Chapter 7

There was more than 6 years difference between Maan and his siblings. This did not mean that Maan treated them like kids or had no trust in their cognitive abilities. Yes he was protective of them but had not stifled them. But that could not be told about all. Anni was the first girl child born among generation of male offspring. She was almost treated like a princess but never spoiled. She knew her parents and bade papa's family would stay awake nights if she fell ill while similar concern was not showered on her male siblings. They shielded her. But that does not mean that she was not aware of worldly affairs. The first jolt of awareness about Maan's love life came when at 20 she and Vicky caught Maan and nandini in a heated kiss in his room. It was very awkward to say the least. It was not that she did not know about their affair but this was the first time she saw the physical manifestation of it. Both she and vicky had not looked at each other for several days and avoided each other like plague. Both of them had acted in a double crazy manner in front of their brother. Their parents had not paid much attention to their lack of exchanges thinking it to be a result of some fights which they had regularly.

Slowly in due course of time both of them had reached an unsaid truce where both of them pretended that nothing happened. They behaved as normally as they could in front of Maan. But Nandini was different matter. Both of them were awkward. They felt much more comfortable with Sameera more because of the fact that she was a family friend and more closer to their age.

Vicky and Maan shared the same height and features. However Maan's features had hardened with tides of timewhile Vicky was still boyish. Vicky could bet that in her dark or in hazy mindset many people would confuse him for his eleder brother, so similar did they look sometimes. Sameera had often joked that Vicky was Maan's 6 year younger " 50-50 %" twin. Vicky and Sameera had lately shared an ambition of cracking the Indian Civil Services. Sameera had left her full-fledged job and working with Maan at his office and preparing simultaneously. Infact she had even cracked premlinary round this year. Vicky was sure she would make it this year. He was even more convinced that Sameera was only working because his mother had send her on emotional blackmail ride with his brother.

Both of them heard the news of nandini's pregnancy, abortion and marriage proposal news together. To say they were shocked was an understatement. They had seen their brother crying bitterly with their mother trying to console them. Anni always wondered that how could Nandini have moved ahead at such a short time. She somewhat empathized with nandini too. She understood that since her brother would have gone for long posting with chance of holiday slim , it would have been difficult for Nandini to hide her pregnancy. But still she could not understand the Brij Bhai angle. Both Maan and Brij Bhai had minor difference of age. Both have been compared with each other since their birth and had competed with each other for various things. Anni always thought that it was just a matter of time that Maan bhai and Nandini will be married. So Nandini's marriage with Brij Bhai was shocking to her. Can you marry exes brother after being so intimate with your ex . That set the dye for lifelong awkwardness between herself and Nandini.

It was good that Maan joined some other company instead of theirs. Vicky who was doing his internship in Khurana Ltd. Sometimes felt nauseated on seeing the extreme PDA between Nandini and Brij Bhai. He still was not able to call her Bhabhi in his thoughts. He was civil , like his parents and family, to nandini and called her bhabhi publically. Maan Bhai was extra loaded with work in his new office. Vicky felt relieved each time Maan came late to home and had missed the PDA. He knew that Maan's Boss was actually a Devil incarnate but he thanked her every day for keeping Maan occupied. Lately both Vicky and Anni had realized that their mother had an eye on Sameera. She was not very serious, but if their Maan Bhai did not came up with any new Bahu options, then they will have to start calling Sameera as Sameera Bhabhi very soon.

Maan hovered his laptop cursor on the Send button for the millionth time. He had drafted the mail the instant he had entered the office. It was close to their office closing time now. Maan had finally decided that with this pregnancy and marriage thing, it was going to be very impossible to hide his real identity. The solution now was that he resigns from his current job, convinces Geet on the same day and then join his family business the next day... all in that order. Maan had no idea if this was going to that easy.. But he had no other options. He had been dying to get hold of Geet the entire day.. But her khadoos baap.. Has not left her for a single moment.

In the meantime , he has been trying to avoid Sameera and Adi also. Sam had all valid questions in her eyes.. Eyes which he had resolutely avoided the whole day. Just then Sameera barged in to his desk caught his hand and started dragging him to the nearest meeting room. Come with me.. I have to talk with you ..

Wait.. Shit.. What did u do .. I accidently clicked the mouse.. And the mail is send now.. Oh my God .. Nooo.. I have to retrieve it..

U can retrieve it later .. Almost everyone has left..its about nandini.. Come fast.. To the parking lot..

Geet just received a resignation mail from Maan . This has to be a mistake. Why? Geet started panicking. All her insecurities attacked her at the same time. Was Maan not ready.. Was he running away.. Just then she saw from her office window that Sameera was dragging Maan in the parking lot.. She had to talk with maan. Geet also rushed to the parking lot.

Geet had heard everything. Her mid had become numb after the hearing the punishment word.. Marrying her was punishment for Maan? Her kids were punishment to Maan..No..he was not over his ex yet.. The reason for her pregnancy was his exes pregnancy...And she like a fool had thought that her selfless love will make Maan forget everything. Just then she saw a car hurtling towards 2 people. She recognized both of them , Anni and Vicky.. Maan's siblings. Geet did not think about herself, she rushed towards them , threw Anni off the road but in turn she was hit by the car's side.

Whne she was lying on the road.. Her fuzzy mind saw Maan.. Or someone like Maan... No it had to be Maan... come towards her... Are u alright... don't move I am calling the ambulance.. Stay with me .. Don't die on me please..

Save Our Baby ..Maan..please...

Geet fainted after saying these words.
