What a mess indeed. They have gone from having the best buzz to all this unnecessary negativity around it. Even if they wanted to shift (not that I agree with the decision) but even if they wanted to shift to a different date , they could have handled all this better. What is causing the most confusion is their explanation as it makes zero sense. If your explanation is that then you should have shifted to a date where it was a solo release and not one where it was clashing with two other big movies.

Since when did it become "morally and ethically wrong" to release a movie on the same date as another movie...SMH! I don't think any of us are happy with Raees shifting to 26 Jan but since when did people start having a copyright on particular date out there!

I just find that whole thought process ludicrous. It's great that your movies have done well on a particular festival, doesn't mean you own that festival or a certain a date!

But Raees isn't a Diwali kind of movie. It's gritty, it's probably a little dark so I'm not sure if it would have been apt to release it on Diwali, especially considering the fact that it will then be releasing along with Karan's ADHM, which would be a more wholesome movie in the sense that it'll appeal to the family audience more I guess.
