This explanation doesn't exit in most of the variants of Mahabharat. I will mention two the Bhil and Kawakian versions. These two are important because these two were shipped out of India so possibility is that they stayed true to the original retelling in here. Also in these versions Draupadi is married only to Yudhishthir and not the five. The explanation that claims Draupadi to be born of five Goddess and Adi-Shakti makes an appearance much later. And i believe it was to make people accept her chastity. You know how in a patriarchal society it is always the girl'd fault? And that she was married to five men opened her to so much of character assassination. Like the Bengali version of Mahabharat, the Odiya version and a Bengali play ( I will hunt for the names) make her fall in love with Karna; all thanks to her being a common a wife to the five! This is ridiculous!
