😲 I never knew Parashurama knew about Nara-Narayana also. Who is younger then? 😆

] Dambhodbhava with all his troops, desirous of slaying that ascetic, covered all sides with a shower of arrows. That ascetic, however, by means of those blades of grass, baffled all those terrible shafts of the king that were capable of mangling the bodies of hostile warriors. The invincible Rishi then let off towards the king his own terrible weapon made of grass-blades and which was incapable of being counteracted. And highly wonderful was that which happened, for that ascetic, incapable of missing his aim, pierced and cut off, by those grass-blades alone, the eyes and ears and noses of the hostile warriors, aided also by his power of illusion. And beholding the entire welkin whitened by those grass-blades, the king fell at the feet of the Rishi and said, 'Let me be blessed! Ever inclined to grant protection unto those that sought it, Nara then, O king, said unto that monarch, 'Be obedient to the Brahmanas and be virtuous. Never do so again. O king, O tiger among monarchs, a conqueror of hostile towns, a Kshatriya mindful of the duties of his own or, should never, within even his heart, be as thou art. Filled with pride, never insult anybody on any occasion, be inferior or superior to thee. Even such conduct would befit thee. Acquiring wisdom, abandoning covetousness and pride, controlling thy soul, restraining thy passions, practising forgiveness and humility, and becoming amiable, O king, go, and cherish thy subjects. Without ascertaining the strength and weakness of men, never insult any one under any circumstances. Blessed be thou, and with our leave, go hence, and never again behave in this way. At our command, enquire thou always of the Brahmanas as to what is for thy good! The king then, worshipping the feet of those two illustrious Rishis, returned to his city, and from that time began to practise righteousness. Great indeed, was that feat achieved of old by Nara. Narayana, again, became superior to Nara in consequence of many more qualities. Therefore, O king, besides such weapons as Kakudika, Suka, Naka, Akshisantarjana, Santana, Nartana, Ghora, and Asyamodaka, are placed on the string of that best of bows called Gandiva, go thou unto Dhananjaya, laying aside thy pride Struck with these weapons, men always yield up their lives. Indeed, these weapons have other means corresponding with the eight passions, such as lust, wrath, covetousness, vanity, insolence, pride, malice, and selfishness. Struck with them, men are confounded, and move about frantically deprived of their senses. Under their influence, persons always sleep heavily, cut capers, vomit, pass urine and excreta, weep, and laugh incessantly. Indeed, that Arjuna is irresistible in fight, who hath for his friend Narayana--the Creator and Lord of all the worlds--fully acquainted with the course of everything. Who is there in the three worlds, O Bharata, who would venture to vanquish that hero--the Ape-bannered Jishnu--who hath no equal in battle? Countless are the virtues that reside in Partha. Janardana again, is superior to him. Thou art thyself well-acquainted with Dhananjaya, the son of Kunti. They that were Nara and Narayana in days of yore are now Arjuna and Kesava.

The above speech of Parasurama mentions he knows Arjun and Krishna's previous birth story. He gives interesting information about the strange weapons known to Arjuna which he never used. They are different from other Devine Astras in nature .Indeed Kakudika etc create havoc if they are aimed at the rival. Sleeping,Vomiting etc are the results and effects that may make the rival indisposed in the battlefield. Finally through Parasurama People like me got enlightened about the range of Arjun as an archer par excellence.,though it is already a known fact substantiates his range and level.

Sayu can I call you so? Actually Arjun's previous birth is described in two ways. The Five Indra Episode in Adiparv and Nar Narayan revelation at many places Vana Parv Udyogaparv,Dron Parv etc. And above all Krishna's declaration in Gita ' Pandavanam Dhananjayah" Even in Vishnu Sahasranama Viro Ananto Dhananjayah The valorous Dhananjaya is recited as one of the names of the Lord. To me Arjun's Nara incarnation absolutely holds true. He is the Ansh of Vishnu. As for The Five Indras I feel Indra became the medium for Nar to take birth as Arjun. So,obviously Indratej also is present in Arjun. Regarding Arjun 's Mahadev connection yes, even I heard and read it. The admin of Star Plus Factually incorrect Mahabharat once did post Arjun's Siva Tatv and called him Sankar Nar. Sayu I think more with heart and less with mind. I worship Mahadev and Krishn. So to me Arjun is everything Nar,Indr,Shiv. So If I come across that post I will post it here.

Let me analyse my Hero's mindset at that crucial moment on that auspicious Margasirsha Ekadasi morning. The situation in which we find Arjuna in is not enviable at all.He is known for his sensitive nature that makes him stand apart from his Peers. In contrast we see Yudhishtir who though opposed war in the beginning stood firm once it was decided that war is inevitable. For others it may be for their hatred for their opponent side or for the love of their own side.Point to be noted here is none of them were competent enough to raise the question of Dharma and its abstract nature. But Arjun is different. He is capable enough to understand his conflicting emotions and had the intelligence to have clarity regarding them. There are two ways before him.Either to fight paramount, gain his kingdom and redeem themselves from unending troubles Or to stay away from battle that results in saving his kith and kin from death. The issue may look simple at the outset but is too complicated at the inset. Moreover the time he had at his disposal is too short. But he can not afford to be indecisive. He therefore proceeded to decide on the Prima Facie aspects of the case.Arjun reasoned that securing a kingdom at the cost of the lives of his near and dear is not desirable to him. Rather he can live by begging alms renouncing worldly pleasures. But Arjun is clever enough to realise that his reasonings may not be right as at that time he was swayed away by emotions like love for his kinsmen.

I must say a coward will never think this much and makes utmost effort to find answers for his questions. And his friend, guide and Philosopher would never have been able to clear his misconceptions and show him the path of Dharma.if he is just a coward.Arjun is not a stubborn person who gave importance only to his feelings and emotions. He is a trained warrior who always followed the path of Dharma, did penance and served elders. So he is ready to fight even against the dictates of his heart if the rules of Dharma required him to fight. Surely this is not the sign of a coward. There is so much to learn from his confusion, from his sensitivity and from his reluctance to fight. And the Lord knows this better than any one else. He is not dealing with a coward. He is having the task to convince the most intelligent warrior friend of him who will leave no stone unturned to express his doubts and get clear answers for them.

Jai Narayan,Jai Nar.

Read somewhere someone like Devdutt Patnaik claiming Arjun to be a coward for dropping his Gandiv at a crucial moment. So the above post is an attempt to analyse the mindset of Arjun as per my understanding. Again I claim this is not for discussion. By the way in yesterday's episode the way Navi looked at Yudhi when he said that he would like to have Karna on his side, made me dream for that pivotal scene in Karna Parv where Arjun blames Yudhi for asking him to give away his Gandiv. If SIDT graces us that scene Navi would perform so well. Yesterday's look itself seals the fact that Navi is a great performer. He is too good at expressions.Wish him hood luck.

Sometimes I wonder how could a hardcore Shaheer fan like me admire Navi that much. I pondered over it again and again. I realised.-- Shaheer is Arjun himself for me. Navi is performing hundred and ten percent well as Arjun with awesome perfection.
