Hey guys! I know today isn't update date but I'm changing my phone so have to delete all the documents on the current phone, including this chapter. So I'm uploading it early. Chapter 17:
Nandini's POV:
He pulled me so close to himself there was physically no distance between us right now. I was losing my self control bit by bit, I was fighting myself to stay sane and to not lose it to him but his proximity was driving me absolutely insane. I just couldn't gather the courage to push him away this time, I knew this is wrong but I can't get myself to get out of his hold, I just don't have the heart to pull myself away from him anymore even though I know this is so wrong. His anger reached its peak when he dug his nails in my waist to the point where his fingers left a mark on my body, I knew I had to calm him down so I put my hand on his heart, 'Manik' I said very softly while looking deeply in his eyes, even though the water was clouding my vision. He closed his eyes and took a deep breathe, this seemed to have calmed him down a little. His grip was becoming loser but he wasn't moving his eyes from mine. We were still being soaked under the very cold shower, 'Nandini' he just whispered my name with so much pain. What was wrong with him! First he was angry and now he seemed hurt.. Is this because of me? I couldn't understand what was happening with him. Our eye lock was broken when Cabir entered the room looking for Manik. 'Manik? Dude where are you we're late for rehearsals..' he said while coming towards the washroom. Me and Manik were immediately alerted, Cabir couldn't see us in such a compromising position, I was trying to figure out what to do when Manik pulled and hid me in his arms at the exact moment Cabir opened the washroom door. 'Cabir, shower le raha hoon.. You go ahead I'll be there in 10' Manik said to Cabir. 'Oh sorry, woh the door was open so, sorry! And yeah come soon we're waiting..' and with this Cabir left the room. I sighed in relief, only to then realise that Manik and I had again come far too close to each other. He was just staring deep into my eyes, I couldn't figure out what was in his mind, for the first time I couldn't read Manik. At this moment I felt extremely nostalgic, it feels as if history is repeating itself. These little things are what made me and Manik fall for each other in first place. First the storeroom, than the mud fight and now the shower. It's like fate wants us to be together.. But how can I be with him? Me being with him will only harm Manik, and my love isn't so selfish that I will put him in danger for myself. I'll die loving you Manik, but I'll won't let you die because of my love, I'll always protect you. Nandini promise.
We were still lost in each other, completely drenched in the shower, staring into each other's eyes when suddenly he left me with a jerk, turned the shower off, took a towel for himself and left the room. I was very confused by his behaviour, he came back to my room and threw a towel at my face 'dry yourself and get changed. I'm going to Cabir's room to change' he said very coldly and left the room slamming the door very loudly. Have a I mentioned how confused I was right now, he must be really pissed off at me. After so many years I saw a glimpse of monster Manik in him.
Manik's POV:
My mind felt like it was a volcano ready to erupt. I was going to explode, I was angry at Nandini.. I don't know why I just was. Maybe because ever since I've met her I have so many feelings inside me that I just can't figure out, she's taking over my mind completely. My mind is occupied with thoughts of her, it's almost as if I'm obsessed with her. We have a connection but I don't know what it is. I've been trying to remember stuff from my past for two years, two bloody years and I haven't been able to remember anything and one day she just walks in my god damn life and I start seeing things, she takes over my mind completely. She punched me, not once, TWICE.. With that punch I felt like something inside me just went BOOM and I lost all senses. I couldn't take the stress anymore so I decided to call my doctor and speak to him, he was a family doctor and one of dad's best friends. He has been handling my case all this while.
I spoke to the doctor and explained to him everything that happened, because he's a family doctor I am very close to him so I didn't shy away from telling him the entire truth, which includes everything to do with Nandini. He just said her punch triggered me to remember things because my brain recognised the situation as it has happened before.. All my memory is still stored in my brain and it always will be, but because of amnesia I am unable to recall those memories. So the memories are there; I just don't remember them. All this was so messed up. What the hell has my life become.. I just know one thing, I need to stay away from Nandini. If I go any closer to her I'll lose my mind completely. I'll go crazy. The doctor just told me not to stress myself too much over this issue, stay calm and relax. If I pressurise myself too much it could be harmful for me, but heck I don't care anymore! All this is so messed up. I groaned with annoyance and take the first thing that comes to my hand, which is a vase in Cabir's room, and throw it on the floor with so much force it smashed into a million pieces.

The doctor on the other hand after talking to Manik, called Cabir. The doctor, Dr. Basu, knew about Manik and Nandini's past. So he was able to figure out that Manik is only remembering things because he's putting a lot of pressure on his brain to remember everything, and to recall the events that took place before the accident. 'Wait so Manik remembered something? How is that possible we have been trying for two years and he's never been able to remember anything than how come all of a sudden?' Cabir was surprised with the information Dr. Basu gave him. 'I know Cabir, even I was shocked but it's only because of Nandini. Meeting Nandini has deeply affected Manik. He recognises her, deep down he knows who Nandini is and what they had, but because of his amnesia he's unable to recall anything which is frustrating him. This frustration is leading him to put an awful lot of pressure on himself, to dig out his old memories deep down from his brain' Dr. Basu informed Cabir, 'but isn't putting too much pressure on himself bad for his health? That's why we've never forced Manik to remember anything so he isn't put in danger' Cabir said being concerned about Manik's well being. 'No Cabir, the accident was a long time ago, Manik's brain isn't weak anymore like it was when the accident happened. His brain has fully recovered from the injury now, which mean he's able to take a little amount of pressure, but not too much. However I can't guarantee if Manik will ever fully recover and regain all his memory. That still seems very unlikely..' After discussing a little more about Manik's case with the doctor Cabir hung up completely lost in his thoughts. He was confused on what he needs to do now. Manik has done a lot for Cabir, and Cabir sees him as a brother more than a friend so he feels Manik's happiness is his responsibility. He just wants Manik to be happy.
Cabir was very stressed about manik when he felt someone tap on his shoulder. He looked back to see Navya standing there with coffee in her hand. She handed him the mug and sat next to him, 'kya hua?' she asked, Cabir just smiled at how will Navya knows him and is always there for him whenever he needs her. 'Manik ko le ke stressed hoon.. Kuch samajh nahi a raha' Cabir voiced his concerns. 'Kyun kya hua?' Navya asked to which Cabir explain everything that has happened to her. 'Navya Manik has seen tough times all his life.. He had such a disturbing childhood, a selfish mother, a father that was too busy for him.. Despite having FAB5 he was always lonely, he was in the dark. And one day when Nandini walked in, he was finally able to get out of the darkness, he was happy, he was at peace. But then his cruel fate took her away from him, and now how he's back in the darkness. He doesn't deserve this, he deserves to be happy, he deserved to be loved' Cabir said with a teary eye. Navya placed her hand on his to assure him everything will be okay, Cabir continued 'he found his life in Nandini, but Nandini also left him. She left him to be lifeless again. I know she loves him but her decision to leave him is very selfish' 'nahi Cabir, as far as I know Nandini agar wo Manik to chor kar gayi hai toh I'm sure she must have a very good reason for it. Nandini loves Manik too much to every hurt him. Aur tum pareshan kyun ho? Jo ho raha hai acha ho raha hai, Manik aur Nandini ek dusre ke paas a rahe hain.. Manik ko Nandini ki yaadien mil rahi hai. Time do, sab theek ho jai ga' Navya assured Cabir as she rested her head on his shoulder. 'Tum wake mein hi meri best friend ho, yeh black and white baatein kar ke humesha mujhe stress se bahar nikal leti hoon' Cabir said smiling at her, Navya smiled back at Cabir. 'There is one thing that's still bothering me' Cabir said, 'what?' asked Navya 'we're going back to India in 4 days.. Aur Nandini will be here.. I don't know what to do' 'don't worry Cabir; Nandini will come back to India with us.. I promise I'll convince her. I won't let Manik be alone all over again. We'll fight, fight for his happiness' said Navya assuring Cabir. 'Yes we will' said Alya, Dhruv and Mukti who were standing at the back listening to their conversation. 'We'll get them back together Cabir, don't worry' Alya assured Cabir, and Mukti and Dhruv seconded her. 'But first we have to find out why Nandini left Manik.. We all know Nandini would never leave unless she had a really good reason, we just have to find out what it is. We need to convince Nandini to go back to Manik' said Mukti and everyone nodded in agreement. The rest of the night was spent with them giving each other support and assurance and a promise to make their best friend happy again.

The next day was very hectic, with the talent show just three days away FAB 5 were constantly rehearsing. They didn't take many breaks on Manik's request, music was the only thing which Manik used to distract himself from everything wrong that was happening in his ever so confused life. Throughout the day Nandini tried to speak to Manik but he just ignored her or gave her 'monster Manik attitude'. Manik was annoyed because he wanted to be close to Nandini, he wanted to figure everything out, but he knew that they were going back to India soon which meant him and Nandini would be separated. So once again Manik started fighting the attraction he had for her. Nandini came into FAB 5's rehearsal room mid practise and said 'guys you have been rehearsing all day take a break', Manik was already frustrated so took her frustrations out on her 'WHAT THE HELL? Are you blind, can't you see were busy. Who gave you the bloody right to interrupt us mid rehearsal!! GET OUT!' he roared at her which made Nandini jump in her place, she along with the rest of the FAB 5 were startled by his behaviour and tone but chose not to say anything instead leave them alone. 'Manik relax, and she's right let's take a break.. I'm hungry I'm going to get some food.. Wanna join guys?' Alya Mukti and Dhruv said yes, and Manik refused.. Taking this opportunity FAB 4 left the room to give Manik and Nandini some time alone. 'Manik, still gussa?' Nandini said making a puppy face. Manik ignored her and continued playing his guitar. 'Manik!! Angry?' she asked again, Manik closed his eyes to control his anger and just said 'no' very coldly. 'Then why are you being so rude?' 'Ache se baat karu to problem, rudely baat karu to bhi problem. I don't understand what your God damn problem is' Manik again yelled at her. Nandini knew she was at fault because she started the fight, but she wanted to end it now so to change the topic she offered a peace offering, 'acha baba I'm sorry.. Look I made a Greek salad for you, I know it's your favourite, take it as a sorry gift' Manik ignored her and continued with his guitar.. 'Manik please na' Nandini continued with her pacifying session. Even after a lot of pleading Manik didn't pay any attention to her and didn't talk to her or even look at her. Nandini got a bit annoyed and snatched the guitar from Manik, just like Manik snatched her laptop from her. This pushed Manik to his limits, he was already pissed off with everything happening, and now Nandini being stubborn was the last thing he needed. In his anger he snatched the salad from her hand, threw it in the floor and stepped on it. Nandini was shocked at his act, 'what the hell Manik? I made that especially for you, kab se I'm saying sorry.. Why aren't you listening to me. Problem kya ha...' Her sentence was left incomplete when Manik brutally grabbed her arm and pinned her to a wall and yelled 'SHUT UP OR ELSE I WILL...' and with this he bought his lips extremely close to hers. Nandini's eyes widened in shock and for a minute she almost forgot to breathe, they were once again very close to each other.
Their eyes were locked with each other, Manik was trying to find all the answers to his questions in her eyes and she just drowning herself in the depth of his eyes. Manik's eyes which were full of fury started to soften as he looked deeper in her eyes, she was the magic that could calm the storm raging inside him. The eye lock which was full of passion, anger and rage now turned softer and full of love. They continued to stare into each other's eyes forgetting everything else in the world, when suddenly reality hit Manik and he realised he had to stay away from her because they would have to separate in a few days anyway when he'd go back to India and Nandini would stay in London. Manik didn't want to get hurt by her; he didn't want to get attached to her to the extent where leaving her would become hard for him. So he just left her with a jerk and walked out of the room, leaving a teared up Nandini behind.
