Part 6 :- The King's flame
Orange rays of the early sun streamed in through the window and fell on Haseena's sleeping form. She used to love the comforting touch of these morning rays until Chand rescued her from death and added her as a member to the world of vampires.
Haseena was a police officer, and she had met Chand six years ago. She had been shot by a drug dealer and Dr. Chand Vansh, the Chief Medical Officer of Doon Hospital had operated the bullet out of her rib cage. Haseena had been surprised to be able to see the light of the world again. Not to forget the insane attraction to the blood that was being transfused into her body.
She had been in the ICU due to which nobody was allowed to visit her until Chand himself allowed it. Haseena still remembered the moment when Chand had helped her into a sitting position on the bed. She had felt the bandages covering where the bullet had pierced her body, but there was hardly any pain beneath those bandages. Before Haseena could comprehend why she felt as healthy as a horse when just hours ago, she had been sure she wouldn't wake up ever again, a glass filled with blood was offered to her. Without giving it a moment of thought Haseena had downed the contents of the glass in a go, and had been horrified at her own actions.
"Don't worry", she had heard Chand say, "You have done nothing wrong."
"Are you crazy?", Haseena had shot back, "You offered me blood and as if that wasn't insane enough, I drank it, and I loved it's taste." She had been almost sure that she had turned into a monster.
"What's crazy in that?"
"A human drinking blood is not crazy?"
"Yes, a human drinking blood is crazy", Chand had agreed through a smile, "but my dear, a vampire drinking blood is absolutely normal."
Haseena could have sworn, that her eyes had never been wider than they had been at that moment. "V-Vampire!? No, I am human, and vampires are fictional creatures!"
"You would love to believe that, officer, but trust me vampires exist. You are one and I am one too."
"You are a- You turned me? Why?"
"You would have been dead otherwise Haseena, and I didn't want that. You are a brave woman and Dehradun requires you for its safety."
And that was how Haseena had first met Chand, who was now her husband. Did Haseena regret this life? Absolutely not!
In her mortal life, Haseena had been an orphan. Then why would she let the chance of having a family slip by? Chand had given her a family, a true friend, and four children to love. No, her children weren't adorable little kids giggling around and learning to speak or walk. Her children were grown-ups and went by the name of Arth, Misha, Kabir and Abhay. Chand wasn't blood related to any of them, yet all of them respected him like he was their parent. And it was almost unbelievable to Haseena that they had accepted her and loved her just the same.
Then there was Sugandh who was a witch. Sugandh was a beautiful woman and Haseena's true friend.
"Piyaaa...", a distinct cry echoed in Haseena's ears and she was fully awake at once. There was no mistaking in it that it was Sugandh's voice.
Sugandh had been a part of the Raichand Residence for fifteen years now. When Abhay had found Sugandh, she had been lying in a pool of blood, in the forest surrounding the Dehradun railway station.
Till date Sugandh had no idea about the one that had tried to end her life, and very unfortunately the accident had sealed away her memory. She remembered that her name was Sugandh because someone had called her by that name, before she had lost consciousness.
The only thing that Sugandh remembered about herself was that she had a daughter named Piya, who was snatched away from her by some hooded figure, male or female, she could not tell. The event still haunted Sugandh as nightmares.
Vampires possessed the ability of reading people's mind and so Abhay had seen six year old Piya, through Sugandh's memories. Since Abhay was the King, he had the ability to reach the mind of every single supernatural creature.
Using this ability, Abhay had sent an image of Piya to everyone, and absolutely seventeen days later, Piya had been found in a family whose guardian was named Dipannita Dobriyal. To the world Dipannita claimed to be Piya's grandmother, but was that even true, Abhay couldn't be sure of. Not until he had met Dipannita and Piya in person.
But that one task of meeting them proved next to impossible. Dipannita never stepped out of her home after 5:30 pm, nor did she allow anyone of her family to do so.
Since vampires could not wander around before that time, Abhay had not been able to bring Piya back to Sugandh. Surely Arth or Misha could have helped and they had tried too, but they had found out that none of the Dobriyals possessed the aura of the supernatural world.
No supernatural being could shield their aura completely. So Piya Dobriyal could not be Sugandh's daughter and still remain human. She had to be a look alike of the missing Piya. But then a supernatural creature and its doppelganger had never existed at the same time.
That pointed towards two possibilities, either this was an exceptional case and Sugandh's daughter was yet to be found, or Piya Dobriyal was the one that they were looking for and the Dobriyals had secrets which ran deeper than the Mariana Trench!
The only way of confirming if Piya was a supernatural or not was to wait till moonlight after a lunar eclipse, fell on Piya. The moon was the source of power for all mystical beings. And when there was a lunar eclipse, the moon was covered in a shadow, thus making everybody weak. The first ray of light after an eclipse called out to them and supernatural creatures welcomed that light like farmers welcoming the first rain of the season. No supernatural shield worked upto an hour after a lunar eclipse, and supernatural creatures could be easily spotted by their auras, within that hour.
That left Abhay and his team with little choice. They could do nothing but wait until Piya walked out of her house on such a night.
It was Arth and Misha's responsibility to take turns and shadow Piya Dobriyal at all times. Fifteen years had passed and Piya's truth was still a mystery.
Haseena had fallen asleep on the sofa in Sugandh's room. Sugandh's voice had made her jolt up. She didn't like seeing Sugandh like this. From the way her body was shaking and tears were streaming down her cheeks, it didn't take a genius to know that Sugandh had dreamt of Piya again.
"Sugandh", said Haseena sitting down on the bed and holding Sugandh's hand. "Here look at me. Look at me Sugandh. It was a dream. A dream, alright. I am here with you, and nobody can hurt Piya. Abhay has promised to protect her, right?", said Haseena wiping her tears and tilting her chin so that she could look into her eyes. "Right, Sugandh?"
"Y-Yes", answered Sugandh trying to compose herself. "Sorry Haseena. I have troubled you a lot since yesterday."
The whole of the previous day Sugandh had been restless. She had felt as if something very wrong was about to happen, as if Piya was in danger. She had been waiting impatiently for Arth to return and say that Piya was perfectly alright. She had been so worried that Abhay had promised her to bring Piya along with him. The thought of finally seeing her daughter after years had made Sugandh rush to the door even at the knock of the wind. Haseena could not have left Sugandh alone, so she had taken a day off to keep her friend company.
"Nonsense!", she said, "What are friends for?"
"But you were there with me, everytime I rushed to the door. You must be tired Haseena."
"Obviously I'm tired", said Haseena trying to tease Sugandh about her impatience to meet Piya, "and I'm going to complain to Piya about it. I will tell her that her mother's patience is worse than that of a child."
Sugandh smiled. "I had known it all along that you are planning to embarrass me infront of Piya."
"You got that right", teased Haseena. Sugandh chuckled in response and then remembering last night she asked, "Did you meet Piya? I don't know how I fell asleep. Would she have returned back, without meeting me?"
"I don't know Sugandh. I didn't even hear anybody. I doubt if anyone even returned last night. Even Chand didn't come back. One of his patients was in a critical condition."
"Oh! I thought... B-But why wouldn't Abhay return? He said he would bring Piya along", said Sugandh getting down from the bed. "He must have returned and since I was sleeping, he didn't disturb me."
Haseena had no answer to that. Sugandh could be right. "Where are you going?"
"To talk to Abhay. He should have woken me up.
You coming with me?"
Haseena wasn't sure if it was a good idea to talk to Abhay so early in the morning. If due to any reason Abhay had not been able to fulfill his promise and bring Piya along, then he must be in a foul mood at the moment. She had seen Abhay scream at Arth once. She didn't want a repeat of that. Not that Abhay had ever been disrespectful to her or Sugandh, but most of the time his jaw was set in a scowl. And she didn't want to see him if by any chance he was angry about something. But who could explain that to the mother who wanted nothing more than getting her daughter back?
So, Haseena accompanied Sugandh, hoping that all went good.
*************
Jeh's car was parked at the end of a dimly lit alley and he was standing out, leaning on it, gazing into nothing in particular. He had been in the same position the whole of the previous night. His eyes stung and had started watering from lack of sleep. Being in the same position for so long had given him a burning pain down his spine and a pricking headache was beginning to dull the functioning of his brain. On hitting a bed he would be dead for hours, but Jeh could not allow himself such comfort. Not when Piya must have been in so much pain because of him.
Piya had taken over his mind and heart, the moment she had applied for a job in his company. He had been with Ruhi for a long time, but Piya was something else. She had jammed the rational part of his mind since she had walked into his life. Her eyes, her smile, her smell, intoxicated him like nothing else. Jeh would have done anything to keep Piya happy, if only she had accepted him. He would never understand why was it so difficult for her to understand that he loved her. It was his heart that was broken and yet his employees looked at him like he was the bad guy!
Yes Piya had hurt him, crushed his heart mercilessly, still he regretted snatching her life away. Now he would never see Piya again and there was nobody but him that was to be blamed. "How?", asked Jeh to himself, "How could I have done this to Piya?"
There was not a single scratch on his skin, but Jeh could feel a stubborn ache all throughout his body. He could not believe how he had done something so gruesome. He had hurt Piya!
Hurt? He had killed her! Killed! Murdered her in cold blood!
She had been so severely injured. So much blood had gushed out of her wounds. Piya must have been in so much pain and what had he done? He had laughed at her state, at her helplessness.
His phone vibrated showing a message- "Where are you J?" He didn't need to check the number, he identified the sender by the way she had referred to him. It was Ruhi's message. She always typed J when writing his name in a message.
Something flipped in Jeh's mind. He was reminded of the moment when Piya had walked out of his office, making his heart as blank as his phone and laptop. Jeh had followed Piya almost immediately to pull her into his arms and scream it out for her to understand that they belonged together, that she was being stupid by crushing the love that he was offering her. But the conversation between Ruhi and her had frozen Jeh. They were talking about some man-in-black that Piya probably loved. Ruhi was suggesting Piya to confess her love to another man. It was that moment that Jeh had hated Ruhi like never before.
Jeh's eyes held remorse no more. His green orbs had a maniacal gleam in them.
Ruhi! Yes, that one girl was the root cause of all evil. It was because of her that Piya had rejected his love. How could he have allowed Piya to confess her feelings for another man? He could not even think of Piya in someone else's arms. It was important to stop Piya, and so he had done what he had done!
Jeh had not been able to be the man whom Piya developed feelings for, but he was satisfied being the man that her eyes had captured, before she stopped feeling anything!
He moved back into his car. As the engine roared to life there was only thought in his mind- Ruhi had much explaining to do!
**********
"Tusky?", remarked Kabir in between laughs. "God, I love her already. I can't wait to meet her."
Kabir was a powerful wizard and the supernatural world knew him as Abhay's shadow. He was the only one whom Abhay shared his thoughts with.
Abhay was in a hut at the boundry of the Suryavanshii kingdom and at the moment he was regretting sharing the events of the previous evening to Kabir. Kabir wouldn't stop laughing. What the hell was so funny if Piyashree had called him by a stupid name - Tusky?
"Will you get over it Kabir? Just say what brought you here and get lost."
"I don't understand why you have that angry look on your face", said Kabir innocently. "Just think about it once. Tusky Monster! Wow! She is so creative. Don't you agree?"
Abhay glared at Kabir.
"See", continued Kabir, "You didn't say no. I know you love the name."
Abhay contemplated if it would be okay to throw Kabir out of the window. But no, the window was too small, Kabir would get stuck.
Before Abhay could consider the door to be a better option for getting rid of Kabir, the smell of jasmine permeated the air, and a curly head was standing in the hut, looking between Kabir and him. Abhay recognized her as Piyashree's protector. "Mishavi right?", he asked and got a glare in return.
"You don't remember my name?", asked the girl looking at him pointedly. "Right ofcourse! You are The King. Why would you remember my name?"
Abhay knew that she would react like this. After all Abhay had himself tutored her and her twin, all the spells and every magic they knew. Abhay had sensed the potential in them and had mentored the twins since they learnt to talk. Their father was one of those rare people that saw Abhay as a friend. And little Misha thought that her father's friend could be nothing but a friend to her as well!
When he had come to know of the agreement between King Pratyaksha and King Vijayendra, he was the one to have suggested Arth and Misha to be the perfect candidates for the protection of the Suryavanshii princess. Misha had cried hysterically, thinking that Abhay did not want to be her friend anymore, so he was sending her away, while Arth had been proud to be considered responsible.
"I said Mishavi, didn't I?" ,snapped Abhay. Had Kabir not been annoying him, he would have kept his tone a little welcoming.
"No. You said - Mishavi right? Which means you weren't sure if Mishavi is my name or not." Kabir chuckled and Abhay ground his teeth. Why did girls have to argue over silly reasons?
Mishavi couldn't believe this. She was meeting Abhay after so long and all he had to ask was if her name was Mishavi or not? Had he ever considered her as a friend? "I hope I am not interrupting an important conversation", she asked in all sincerity.
"No you aren't", said the other man that had the same built like Abhay. He even had similar features and Misha wondered if he was Abhay's brother. But Abhay did not have a family!
"Its good to see a pretty face once in a while", said the man, making Misha pray that she didn't blush. It would be really embarrassing. "Abhay's stale one bores me. So I am grateful that you came."
"Are you Abhay's brother?", she asked. Both men shot her incredulous looks making Misha think if she had done something wrong. "It's okay if you don't want to answer", she said, " It's just that you both have similar features, so I thought-"
"No Misha", said the man, "May I call you Misha?" Misha nodded. "That grumpy man over there is not my brother. I am an only child, a cheerful one unlike him. And excuse my manners, I didn't even introduce myself. I am Kabir."
Kabir? The name rang a bell in Misha's mind. "Are you Kunwar Kabir? Writer of Alaukik Granth?"
"Yeah that one. And here I thought I was known only as an assistance to Abhay", said Kabir grinning. Abhay grunted. "She is asking because your book holds the possibility of putting the princess in danger. Don't inflate your ego by thinking it to be anything else."
"What do you mean? Why would it be any danger to Piya?" Kabir had the innocence of child while Abhay shot daggers at him. Just a while ago when Abhay had said that he shouldn't have told anything about Piyashree to him, Kabir had interrupted him saying that Abhay wasn't allowed to call her Piya. He should call her Princess because that is what Piyashree had herself told him. That was very correct but who gave Kabir the right to call her anything but Princess? "The book is with her."
"What? But how?" , asked Kabir. He was genuinely shocked to know that. "I had asked Pratyaksha to take care of it. How did it reach Piya?"
"How I am supposed to know that? Pratyaksha is an idiot. He must have given it to Vijayendra as a token of friendship." Misha tapped her foot to get Abhay's attention. "What kid?" , he asked.
"KID!?", shrieked a scandalized Misha, "Do I look like a kid to you?"
"No obviously you don't look like one", chirped Kabir, "I think you are a beautiful young lady."
Abhay hated it when Kabir hit on girls shamelessly. "Have some shame Kabir", he said through the mindlink. "I have enough shame. What did I even do?" answered Kabir. Misha just looked between the pair. She knew that they were having a telepathic conversation, but they could have told her to visit later if something very important was being discussed!
"Really? You need to ask me that? Eww Kabir! Stop checking her out like that. Do you have no self-control at all?"
"I am not Siddharth Suryavanshii alright! Will you tell me what's the matter with you?"
"Don't try to act innocent. Do you want me to tell your friend that you were shamelessly eyeing his daughter? Wait until he gives you the talk."
"Why would you do that? I think Misha and I could have a beautiful future."
"Really? You planned your future with her already. How disgusting can you get?"
"You are no fun Abhay. But I am serious. I love jasmine and she smells like it."
Abhay knew that jasmine was Kabir's favorite flower. He loved its fragrance. But was that any reason to believe that Misha could be his future?
"Shall I come later Abhay?", asked Misha impatiently."No wait. Kabir is leaving, right Kabir?"
Kabir loved irritating Abhay but he knew when to stop. If the girl was here to talk to Abhay then there must be something important. "Yeah I think I should get going", he said heading towards the door. Abhay remembered that Kabir had not yet told the reason for his visit. "Wait Kabir", he called out, "You never said why you came here?"
"Oh! I didn't? It's just a fight between two packs of werewolves. One of the packs have involved a witch, and things have turned quite serious."
"What? Why wasn't I informed?"
Kabir gave Abhay a funny look. "One of the Alphas has been trying to contact you whole night but you had shields around that thick skull of yours. I was informed just an hour ago. Pratyaksha told me about your whereabouts. I thought I must ask you before heading towards them."
Misha gulped. She hadn't known that Abhay and Kabir dealt with such things on a regular basis. A fight between werewolves was a dangerous one. Once in their animal forms, the werewolves attacked anything that approached them, and Kabir was saying it like it was a child's game to stop such a war. Was he not afraid of getting severely injured?
Abhay felt extremely guilty. He was the King. It was his duty to take care of such matters and not Kabir's. He hadn't even realized that he was shielding himself from everybody. Was he that lost in Piyashree's thoughts? "Where is this war going on?"
"Some European country", shrugged Kabir, "that wolf wasn't exact with the details. Must have been in the middle of the war. But don't worry I'll handle it."
"No you won't. It's my duty and I would take care of it."
"I have handled things before", said Kabir. Sometimes Kabir found Abhay's concern a little too much to take.
"You haven't handled a werewolf war before", scolded Abhay, "Don't argue! You will not go anywhere."
"Oh but I will", said Kabir stubbornly, "Can't let the bloodshed carry on now, can we?"
"Who said that it would carry on? I will go there."
"Yeah and leave this kingdom knowing that people here could be in danger?", remarked Kabir trying to reason out, "Look Abhay, I know that you won't be able to stay without seeing that the princess is out of harm's way. So what's the point in arguing and wasting time? Let me go. I promise I'll come back in one piece."
Abhay knew that Kabir was right and he was fighting a losing battle by trying to stop him. So, with much hesitance he agreed. "Alright. But if it gets out of control you will let me know."
"Sure", said Kabir etching Abhay a salute, and then he was gone, vanished into thin air.
"What's it kid? ", inquired Abhay, when Kabir was gone. Even if Misha didn't like being called kid, she smiled to herself. Abhay always called her kid when she was a child, and if he was still referring to her as that then he must not have forgotten her, ever.
"I have grown up", she said, "Will you stop calling me that?"
"Would try", shrugged Abhay, "Now tell me what is worrying you.""It's about the princess", said Misha. Worry fleeted across Abhay's features confusing Misha a little. Just the previous evening he was being all rude and now the concern? She would never know what went on in Abhay's mind. Keeping her befuddlement at bay, she spoke, "I don't know why but I always feel as if Piya is somehow related to our world. I mean, I don't know, I can't explain, but there's always this faint aura around her that confuses me. And since last evening, this aura has somehow gotten stronger.Do you think she is in danger?"
Abhay's worry ceased. He would not have been able to explain had he not met Piyashree himself. "Don't worry. Now that I'm here, I won't let anybody hurt her", he assured. "And just so that you stop tiring yourself over the princess, let me give you a hint. I can't read her mind. Her thoughts are shielded from me."
Misha frowned. How could Abhay not read Piyashree's mind? He was a vampire and vampires could read everybody's minds. A thought crossed her mind and her eyes widened, and if the faint smile on Abhay's face was any sign then she had discovered something big.
***********
Misha and Kabir were sitting on the sofa in the hall, Misha's head on Kabir's shoulder and Kabir's arms holding her securely against him. The night had been eventful. Misha, Arth and Abhay had entered the Raichand Residence stealthily. Misha had changed Piya into one of her night gowns. Abhay's blood had been transfused into her system, and her outer injuries had healed. Now they could only wait till all her internal injuries healed too and she woke up from her coma.
Kabir was absent-mindedly playing with Misha's hair. He had taken a long twisted way and gone as far as to sign a deal with the Dobriyals. Why? So, that he could ask for forgiveness for his childish actions all those years ago. Had he listened to her than Piya wouldn't be going through all such trouble. Nobody would have been so down. Other than Abhay nobody knew what had transpired between him and Piya and he wasn't keen on sharing it with anybody. What would Misha think of him? Would she still love him? He couldn't risk that. He couldn't lose Misha. She was his rock.
"I should check on Piya", said Misha. Kabir hummed out a response. Misha stroked his cheek and smiling weakly at him, moved towards Abhay's room.
"Goodmorning", he heard Haseena say. "Its morning already?", asked Kabir. He hadn't noticed how much time had passed since he had been sitting there with Misha. "Yes morning it is", replied Arth from the sofa opposite Kabir's. "Why are you up so early Haseena?"
"Sugandh's nightmare", Haseena answered. Nobody needed to be explained beyond that. "Oh! Is she okay?", asked Kabir. "She would be now that she has gone to talk to Abhay", said Haseena, not noticing two pair of wide eyes sharing a panicked look. "I would have gone with her but you two looked so-" Haseena had not even completed her sentence before Kabir and Arth were rushing towards Abhay's room.
Misha had just entered Abhay's room when Sugandh came there. "Misha did you- Is that Piya?", asked Sugandh, looking at Piya who looked like she was in a deep slumber. Abhay sat on the bed holding Piya's hand, his gaze fixed on her.
Sugandh's eyes became watery. She couldn't find words to speak now that she was seeing Piya after so long. She walked around and sat on the other side of the bed breaking Abhay's trance. He turned to Misha who looked completely helpless. Abhay let out a curse under his breath. This was going to turn downhill.
"So beautiful", said Sugandh, touching Piya's cheek lovingly and turning to smile at Abhay. "She hasn't changed much", she whispered, as if afraid to break Piya's slumber, "just grown a little taller." Misha prayed that Sugandh didn't ask anything. But her prayers went unanswered as Sugandh seemed to realize something. "She is my Piya, right Abhay?", asked Sugandh.
Abhay found himself fumbling for words. How was he supposed to say that he had completely forgotten about the eclipse after Misha explained Piya's situation?
"Wait", said Sugandh, "don't answer that. I know she is my baby. I just know it. But why is she so cold? And her skin, so pale? Is she sick? Abhay? Misha?" Abhay and Misha shared glances, as Kabir and Arth stormed into the room. "Abhay, Sugandh is- Oh", blabbered Arth without even taking a proper look, and stopped abruptly as his eyes fell on Sugandh.
"Sugandh is what? Are you all hiding something from me? Abhay?", demanded Sugandh, "Is Piya sick? Why are you all being so weird?"
"Abhay", said Misha, "Will you please take all this discussion outside? All this noise isn't good for Piya."
Any other time Abhay wouldn't have agreed but presently there was nothing more important than Piya's health. "Out", he said to the boys. "Sugandh, let's talk outside."
Even if Sugandh didn't want to leave Piya, she complied. She didn't want to be the mother that would pull her daughter from her dreamland by being noisy.
"What's wrong with Piya?", she asked once they were out in the hall. "What? Something's wrong with Piya?", asked Haseena who had been stupefied at the reaction of the boys earlier.
Abhay knew that there was no point in lying. Misha had said that Piya's wounds would take time to heal and she wouldn't wake up atleast before two days. "Piya is in a coma", he said making the women gasp.
"What? Who hurt my daughter? Why is she in a coma?", asked Sugandh her voice quivering, tears ready to drop from her eyes. Abhay hated such situations. He had never wanted Sugandh to meet Piya like this. "Sugandh, I-"
"You?", shot Sugandh at once, "Why would you hurt her? You promised you would protect my baby." Abhay looked mortified at the allegation but Sugandh didn't let him explain himself. "Let me guess. You would have found out that she is somehow dangerous to others and so you tried to- "
"Sugandh enough", barked Abhay, "Have you lost your mind? Just because you have a tongue doesn't mean you will say anything you feel like." Everybody flinched at Abhay's tone. "I will never hurt Piya. Get that thing straight in your head."
"Piya wouldn't have been in a coma if you were keeping your promising of protecting her", accused Sugandh. "But obviously how does Piya's safety matter to you? She is just my daughter. Nothing to you!"
"Piya is everything to me Sugandh", said Abhay through clenched teeth, his eyes taking a darker shade, "She matters the world to me because she is not just your daughter but my flame too!"
The information hit Sugandh with full force. She didn't know how to react. Flame? Nature's gifted soulmate? Her Piya was The King's flame!
**********
"She is your flame, right?", asked Misha. Vampires could read everybody's minds except their soulmate's. In the supernatural world every being was gifted with a soulmate or flame. When flames made eye contact for the first time, their eyes glazed golden for a second, notifying the pair of their destined better half. It happened for every specie except for vampires because vampires were the species that had been introduced into nature. Over the years it had been noticed that vampires could not read their flame's minds unless they accepted each other by exchanging blood. So, if Abhay couldn't read Piyashree's mind then the only reason behind it was that she was his flame and he was hers!
"You aren't that dumb as I had thought earlier", said Abhay.
Misha didn't mind his words. Instead, she hugged him. "I am so happy for you Abhay. Piya is a gem of the rarest kind."
*********
"How long have you known about Piya being your flame?", asked Sugandh. They were sitting down on the sofas facing each other, while Haseena had excused herself to attend a call.
"Sorry for interrupting Sugandh", said Haseena heading towards them. "Abhay, I just got a call from the police station."
Abhay raised an eyebrow silently asking her to continue.
"Arnab and Dipannita Dobriyal are there. According to them, Piya has been kidnapped. By Jeh Khurana, CEO of Queen Technologies.
Explain please."

A/N : Turns out it was a filler chapter with no Abhiya at all. But it did give you a sneak peek into Abhay's world, didn't it? Would love to know what you think about this. 😊
PS : Sorry if the pm confused you. I was just being lazy and while copying from the pm for the previous chapter I forgot to change the word "fifth" out there.😆
