CHAPTER 10:RECALLING THE PASTRanveer was pacing through the room back and forth restlessly. Puneet was to call him at any moment now. Ranveer was quite nervous about his plan but he was also determined to teach Raj lesson. He was going to trap Raj in his own trap. He was mad when he first came to know that Raj was using ishani for his evil means. He would have killed him then,if puneet had not calm him down. He couldn't understand why ishani was listening to man, why she was hiding everything from him. He had spied on Raj without letting him know, but then also he hadn't been able to find answers. Raj was very cunning and he knew how to keep secrets.
But it was least of his worries, right now. He knew, once he exposed Raj, ishani would tell him everything herself. He would not have to even ask her. She could never live with such burden on her mind.
Ranveer's chain of thoughts broke as mobile rang violently. He quickly picked up the call.
"Sir, I'm puneet here.Raj wants to do it as soon as possible.we will have to stop him now or I afraid it will be too late."
Puneet said fastly in one breath.
"Calm down,puneet. Everything will go as per our plan. He thinks he knows everything but what he doesn't know,is that he knows only what we wanted him to know. We have tricked him well this time.",Ranveer assured puneet though he himself wasn't too sure about it.
" sir I know. But I even now, would say that you should not do it. It's too risky and if he smells something suspicious, he could do anything."puneet was worried from morning.
"Puneet, nothing like that would happen. Stop worrying. Now listen to me carefully. I will come to restaurant in half hour. There I will tell you some things before going there. Make sure that Raj comes there after me.once he catches me you have to reach there with police. That way we could have him jailed for frauds in company and for attempt to murder." Ranveer said.
"But sir if anything goes wrong, you will be in great trouble. I don't think it's a good idea. Besides I am nervous. What if I do any mistake?", puneet asked nervously.
"Puneet I am counting my life on you. You are most trustworthy person I will ever have. I know that you will not make any mistakes.okay?", Ranveer said softly, in a voice that gave courage to puneet.
" Y...yes sir.I am happy that you trust me so much. I will not let you down. I will be there with police at 4 sharply.but you better be more careful."
Puneet promised Ranveer and cutted the call.
He had to do many arrangements today. His boss was trusting him with his life and he could not let him down. This was why RV was so successful businessman. He could encourage and enchant people with his noble nature and gentle talking. puneet felt proud to work for him.

"Ishani, now I want to hear everything that is going on. Who was the man on call and what you were talking about? Telling him not to do anything?" disha asked ishani who was standing with her back towards disha.
" it's... It's not what are you thinking. I was telling puneet to not to do anything wrong in preparations of marriage. You know ,I don't want any mistakes in my marriage. "Ishani tried to cover up.
" oh come on ishani! We have hired marriage planner for your marriage. Ranveer wanted everyone to just enjoy wedding without doing any work. And you are telling to puneet? Do you think, I don't understand anything? " disha retorted.
"Disha, there's nothing like what you are thinking. I was..." Ishani tried to hide it further but disha cutted her.
"Enough ishani! Don't try to make me fool. I am your sister. Do you think I have not noticed anything? Everyone else hasn't doesn't mean that I too,will not see this. Yes ishani, I'm talking about you and Ranveer. You two are not talking properly nowadays."
"No disha! Nothing is wrong between us and why would be? We are married already and now soon going to marry again. And this time properly!"
"No,no,no! Ishani please tell me what is troubling you. Every time you try to deal with anything singlehandedly, many more problems awaits you. Please ishani, don't do it now. " disha snapped. "Now you are telling me what is going on!"
"Ok disha." Ishani said reluctantly, " I will tell you everything afterwards but for now please leave it. "
"But..."
"No disha, please don't compel me. I will tell you when time is right and trust me. I will not do anything that will hurt anyone. Please don't tell anyone. They will get worried." Ishani assured her.
" OK! You want me to keep it secret, you don't want to talk about it. Ok,but I will agree with a condition. You will have to tell to Ranveer. Tell it to Ranveer now! And if you are not telling him then I can go to family and tell them. Then you will have to speak out. Choose your way. And I don't want any excuses. You can say I'm blackmailing you. Now! Only tell me what you want. " disha threatened ishani in her most dangerous tone which ishani knew too well.
" ok, I will tell Ranveer but please don't speak a word in front of others. I don't want them to worry. I will tell you afterwards. "Ishani said nervously. She didn't want to tell Ranveer about this but disha left no option and ishani knew perfectly that when disha speaks in the tone she was talking in, she means it.
" ok done then!! Go fast! Jiju is in his room.before he leaves, go and tell him everything." Disha told ishani.
She patted lightly on Ishani's shoulders ,encouraging her and giving assuring smile. Ishani smiled nervously. There was no way out now.
She walked out of the room to corridor which lead to Ranveer's room. She slowly climbed the stairs and turned to the right . she walked further to stand in front of the room. But now she grew more nervous by every passing second.
"It's all fine,ishani! You have to just go and tell Ranveer whole truth. Then he will understand your point. He will stand with you. Don't think so much, just go." Ishani murmured to herself.
Hesitantly, ishani knocked on door lightly only to get neel response from inside. She again knocked on door ,this time more firmly. When she again got no response, ishani got worried. She opened the door ,finally throwing away all her hesitation.
She entered the room to look at the now empty room. Surprised,ishani went in to look for him. She checked bathroom to find it empty. Ranveer had never left before like this without meeting her. He would always find time to talk to her every time he went office. But he had left today without even seeing her.
Ishani felt uneasy by this. She knew that from the past few days, they hadn't been talking actually. Either she would excuse herself and go out or he would come late. They both were trying to not to talk to each other. Ishani, because she was afraid that if Ranveer asked her she would not be able to resist herself from telling him truth which she was doing very difficultly. But Ranveer's behavior was becoming a mystery for her. She had reason but why Ranveer was doing that was beyond her thinking. But she hadn't dared to talk to him. They had been talking all these days only on casual topics and about the preparation of their upcoming re-wedding. But in spite of all this things, Ranveer had never once done this, going out without telling her. It was another thing that sometimes she had felt that he was not going where he told her. Who goes out at ten in night in office for checking files?
She wondered where Ranveer was. Perhaps he had not gone out. She turned to the door to leave. She was about to go when she spotted a Paper kept on the wooden table kept near the bed.
Curious about it, ishani came back in the room and picked up the paper to read. But as she read it, she went into the shock.
It was suicide note of Ranveer. Paper fell from her hand as the tears began to roll down her cheeks.
"No,no ! My Ranveer is not one who will suicide. This can't be..." Ishani shivered as she even thought about it. But as fast as she had received shock she managed to mustered herself up. Note had the place mentioned in it. And if it was true she was going to stop him. She was bewildered but she was not one to give up very easily.
She ran out as soon as possible only to meet devarsh and sharman on stairs. Sharman stopped ishani who was in rush.
"Ishani what happened? Why are you looking worried?" Sharman asked ,concerned.
"I ...I have to go! Let me go!" Ishani nearly yelled at him and relieved herself from sharman to go as fast as she can.
"Something is not right, devarsh! Before anything happens we have to know and stop it. Let's go behind ishani. We don't know what is going on and this is the best we can do for now." Sharman said concerned and bemused by Ishani's behavior.
"Yes bhai! Let's go!"
Devarsh and sharman followed ishani who by now had reached out of house and was getting inside the car.

Ranveer took a deep breath to relax himself. Puneet had just gone out of the restaurant and now he was supposed to go to cliff near restaurant. He walked out slowly and headed towards the place. It was only matter of about half hour but it was going to change his life though he didn't know that.
The wind was flowing mischievously as ever making rattling sounds through the trees that surrounded the place. But shrubs were more abundant than trees here, he noticed. He was somehow uneasy about the whole thing, something he hadn't think he would feel with such intensity.
Everything was going fine and as per plan but still he felt something was wrong. Though he had checked everything twice still his mind was busy in finding mistakes he had done.
He reluctantly moved his head sideways and again took deep breath to exhale it away. Nothing was going to be wrong today. His mind wandering in the thoughts of upcoming events finally settled on thoughts of his love, ishani. He had came today without meeting her but it would not matter anymore. He would be with her like always, they would sort out everything between them and will never hide anything from each other. He realized how difficult it was to hide anything from ishani. She would always recognize when he was angry, when he was tense, when he tried to cover up something. But strangely she hadn't asked him about it. He knew something was going on but he couldn't understand it.
"Well, well! Ranveer you are over thinking now . let's just focus on the task at hand." Ranveer snapped himself mentally and smiling to himself, went on the cliff where he was supposed to stand.
To his shock he found Raj standing there with his men.
"You...?what are you doing here?" Ranveer asked him as per plan though he knew that something had indeed went wrong .
Raj was supposed to come here after nearly fifteen minutes. He couldn't have come to know about this earlier. But if this was the case then he was going to hold them for more time, keeping them busy in talks somehow.
Raj laughed maniacally. He stopped laughing after some time and with the gestures that had anger ,said,
"So, you think that I am idiot? That you will cheat me so easily! No Mr. RV , you are wrong here. This is not your business where you will play games and easily win them. This is my game and I will win here. You may have defected me in business but you can't here. This is my empire!"
With this, Ranveer knew that his plan hadn't worked out as it should be. But he was not going to give up.
"I don't know what you are talking about. I am not going to fight with you. The competition between us is over long ago back, when you had lost your business due to your own silly mistakes. "
"No RV, you're wrong. Our rivalry Will not end till I win. And why you are even trying to show as if you don't know anything! Well, I admit that for some time, you succeeded in deceiving me but nothing could be hidden from my eyes for too long."
"It wasn't my mistake that you lost everything. I had warned you and you are here blaming me? Had you agreed on for our partnership I would have done something but you were not interested. You always thought of me as opponent and that's why you were ruined."
Ranveer exclaimed. By now Ranveer knew that Raj had gone beyond all of these things but it was only way he could stop Raj till puneet come.
Raj smiled cunningly and said,
"Do you think that you have called me here or I don't know what are you trying to do? Come on RV , we both know each other's plan by now. I know how you tried to trap me and you know how I plotted against you. You are really good but not as me. I found out why you left that note behind, to mislead me , but that would never happen again, because I am going to do as you have written in that note. So congratulations RV , you are doing suicide! But the most funny part is that no one else will know that you have not committed it."
Raj laughing devilishly, waved his hand to signal his men.
Ok then! If you know everything then I will also talk with you directly. If you want to kill me then do it but before that I want answers, answers to my questions." Ranveer said looking straight into raj's eyes.
"Ok, ask what you want to but remember you have only three minutes to complete your little session."Raj too, said without taking his eyes from the Ranveer's.
" why you involved ishani in all of this? She didn't even know who you are. Then why?"
Raj smiled cunningly.
"I knew you would ask that! You know what, people like you have only one weakness, love. How could I ignore it? I involved her because she was only one you would never doubt on. I trapped her and she easily fell into it. It's very easy to fool people who are in love, you see. You ruined my everything and to such extent that if I want to start afresh, no one would work with me. So I also decided that you too,should not have all of this, reputation, money,property and love. It was obvious my dear friend! I did that to distract you from me,but you was more wise than I thought. You followed her and reached to me. But I used this to my advantage and see where you are today. It was unexpected for me that you will know about me and for that I appreciate you but you know what Ishani was your strength and now she has become your weakness."
"Ishani was never my weakness. She was and will always be my strength." Ranveer said angrily, stressing every word.
Ranveer kicked off one of the goon. This was enough to start fight in already tensed atmosphere.
"Throw him off the cliff!",Raj yelled at the men.
" that's not that easy, Raj" Ranveer shouted, punching the guy in front of him and blocked off the kick of another one.
While two of them were fighting with Ranveer third one who had been knocked out first by Ranveer's kick, gained consciousness. Raj went near him.
"Hey, get him down the cliff as soon as possible!" Raj shouted at him." Stand up,quickly! We don't have time. "
The distant and faint sounds of sirens could be heard in background. Raj panicked by the sounds, yelled at the man again,
"Just go and do it. I will give you extra money for this."
The man stood up and nodded at him. By now distant rush of cars and feeble sounds of running could be heard from distance. It would be matter of few minutes before they would reach here. Raj took a glance towards Ranveer who had already knocked out other one and was fighting with the other. He ran towards nearest shrubs where many trees and shrubs formed good hiding place.
Ranveer with a swift move, attacked the goon who blocked it off and picking his another companion who was unconscious, ran off behind Raj. Ranveer noticed the feeble sounds of sirens now. He quickly understood why everyone was running. He smiled to himself. Finally puneet had came and now nothing was going to be wrong. He let his instinct relax for a while and that's where he faltered. The guy delivered a punch in his back. Ranveer fell to ground next moment. Guy laughing, came near the Ranveer.
"You were going to put us all in jail,don't you? By the way, that's never going to happen now. Oh,You are bleeding! Does it hurts? Don't worry, soon, you will forget all pain forever."
He grabbed Ranveer by coller and pulled him near the edge. He made Ranveer stand up.
"Good bye, Mr. Ranveer waghela!"
"Not so soon!" Ranveer grawled and pushed him with full force. He got pushed to opposite side. He tried to come towards Ranveer again but his feet slipped off and he fell from the cliff. Ranveer tried to give hand to him but he couldn't reach in time to grab his hand.
The next moment Ranveer felt the ground beneath him slipping. He tried to balance himself but it was useless. He looked below to find that the portion they were standing on was crumbling down to below.
Next moment Ranveer found himself in void.
"Ishani!"
He shouteded out the only thing that was occupying his mind at the time.
"Ranveer!"
He heard ishani call him distantly. He tried to extend his hand upwards longing to touch her for once, to see her for once. A tear fell from his eyes unknowingly. He felt like dying thousand times before actually dying. If this was his end, he wanted to see ishani for once,hear from her once and then he would be able to die easily. His only worry was ishani. Would she be able to live when he was leaving her like this? He could feel wind resisting his fall, creating fluttering sound with his coat but he couldn't hear anything. He felt his head banged against something hard and next thing he knew was the excruciating pain in every part of his body. Last thing he remembered before passing out was blur green colour around him.
"Ranveer"
ishani yelled out with the every piece of strength she could find. Ranveer was falling before her eyes, below in the valley, shouting her name. She felt all her world shattering to the pieces. She fell on her knees, tears falling off her eyes while her face remained blank. Everything was becoming blur for her.
'No! I couldn't lose him, not at any cost! Even if being with him means death!"
Ishani stood up next moment, and ran to the edge from where Ranveer had fallen. But before she could reach half of the distance, she was caught by someone's hands, later joined by four more. She tried to fight them off, yelling Ranveer's name at the top of her voice, but she couldn't escape from the clutches of the hands. She tried to fight till the moment she can before she blacked out.

"Ranveer!" ishani shouted.
"Ishani,what happened? Is everything all right?"
Ranveer asked her ,worried. He pulled her close to him and wiped the sweat off her head.
"You ok?" He asked again. " we will reach at home in five minutes. "
"Yeah,yes. I'm... I'm fine. Just remembered something." Ishani answered.
"You better keep me in your mind" said Ranveer smiling naughtily at her.
"Shut up, Ranveer!" Ishani retorted, leaning on his shoulders,lovingly.
Saurabh smiled to himself, hearing everything while driving. Lily was sitting with him ,telling him the way.
'So! They're finally together! And happy too! How I wish someone would be there for me like this! Loving and understanding me always, no matter what happens! I'll wait for the day."thought Saurabh and took a swift turn to left to reach to lily's house.
