Part 2- We are not same

"Harman" Soumya paused moving hearing some one calling him and turned back to see that one person whom she never thought would see again hugging him, but he was staring at her, she shook her head and left from there to the parking place where she saw Karan leaning on his Skoda Fabia, she gave him a smile which he returned and asked her "What happened, and I saw that girl Surbhi on my way from here,whats she doing here?'

Soumya sat in passenger seat and leaning her head back she closed her eyes and spoke "she came here to meet her beau"

Karan raised an eyebrow for this " And he might be?"

She gave a long sigh "Harman Anukar Singh, Senior PG of my team."

Karan almost shouted 'What?"

She gave him a clear look "Last time I checked you, you didn't have any hearing problem"

Karan glared at her "Don't try to light the situation, nor don't use your sarcasm with me. How can you work with him, I mean he is ... Harman "

She too returned the glare "Thanks for stating obvious, but I can't give up on my studies because of him"

Karan now gave her a serious stare "And you say you can study well, and work well with him for two years if my estimation . Two whole years with him in your team, on your side daily."

Soumya sighed and averted her gaze to side "I know its bit tough, but I don't have any other solution , Yeah before you speak I can try for another college, but its my dream to study here and I did work for it for years, I can't give that up because there's one person.. I can't let him win. Please understand. "

Karan's gaze softened "I understand Soumya, but I have a right to be cooncerned for you"

Soumya grinned "That you do, any way don't worry I am dealing with him in a complete Professional way"

Karan laughed "So my party, you promised me."

Soumya rolled her eyes "Sure I will, lets go."

"Harman !!"

Harman looked at Surbhi standing infront of him 'What?"

"You are looking down since hours, who are there, what are you looking at ?"

Harman shook his head, he has indeed been observing the white Skoda since Soumya got in, along with that idiot, it left after some time making him wonder 'why the hell is she in touch with that guy again? then her words replayed in his mind again 'He's not you Harman' What the hell does that supposed to mean, for two years he had known her, she cried because of him, how can she be friendly with him again, and that smile, she was about to cry when she went away from him and as soon as she saw him she smiled at him! How dare she? She didn't even react a bit when Surbhi hugged him, doesn't he mean any thing to her?' He was brought out of his thoughts by Surbhi shouting his name and looked at her ,' she was pestering him a lot he wondered why did he agreed to be in relation with her, Its three years since their relation started, but they broke up some thirty or so times , he also know that his best friends even bet on when his next break up will be, but he can't get serious about it since he himself wondered, the spark in her its lost, over years she became so annoying that he can barely stand her. Its their meeting in nearly three months, he called her to meet her after he saw Soumya, and now he is regretting the decision. Soumya saw them hugging ,what will she think? ' He shook his head ' What the hell does it matter and from when I am thinking about Soumya's choice.'Then he looked at Surbhi and smiled "Sorry yaar lost some where"

Surbhi smiled " I understood, any way what are these roses doing in your office, you know I hate them na" she pointed to the bunch of blackish red roses he placed in a vase, Harman smiled seeing them , Soumya used to love them all time, shaking his thoughts away from Soumya he spoke "I like them Surbhi and thats what mattters understood"

She gave him a pout "You can't even take them for me. Please remove them na"

Harman suppressed his urge to scowl " Why don't you like them?"

Surbhi spoke "They are artificial, roses are meant to be natural and beautiful but black is ugly"

Harman spoke to her calmly "My heart is black Surbhi"

Surbhi frowned "Why do you think as such, silly no ones heart can be black, it will be red because of blood but not black"

Karan looked at Soumya for a long time and when she remained silent he spoke "What are you observing at?"

Soumya pointed her head towards garden "See those blackish red roses , aren't they really beautiful"

Karan looked at them but can't find any thing special "Why do you like that colour that much"

Soumya smiled at him "Because my heart is red and I want it to have a niche in a black heart, just like those flower which has a mix of two colours. "

Karan shook his head "Believe what you want, but tell me what you want to eat"

Soumya smiled " Rajma choli with Paneer"

Surbhi asked excitedly "What do you wanna eat ?"

Harman spoke calmly "Paneer masala with Rajma"

Surbhi made a face , "How can you eat that mix, I mean such an odd mix"

Harman shrugged "I like that mix better than plain one"

' She continued to look at moon when he came behind her "Boom!" startled she gave him a look to which he smiled and stood beside her, "Its really beautiful na" She smiled "Yes, more than beautiful its perfect despite of it having its scar" He smiled "Very true. It represents humans very well na" She nodded "Yes, we all have our scars, our dark side but by helping others we let our light shine and make people love us." He spoke silently " But our loved one are most exposed to our darkness aren't they?" She turned and looked at him " If one can't accept the others darkness along with their light then it doesn't mean love Harman" He looked into her eyes "Yes, but every one can't accept other that completely Soumya", She smiled " I do" ,He closed his eyes "I know , thats the thing that scares me highly more than any thing else. What scares you a lot Soumya?" She smiled again " Not able to see you and speak to you , it highly scares me Harman. I am addicted to you , and I am scared of withdrawl"'

She got off from her thoughts by some one snapping at her and looked at Harman who is looking at her seriously "Miss Verma ! I will really appreciate it if you stop day dreaming and do your work, you haven't even gave me any idea of your proposal . " She spoke quitely "Its supposed to be submitted next week sir." He narrowed his eyes "That doens't means you can't procastinate, afterall you are supposed to be one of the eminent researcher , who can correct her seniors mistakes, then you should not take more than one day to prepare a measley proposal"

She took some papers from her desk and raised to leave , and he started to get angry "I am speaking to you Miss.Verma"

She huffed and opened door of office and before leaving turned back " I already kept my proposal on your desk Mr.Singh, which you would have noticed if you spend half time of what you spend chatting with yoour Girl Friend.So next time better check your desk before shouting at me . " Saying that she left, with a loud sound of door shutting behind her.

Mishra seriously looked at Harman who is standing infront of him in a silent way, he spoke dubiously "Harman, I expect a better behaviour from you"

Harman raised his eyebrow " She is the one who is being rude towards her senior"

Mishra spoke " That senior, who always belittle her and try to bully her?"

Harman huffed frustrated "bullying? How ridiculous, that girl can't even take my harsh attitude and came running to you complaining?"

Mishra glared at him " Its not her who complained me, its Mrunal who complained me ,after being tired up of your attitude."

Harman sighed ,he should have expected this, he was being a right jerk since the day she came, he spoke softly " I can't be here, i want to change to any other branch of university"

Mishra raised his eyebrow "Is every thing fine Harman "

Harman shook his head "Nothing is fine Professor, I keep on wondering why I am being affected by one person, but she do bring out worst in me."

Mishra nodded " I understand, but why are you letting your self affected ? She is being professional, why can't you do the same"

Harman spoke angrily "Thats what my problem is, How can she be like that, she's behaving as if I am a total stranger to her after all that happened, How can she be like that?"

Mishra looked at him in confusion "What happened between you two, you bring out extreme reactions from other"

Harman looked at him strangely as if he remembered some thing he forgot ,and became stoic " I will try to change my behaviour Prof. Have a good day, see you."

On his way out he saw Soumya smiling at Mrunal and speaking " Thanks Mrunal, I loved it, infact I needed it. Anyway, gotta go Bye" He raised his eyebrow ,she stopped saying "See you" she truly did leave any thing related to me. He sighed and called after her "Miss Verma"

She turned back and looked at him all smile leaving her face "Yes Sir."

He reached her and spoke " I was told to accompany you in field by Professor. It looks like we can't let a fresher go all by herself into field work"

She gave him a look "So you are babysitting mee?"

He gave her a look , to which she replied "While I might agree a fresher can't be left alone into field, I some how doubt Professor Sharma assigned you to go along with me, even she is not that dumb to send you with me"

He sighed " Some times I wonder elders mental capacities, but we can't disobey them can we? lets move"

She looked at him strangely and as they went to parking lot, both took their cars and Harman spoke "I guess one car will suffice"

She shook her head and opened the driving seat of her car and sat there, ready to start the car and looked at him "Will you come in or not" He grumbled about insolent juniors and got into car along with her.

Soumya who is driving looked at Harman who is staring at her music CD's and looked at her baffled "From when did you started to like Eminem or Selena Gomez ?"

Soumya gave him a baffled look " I developed a liking for them, so what?"

Harman looked at her strangely "where's your Rehman songs?"

Soumya spoke calmly " I listen to them rarely these days, Any problem?"

Harman sighed and looked at small picture ball she kept in her car and asked " So whose this third girl"

Soumya smiled "She is my sister, Parineeti "

Harman looked at the photo once again it has Karan, Soumya, Parineeti making funny faces and spoke " Are you three close?"

Soumya smiled agaiin "As thick as water. She is not my sister ,but cousin, but never even remember it any more."

Harman can understand that, they both are really close, but he didn't like Karan there so he spoke " So you are really happy"

Soumya spoke casually "Ofcourse, is there any reason I shouldn't be? Mr.Singh"

Harman everted his head to out side " I like this place actually, away from all hustle bustles of town"

Soumya looked around and she gave a wist ful smile " Some times, hustle bustles are better than loneliness of life Mr.Singh"

Harman turned to look at her and spoke "Harman"

Soumya looked startled "pardon?"

Harman spoke almost softly "You can call me Harman"

Soumya looked at him for a while before she spoke "Harman is some one who used to be my best friend, and whom I used to love, he is no more sir. There's only Harman Anukar Singh now, who unfortunately happened to be a senior of mine and with whom I should be cordial and experiences did taught me not to accept every thing others offer ,because what they offer, they can be take it back that easily." She stopped car ,and took her bag leaving down , Harman seeing they reached the field placee shouted as she continued to walk " You gave a second chance to some one else Miss . Verma"

Soumya looked back and spoke to him in a calm voice " To give a second chance one should be alive Mr.Singh, but neither Soumya or Harman are alive, they died all those years ago, we killed them, You are Harman Anukar Singh lover of Surbhi Kaur and me Soumya Verma, we are not them we are just phantoms they left behind. I don't know if you are living or surviving but I am certainly not living just surviving. This don't have any meaning and we certainly don'thave any relation between us, and I certainly doesn't want any relation between us including friendship because its already proven that any relation will not last between us till death as it is supposed to be. You are a senior of mine whom I respect, and I will really appreciate it if you treat me as a junior who needs to learn some thing from her senior. Also I don't think your girl friend will appreciate us being friends again, won't want to trouble your relation ship now do we?" She again started to walk but a tight grip on her hand made her unable to move and when she looked back ,he was looking at her with such an intensity that she wanted to be that Soumya again and spill all her secrets to him, but she can't , she dismissed the thought and looked at him questioningly when he spoke " You think we can't hold any relation ship? You think that part of us died, you think we can't be friends again? You think you can survive with out me? I am sure as you already proved ,indeed you can . But what about me ? Do you think I want to survive, I want to live, that passionate life which I used to have whichh we both used to appreciate in one other. I want my friend back Soumya. I don't care what Surbhi or any one else think, but I need you Soumya , I do need my friend in my life back. "

Soumya looked at him sadly " She's no more Mr.Singh. She died three years ago, I am not her. "

Harman looked determined "Fine have it your way, I will get her back, she is there in you , I will bring her back again on to surface"

Not able to speak any thing she released her self from his grip and left not turning back, if only she turned back she would have seen that lone tear from his eye and he would have seen her eyes filled with tears.

gosh their past have to be quite painful...itna sadness in their past...n they both r affected to hell...nice part...waiting for harman to bring back his somu to life...

actually its a painful past that affects Somu more than Harman. For many years he kept saying to himself that he loved Surbhi, and he did have a sort of relation with her.BUt for somu its only Harman, the girl did face hell and came back. but yes both of them have a lot of pain and somu is much affected and destroyed than what we expect of her.
