The one thing about Khushi and Arnav on Diwali night was that they were going to get intimate (kiss) even while Arnav and Lavanya were together. And if Khushi was going to let him kiss her, she was equal in part to the betrayal. For whatever and to what extent Arnav and Lavanya were together, they were together as a couple.

So if Arnav was using that as reference to what he believed Shyam and Khushi had been doing, then it makes sense. If Khushi was the reason Lavanya and Arnav did not get together in the end, then Arnav could believe that Khushi was coming in between Shyam and Anjali.
