Hi friends 😊. I'm back with the last part of this TS. Please do read and comment. Part 3
Raman went to the doctor's cabin with appa and Mr. Bhalla. By the time Dr. Manoj has arrived there too. When they entered the doctors were in a serious discussion.
"Doctor how is my baby? What will I tell Ishitha?"
"Look Raman. We're trying our best. There's 50% chance of life of your baby. I can't promise you Raman. You have to be strong for Ishitha right now. Try to handle her once she gains conscious. Its not easy. And it's not good for her to be in too much stress right now" said Dr.manoj pressing Raman's shoulder.
"I'll do anything for Ishitha doctor. Our baby is her life. Please save him"
"We're doing our best Raman. Pray for the baby's life."
Raman came out of the doctors cabin totally lost how to control Ishitha. He was walking in the hospital aimlessly when he saw a small temple in the hospital. He went there and cried for a long time.
"Please bhagwan save our baby. My Ishitha won't bare the pain if something happens to the baby. Please save our baby"
While Raman was crying there Romi came and told him that the doctor asked him to see the baby. Only he was allowed to go in. He was feeling so weak when Dr.Manoj came and held his hand. Don't worry see your baby. Raman could see his tiny baby just like a piece of chalk kept in an incubator with monitors all around him. His nose was connected to some tubes which was the ventilators which supported him to breath. He went near the baby. His eyes welled up. He couldn't take it anymore he went out of the room. Dr. Manoj asked him to be strong and go near Ishitha.
He made up his mind that somehow he need to be strong for Ishitha so he washed his face and went to the room in which Ishitha was sleeping. He sat near her and gently caressed her hair. After sometime he felt Ishitha was waking up. She smiled at him. He held her hands and asked "How are you feeling? "
"I'm fine Raman"with that she took one of her hands from Raman and caressed her stomach. She touched her stomach several times and realised that it was flat once again "Raman our baby " Ishitha shouted to which the whole family came inside the room. Amma and Mrs.bhalla was crying seeing Ishitha's state.
" Raman where is our baby? How did my stomach become flat? " Ishitha was breathing heavily.
"Ishitha please calm down. Doctor did a ceaseran. It was a premature birth. Baby has some problems so baby is in an incubator " said Raman helplessly.
"Nooo..."
"No Raman our baby should be fine. We took care of him. Nooo..." and Ishitha fainted.
The doctor came and checked her and said she was too shocked to the situation. And that he'll give her an injection to sleep for 18 hours.
Raman sat near Ishitha so broken seeing her state.
" Ishitha please I can't bare more. We'll fight this together. I promise nothing will happen to our baby. "
Raman soon drifted to sleep near Ishitha when mihika came and woke him up.
"Jiju Adi and Ruhi is here. Simmi di brought them with Rinki. They want to see you "
"Ok let's go. Nurse is here nuh "
Seeing him Adi and Ruhi came running to him.
" Papa where is ishimaa? And where is our baby? "
Raman sat and took Ruhi on his lap and made adi sit beside him. "Your ishimaa is sleeping now. Doctor has given medicines for her. Your brother is so small and is sick. For now he needs a machine's help to breathe so doctor will give him us later."
Hearing to this they became sad but asked " Can we see ishimaa? Please papa we won't trouble her. We promise. "
" Ok let's go but don't make noise ok "
" Ok papa "
" They went to see Ishitha. Both Adi and Ruhi kissed Ishitha in both her cheeks. Even the nurse felt sad seeing them. Raman took the children out and hugged them both. He felt a bit relieved. The children fell asleep in his embrace while he asked Mihika to send someone in as he wants to stay with the children for sometime.
Mihika went inside as amma and Mrs. Bhalla refused to see Ishitha in that state. After a while Romi and Bala took the children to the hotel with the others while Raman remained in the hospital with Ishitha. He sat staring at her sleeping figure and soon slept hugging her in a sitting position while Ishitha too snuggled to him in her deep sleep seeking the warmth of her husband.
Next morning Dr.Manoj woke up Raman and asked him to see the baby. Once again with fear he visited that room. Again his eyes welled seeing the state of his baby but he gained strength to wait there for sometime.
After the visit to the baby Raman had changed due to the insistence of Adi and Ruhi and went back to Ishitha's room while the family stayed outside. At around 11 in the morning Ishitha woke up and looked at Raman's tired face which reminded her of what happened. Her eyes welled up and she silently sobbed.
Raman tried to make her talk but she was silent. She answered to few of adiru's questions but didn't talk to anyone else during all the time she clinge into raman as if her life depended on him.
3 days went by. Ishitha was silent. It was very hard for raman to bare the silence of his wife. He kept on treating her, helping her in dressing up, combed her hair but she was silent. One day after he visited the baby he did his daily cores these days with Ishitha. He was tired and broken due to this silence of Ishitha so he spoke "Ishitha please speak to me. I can't bare your silence anymore. Your my strength and if you're silent can you imagine how weak I am. We will face this together ishitha. Please talk to me. I can't take this anymore. I'm breaking down" saying this he walked out of the hospital room when Ishitha called him " Raman "
Raman turned around to see whether his ears were deceiving him or whether it's really her. He was happy to see her forwarding her hands for him for an embrace. He soon ran to her and took her in an embrace and cried his heart out. He kissed all over Ishitha's face and said " Don't worry Ishitha nothing will happen to our baby. You trust me nuh? "
" Yeah " she said snuggling to him. " Raman can I see him ".
Raman was first scared to show her but thought that maybe that would be a good option as well. So he told " I have to ask the doctor "
Dr.manoj approved Ishitha's visit to the baby and said maybe the baby would respond more to his mother as he slightly responds with raman's visits as well.
Raman took Ishitha to the room in which their baby was. From the way Ishitha held into him Raman knew that she was very nervous. But he knew she was a much stronger woman and she could take this with his support.
Ishitha's eyes welled when she saw her baby in a glass incubator surrounded with machines and the ventilator connected to his little nose. Dr.manoj checked the machines and informed that there is an increase in the response of the baby so asked Ishitha to slightly touch the baby. Eventhough she herself was a doctor she was scared but as Raman whispered " Ishitha I'm here. Just do what the doctor says. We can do anything for our baby right ".
These words of Raman gave great strength to Ishitha that she touched the baby's cheek a bit. She was so scared as her baby looked so fragile. The moment Ishitha touched the baby Dr.Manoj's face lit and said "He's responding. I think we can soon remove him from this."
Those words were the best words for ishra after a long time. The family was so happy to listen that the baby is responding now and is normal.
The next day the doctors removed the baby from the incubator and brought him to Ishitha's room and handed him to her. The baby had a nice smile once he was given to his mother. Everyone was having their chance to look at the baby. Raman had tears in his eyes to see his baby finally safe and sound with them.
" Ishimaa thebaby is so pinky pinky nuh. But papa said baby is a boy. So how did he become pink ". Everyone laughed to ruhi's innocent question.
Offo buddhu all babies are pink colour when they are small. It doesn't matter whether it's a boy or girl "
"Haww. Really papa. Was adi baiyya pink when he was a baby too? "
" Yeah Ruhi just like this chotu brother of yours your adi baiyya was also a small pink baby " said Raman kissing ruhi's cheek.
" So cute"
The baby suddenly started crying to which all got worried but the nurse came and instructed all to go out for the mother to feed the baby. All went out leaving ishra and the nurse with the baby. The nurse helped ishitha to feed the baby. Ishitha's eyes welled feeling the baby having milk. The middle aged nurse smiled lovingly and caressed Ishitha's hair and said " You must be feeling heaven " to which Ishitha nodded with teary eyes while raman sent a silent prayer to matarani thanking her.
After a month
The bhalla house was so noisy getting ready for the arrival of ishra and the baby from kolkata. Dr. Manoj adviced them to stay back at kolkata for a month until the baby is completely stable to return back to Delhi.
So today after a month ishra was coming home with their new born baby and the family has arranged a grand welcome and the naming ceremony as well.
"Daadi...Daadu...Papa and ishimaa is coming with our brother " came ruhi and adi running inside the house so excited.
Mrs. Bhalla went near the main door with the aarti taali and saw ishra coming with the baby in Ishitha's arms. Mrs. Bhalla did aarti and welcomed them to the house. Everyone was so excited to see the baby after sometime.
" Ishimaa..."
" Ishimaa, papa we made a welcome card for the baby. Here"
"Wow very nice. Your brother will be very happy"
" But ishimaa he can't read nuh" said Ruhi innocently.
"Rooh your brother will read it once he gets big. We'll keep it safe"
"Ok papa "
" Ishitha puttar pandit is calling. Bring the baby for the naming ceremony"
" Ok papa. Ishitha let's go"
And then they sat for the puja with the baby. After sometime the pandit asked for a name for a baby.
" Raman did your'll think of a name for the baby?"
" Ansh" said ishra together. "Our baby's name will be ansh. Our symbol of love " said ishra looking at little ansh who was smiling looking at his parents.
Everyone was so happy to listen the name and then they took chances in pampering the baby while ishra hugged each other signing with relief that at last they have got their symbol of love.
