Part 25
Arnav entered his room while searching for Khushi to see if she was fine after the outburst which eventuated in front of Akash and Payal only to find her seated on the bed, staring at nothing in general yet looking extremely lost in something. He hated to have changed that chirpy girl full of life into someone blankly staring at the wall.
As Arnav closed the door behind them knowing that Khushi might shout on him, the sound reached Khushi's ears making her jump to her feet, spraining herself in the course which made her limp for a second and bruising herself as she hit against the edge of the table.
It happened so fast that Arnav didn't have any time to react but he sprung to action as Khushi groaned in deep pain which pulsated through her. Reaching by Khushi's side, who was trying to hold herself from falling, he immediately balanced her and lifted her off her feet in a smooth move before placing her gently on the bed.
" I will get some ointment for you, wait. You will be fine, Khushi." Arnav's assurance as he spoke quickly and looked at her with immense concern and anxiety, was duly reciprocated with incredulous look from Khushi's side as she witnessed his deep concern for her.
Why does her heart want to trust this guy's intentions when he snatched everything from her and left her in a vortex of turmoil? Her mind loathed the very presence of him as it weighed the problems caused by him against the love he has shown to her but her heart somewhere had understood his language of love, and felt it was authentic and rare.
Khushi's trail of thoughts was broken off when Arnav took his seat opposite to her and placed her leg on his lap while Khushi tried pulling it back in an instinctive action but Arnav proved to be swifter than her in his actions as he held on to it firmly while eyeing at Khushi intensely, telling her with his eyes that he would apply the ointment himself.
" You don't have to do this." said Khushi while looking at him firmly.
" Already I gave you so much of pain, let me heal at least one of your wounds for now. Please, Khushi." Arnav's plead melted Khushi's intense gaze as Arnav felt her leg muscles relaxing under his grip.
He took cotton from the first aid kit placed beside him and dabbed some antiseptic on that, while Khushi was horrified seeing it as she was scared of the stinging pain it caused.
" NO! You are not applying antiseptic. No ways!" shrieked Khushi in terror while Arnav looked amused with her scared pout.
" And why is it so?" questioned Arnav still holding the cotton in his hand and making no move to discard it.
" Because it stings. And I hate it. Now throw it off. Warna...Warna, I will hit you." Khushi resorted to threatening Arnav while he gave her an 'are-you-serious' as he saw himself losing in her antics more. This was the Khushi he had fallen for, exuberant, vibrant, confident and eloquent.
" Oui Maa, Main Tho Darr Hi Gaya. What if I break my bones? Who will lift you and help you move around in this stage?" flirted Arnav while looking straight into Khushi's eyes knowing that she would never break off a clash of gazes from him in an argument and started cleaning the wound of hers, unknown to her.
" Oh Please! I just sprained my leg not my brains like you that I wouldn't understand your flirtatious words. Don't think you are too smart, Mr. Chotte!" snarled Khushi, while Arnav smirked at her, angling his face at her and speaking huskily,
" I don't need to act smart, Actress Sahiba. And I am smart. I can as well provide you with proofs of the same."
" Oh Really? I didn't know you know magic. Magic of conjuring proofs for something you are not." Arnav's smirk just increased as he lifted his hand holding the cotton towards her to see as he mouthed,
" I cleaned your wound with the antiseptic lotion and you didn't realize it too. What can be a better proof than this?"
Arnav threw the used up cotton into the dustbin beside him as Khushi eyed the cotton and her wound alternatively with shock flooding her eyes. How did he manage to apply antiseptic on her without her realizing it?
But she cannot show she was impressed with him and let him prove himself to be smart, could she?
" O Mr.Arnav Smart Waale, Thode Dharti Pe Chalenge Please? Itni Bhi Badi Cheez Nahi Kiya Tumne Ki Tum Meri Nazaron Main Smart Bann Jao." taunted Khushi while Arnav smiled more as he replied,
" Tum Saath Chalogi Tho Zaroor Chalenge Dharti Par, Madam." Khushi shot him an unbelievable look to him before she retorted,
" Kamaal Ho Tum Arnav. You just need a chance to flirt don't you? Kisi Bhi Situation Main Joke Kar Dete Ho."
And then she did something for the first time in front of him, for him which made him lose his senses for her. She smiled. Smiled at his sense of humor to warm his heart yet again as the hope of being able to win her over reignited completely in him.
Looking at him incredulously, Khushi clicked her fingers in front of him, snapping him out of his romantic reverie as she wanted to thank him,
" Thanks for the antiseptic. I might not have applied it if not for you applying it. So thanks."
She tried moving from there when he held her leg, stopping her from getting down the bed, just as she felt pain shoot through her leg, making her realize of the sprain.
" I still have not completed, Actress Sahibha. I still have to ease out that sprain for you."
" It's okay, leave it. I am used to sprains so it wouldn't be much of trouble." Arnav chose to ignore her statement as he whispered in a husky tone, looking straight into her eyes,
" Thoda Dard Hoga.."
And she grasped his shirt in pain, as he twisted her ankle to side to relieve her of the pain. Arnav eyed her hand holding him as the support for her, her eyes shut in pain with her head bent down to control herself. There was something in that situation which made his heart pound away like there was no tomorrow, made his eyes worship her figure in front of her and something which etched this whole scene in his mind. Maybe it was the way she chose to hold him rather than the sheets or the bed or the way she smiled at him just before that.
Where was this relationship heading towards?
