ok I have bashed asr...a lot.But this...whoever we saw in the episode 1 of EJ is not asr...it is not even a believable version of arnav.
He was the way he was because of himself...not even his past...all of us have different ways of reacting and dealing with the ugly incidents in our lives...and the way he reacted was a reflection of his personality,right?...so the arrogance,the snark is HIM...NOT HIS PAST...that is what made anjali and asr different...their different personalities that made them react to their past in different ways.
Am i making sense here?able to put my point across?

I don't want manhandling and screaming and pulling...I have bashed this then too...but some elements of asr which can be retained SHOULD be retained,right?...a believably mellowed down version of him...that is all...why would you employ home servants if you are going to do the jobs that are supposed to be done by them yourself.

We have had out of character reactions out of arnav before this...I am hoping this is just one of those episodes and in everything else he is a believable arnav with some positive points of asr too...

I didnt want to have complaints with this but I cant help it if I don't even get arnav khushi!..

I think, you should close your eyes when Arnav is using that grinding stone in the kitchen. That bit was shown. So, there's definitely more of this diabetes-inducing sugary sweet Arnav, still. I wish they would just tone it down. I wish they would make him snap a little. I mean, be a total joru ka ghulam, I would love it. But, where is the snark & the dry humour that's characteristic of Arnav Singh Raizada, some of his more positive traits, which I hope the amnesiac writers haven't forgotten about.

Lol haha at the disclaimers. Thank god I was prepared for the message.

Yeah the writing and epi was cheesy to an extent. But I guess it's like he is showing off he has changed alot.

But writers made arnav bow down to khushi in the garden scene so I guess that and the towel dance... Both were so cringeworthy. So i thought this was too sugary but at least not some silly random thing.

ASR was retained in the anniversary forgetting each year matter in this new one.

PS - arnav seems to be doing all the work BTW. Grinding masala with the mortar and watering his plants in BTS videos. It's like he used to order things over the phone to surprise her. Now he does on his own. 😆

Overall I agree that he needs his cute badas* ability intact.

You make perfect sense. Infact the first time I saw the epi I could not understand much cos I don't Know Hindi. But when I read the WU n saw it, I was a little miffed with the way things were handled. I don't know if it's just me but I am not a very big fan of " happily ever afters ". As in why do fairytales end with a "happily ever after"? It's cos the " reality strikes" then. So while I was totally cool with an ASR whose left his insecurities n past behind and has mellowed down, a 360 degree change in his personality is a bit too much. They should have kept a few traits intact.

However, when I saw ASR I realized how much I had missed the character and missed watching BS play ASR, so I was also hoping for some fireworks. Maybe it's too early to say and in the upcoming epis we get some traits of the man back, but given the epi 1, he surely looks like a doppelgnger of ASR. And JUST so that we are clear here, my grouse is with the writers and not with the actor, I adore BS as ASR anyhow. Infact it's watchable cos it's him. But CVs and their way of handling things left me asking for more.

why u all are forgetting, even during early episodes like Payash marriage, the ASR was shown dancing and serving food as a waiter.

that thing is in him.

for Khushi, ASR is different. he is totally her arnavji.

Hi .. I respect your opinion totally . but I have a different opinion about the episode .. It left a feel good feeling.. Exhilaration ..yes there were some negative points about the episode ..but for me positives were more

Ok so the thing is that I was not expecting this kind of detailing from star india..I was not expecting this kind of effort that was put up...

They started ..with the snaps of all those famous scenes ..that has special place in a fans heart... That montage made my heart swell...

Yes to me barun looked a bit clueless. In the beginning of that episode ..but I gave him the benefit of doubt that he just woke up ..i mean arnav..nd was as clueless as he looked..nd after that he looked arnav..

This episode was mainly about introduction to what has arnav felt all these years.. What he felt when he met her..he was supposed to talk... And he was talking..there was no reason to snap...or get angry..he forgot his anniversary the third tym.. And that to me was a typical arnav ..completely completely expected ...

Now coming to the sugary arnav that every one has been talking about..well I did not find him sugary..but in love ..totally ... I was not able to connect to that arnav who stood there when shyam was insulting khushi on his revelation to Anjali.. I could not connect to that arnav..who never realised when khushi left ..when he was busy threesoming with sheetal and arav.. I could not connect to that arnav who insulted khushi when she insisted that arnav was being lenient towards arav..so yes this character was in the verge of complete deterioration.. But thankfully it ended..

About arnav doing things for khushi well he did earlier also.. He made jalebis for her.. That for me was the sweetest thing he did... Though that towel dance was embarrassing.. So I am happy they have still not destroyed the character..

I used to have goose bums the moment arnav called khushi as his biwi... His voice always had that tinge of possessiveness in it.. Or thats what I found.. Happened again yesterday when he said how he can't imagine his biwi doing all that antics.

I love how he said Di always agrees to khushi...

Yes I agree that getting the coffe part was a bit overdone. U are a tycoon..u ought to order ur servants. They overdid it a bit..they wanted to show how khushi asked him tone down..since he used to horrify the prakash brothers..

Also I felt the word panga had a barunish tint to it..in fact the entire line was barun-sanayafied

But the scene that stole my heart was when he was describing when he actually fell in love with khushi..we always discussed on forum that he fell thenn but did not agree ..did not want to accept .but we got to listen it from the horse's mouth..and in what a way.. Beautiful dialogues...delivered beautifully.. If he could just see his eyes when he was saying this...barun and sanaya are both very expressive as far as eyes are concerned ... Ok so coming back to the scene.. He said ek dhun baji thi..and they played rabba ve.. I was like they actually remember when this dhun played for the first time...I was so very not expecting it..it touched my heart.. They actually gave some value to the fans feelings..because rabba ve is special to every fan... I was actually a goner by then..

So yes I respect the effort that has been out in to impress the fans of a show that ended three years back..with a bitter note.

I appreciate it a lot..and hence m ignoring the mistakes..specially the bloopers that we saw in form of pictures selected to adorn their wall..

Also the fact that we are seeing a couple that has touched our hearts for life..whom many of us can't see with other partners. Including the real life ones ..(hehehe..) Are together again..even when they were no hopes for the same..they are creating the same madness again...forum has completed 7 pages in a day.. The craze is same..the madness i same is making me overlook everything ..every damn thing..my heart is just surging with happiness..

I m just sooo happy to get IPK all over again...

And ofcourse, it won't b perfect...for me it's perfect but if u look at this from other point of view like directions...screenplay and other things like photos on the wall , it never gonna b 100% perfect.

It's just a show. It was not 100% perfect even back then ( 3yrs before)

But I just simply love IPK, ArShi, SARUN and whole IPK cast without any logics 😃

Yes I do agree with you...with khushi for khushi he tends to go out of way...the aSR that we saw in 2011 did not have it in him to flirt .. He was used to being flirted with..to teg point talks .even with his girlfriends... But with khushi..he did and how..still makes me blush..

The ASR we knew would not dance..would not serve food ..to mere people and adhere when being called a waitor...The ASR we knew would not enact a ranjha.. Would decorate a house for marriage..would not indulge in an employe's matter dowry or no dowry ... The ASR we knew would snap out when some one threw a hit during tea at him..his mistake or not... The ASR we knew would not sit down to put some coins in a surf packet...silently hiding ..The ASR we knew would not come town to decorate lights...The ASR we knew would not participate in a stupid suicide game...The ASR we knew would not arrange a birthday celebration for some..heck he din't even wish anybody...The ASR we knew would not go and watch a salman khan movie ..The AsR we knew would not try making a coffee forget jalebi...Hell the ASR we knew would not marry a mere gal only because he thought that she is thinking of spoiling his di's marriage...The ASR we knew would not step into a mandir. .The ASR we knew would feel embarrassed if someone who comes with him in a restaurant embrases him ...he would never say sorry on their behalf. The ASR we knew would not get a mehendi done on his hands...well this list can go on and on...hell he went through the torchure of marrying twice ..someone who don't believe in marriage

He has gone out of his way...done beyond his believes ..done beyond our expectations ..just for one person..khushi...whether we accept it o not..the transformation started when khushi fell in his arms...

Nice post girl, perhaps necessary. ASR certainly has turned into a tamed mountain lion or pussy cat as so many have said! But hmm...on the flip side, when was IPK and outer love for it at all logical? We watch it for what it is...a love story and an amazing soul connection between two disparate individuals...ofcourse inherent characters should not change. In an ideal world. But a person in love might well decide to change himself for the person he cares for - particularly, a strong man who is quite besotted! So that may explain it? Hmm...anyway, always thought ASR would be a renaissance man of sorts, which he has finally turned into! Loved the Jashan anyway!
