted me to ask him out, so I did! Simple!" she chirped and I couldn't help but roll my eyes and let out a throaty chuckle.
She thinks it's this simple!
Baby, I hope you don't land yourself in any trouble.
"You're talking like a fourteen year old!" I laughed and walked towards her bag, to search for something to eat.
"You'll know the reason once you meet him!" She added, with unbelievable confidence.
Um, we have a Tom Cruise in our college and I don't know him?
I think I am too hungry to think about Tom Cruise.
"WHAT?! Corn sandwiches? You know I don't like corn," I frowned, disappointed by her. I peer through the remnants of her bag and find nothing except for some loosely thrown pens and a thick register.
"That shop didn't had anything else. And after those million blackmail-texts from you, I decided to get these," she said in a straight voice and snatched the packet from me, sitting back on the bed and opening the packet, "If you want to eat, eat. Otherwise shut up and let me eat."
"You're such a b*tch!" I growl and pull out a sandwich from the opened packet, while she looked at me with her signature smug smile.

Lavanya's POV
"Khush, make it fast yaar!"
I am irritated. She went into the washroom for changing her clothes and after exactly two minutes, I could hear the shower running. And since then, it's been half and hour now, she is in no mood to get out.
"Just two minutes more, Lav. This shower gel that maa sent last week is so sticky! It isn't getting off my body!" I hear a more irritated voice from inside, and I couldn't restrain the smile tugging at the corner of my lips. I wouldn't say we are exactly same, but we are very similar - in our choices, our ambitions and our interests. It has been close to four years since we've been together and undoubtedly, it's been the best part of my life till now.
"Arnav has already reached there! Hurry up!"
"Who Arnav?"
"Khush?"
"Oh your boyfriend?"
She knows how to play. And I am kind of used to it by now. I have this jittery feeling inside me, just for the fact that I am going make my best friend meet my boyfriend; maybe because I know, if she approves him, he will be the best guy for me. She knows me better than I know myself, and the same goes with me too.
"Come on let's go!" She finally got out of the shower, dressed in a loose mickey-mouse top and a pair of blue jeans. She combed her freshly washed hair with her fingers and smiled at me.
I picked up the lock from the study table and followed her out of the room.

We walked hastily to the cafeteria where we had planned to meet. It had started to get slightly dark by now and we needed to get back to the hostel before the clock read eight.
Arnav leaned against a car near the cafeteria, scrolling through his phone lazily.
He looked fresh
and hot.
"Hey Arnav!" I called out for him, standing a couple of feet in front of him.
"Heyy.." His face brightened up as he looked up from his phone, quickly sliding it in his jeans pocket. He stretched his hand forward towards me and I hesitantly gave it a slight shake.
I am blushing!
Come on Lav, you can't be a fourteen year old!
I look sideways to introduce Khushi to Arnav, but to my surprise, she was already looking at me with a confused frown. I looked at Arnav for a second, to notice him smirking, and then I again looked at Khushi who had that same expression fixed on her face.
"What?" I asked, shifting uncomfortably on my feet.
"You find him cute?" She narrowed her eyes and raised her eyebrows at me, while all I wanted was to hit her head with a hammer. She has her views, it's okay; but she's saying it in front of Arnav himself!
"He's an idiot! You don't know him, Lav. He's stupid. He's-"
"Shut up, Khush!" I say with gritted teeth, looking at Arnav from the corner of my eyes and smiling hesitantly at him.
He still had that smirk plastered on his face.
They know each other?
Since when?
"Don't worry Lavanya, it's okay," Arnav spoke up after a minute, nodding his head understandingly.
"Lav, I'm going," Khushi declared and turned to leave, "I am allergic to idiots!"
"Oh so you are allergic to yourself?" I heard Arnav say and Khushi stomped her foot loudly over the tiled pavement, humphing for a moment, before walking back to the hostel, leaving two of us alone.
"You know her?" I turned back to Arnav, having an amused feeling after the scene.
"We collided today morning in the corridor and she fell down. Maybe that's why she's so angry," he answered softly, ending with a chuckle.
"That's why she is in such a bad mood since morning! Don't take her seriously, she'll be fine tomorrow," I laughed, moving forward to lean against the car, adjacent to Arnav.
"She's interesting!" He had a sudden zest in his tone and I couldn't help but agree to his judgement.
Preview for the next chapter~
"It's Khushi's birthday next week and I am planning some surprise for her!"
"Would she mind if I join?"
"Of course not! She'd love it!"
"I'd love it too!"
Excited? Okay one thing to mention, this is NOT an ArShi story, it's an Arnav-Khushi-Lavanya story.
