CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO OF THEIR LIVES: DENIAL

Rey jumped from the window...

Kriya was still in a shocked state

The door opened,and kriya's mom entered with the phone...

Smriti: kya hua kriya,koi bhoot dekh liya kya? Aise kyun khadi hai?

Kriya coming back to her senses: nehi mom wo,kuch nehi

Smriti: achha ye le,neha ka phone hai

Smriti gave her the phone and left the room

Neha and kriya convo over phone:

Neha: hey kriya

Kriya(she was still unable to process everything): hmm

Neha: listen sweety,I think we need to talk,there is a thing in my mind for sometime now

Kriya: ok

Neha: ok! Wat ok!!! kriyaaa!! R u even listening??

Kriya: ya ya neha,wat were u telling

Neha: wats wrong with u?

Kriya(rapidly): kuch bhi to nehi

Neha: listen we need to catch up,kal college ke baad baat karte hain,thik hai?

Kriya: college ke baad??

Kriya was remembering that rey has also asked him for an answer

Kriya(in her mind): sab ko itni baatein kyun karni hai

Neha: kyun koi prob hai kya?

Kriya: nehi nehi problem nehi,but I was thinking,ghar pe baith ke baat karte hai

Neha; haan ye bhi thik hai,chal thik hai,iss weekend mein tere ghar aati hu

Kriya: alright

Neha: byee ,c u tomorrow then

Kriya: ya byee

Kriya went off to bed,and this time closing her windows,she had a fear of rey again appearing in her room in midnight through the window

Kriya wasn't able to sleep at all...whenever she was closing her eyes,images of her and rey were flashing in front of her eyes

Rey confessing his love,rey coming close to her,rey kissing her hand,the way his lips were caressing her face

Rey was making her feel things,no one has ever made her feel,she was blushing...

Kriya was sure that her heart has stopped working when rey came so close to her

Kriya sat up in her bed in a jerk

Kriya muttering: kya soch rahi hai kriya,this is not for u,these feelings are not right,love always hurts,and I don't have the capability to withstand any more hurt,I can't let rey do these things to me

Kriya: shit,why didn't I stop him,why do I get numb whenever he comes close to me,but the question is did I really wanted him to stop

Kriya:gosh,kriya,kya kar rahi hai,apne life mein love jaise complexity mat ghusa,I will tell rey tomorrow only, that this can't be happening

Kriya had a disturbed night altogether

Next day in college,

The classes went on the same way

Kriya was avoiding rey in the most desperate manner ever invented...

Rey was smirking seeing kriya playing hide and seek with him

The professor informed them that coming week ,classes will be off

Everyone was cheering ,when vicky got a plan in his mind

Vicky: hey guys chalo sab milke kal goa chalte hai

Sharon: vicky,that's a great plan!!! Par kal!! Mein packing kab karungi

Vicky: haaan haan sharon tujhe to ek week lagta hai,packing karne ko

Rey and nil laughed and hifived vicky!!!

Sharon: very funny !!

Rey: sharon babe,impromptu trips mein zyada mazaa aata hai!!!!! and waise bhi u will look hot in whatever u wear!!

Rey winked at sharon

Sharon(smiling,and faking attitude): that's true

Sharon: oi swayam,tum bhi chal rahe ho na?

Swayam: ya ,goa sounds a good plan,kyun kriya?

Kriya: haan plan to achha hai,lekin mom se permission lena padega

Rey: arey,mom se mein pooch lunga,wo mujhe maana nehi karegi

Kriya's eyes were almost bulging out,seeing rey flirting in front of all of them,and to divert everyone's attention

Kriya: no its okay,I will talk to her

But despite kriya's efforts, rey's comment was not missed by others.

Swayam was a little sad seeing kriyansh close,but nevertheless he was trying to hide that

Sharon understood that swayam is getting upset about kriyansh

Neha was already suspicious of rey,and her suspicions grew stronger

Though rey flirted with all the girls (in a friendly way ofcourse),But vicky knew him from childhood,and he understood that this was not rey's usual flirting,and something more was cooking

Swayam(in his mind): is there something more between them, do I have the right to talk to her about this or have I lost that right...

Sharon(in her mind): I think,i should talk to swayam

Rey(in his mind): I need to talk to kriya soon

Kriya(in her mind): I don't want to talk to anyone,I want to hide somewhere universeejee

Neha(in her mind): I have to talk to kriya today only...

Vicky(In his mind): I have to talk to rey,uske dimag aur dil mein kya khichdi paak rahi hai.,mujhe pata karna hoga

Kriya was leaving the college in a rush,to avoid any more questions when Rey pulled her in the fireexit

Rey smiling, caged her between the wall and himself by holding her shoulders.

Rey: bolo

Kriya(pretending to be ignorant ): kya?

Rey(arching his eyebrows): as if u don't know wat I am talking about

Kriya: I don't know ,wat u r talking about

Kriya tried to break free of his grip

Rey(getting angry,seeing kriya ignoring his feelings like this): don't pretend kriya,something is between us,and u know it,so just admit it

Kriya(in a determined manner): there is nothing between us

Rey was hurt listening to this,and he dropped his hands,kriya saw him,and her heart was also aching but she was afraid to listen to her heart

Kriya moved up,she had just moved on step up,when rey spoke again

Rey: achha to kal jo hua

[rey was facing the wall where kriya was caged,and kriya's back was facing him]

Kriya: rey please,I wasn't thinking straight,itna sab,itne jaldi ho gaya,I couldn't stop u

Rey(he was suppressing his hurt and anger): did u wanted to stop me?

Kriya(frustratingly): I don't know

Rey angrily pulled kriya so that he can face her face to face

Rey(angrily): then wat u know kriya!!

Kriya(scared to see rey like this,but not showing her weakness): I just know that I can't feel like this,I can't fall in love,rey we are good friends that's it,there cannot be anything more than that

Rey(in a serious manner): do u have feelings for me?

Kriya(sighing): rey

Rey banged the wall with his fist

Rey(aggresively): dammit kriya tell me,do u love me,do u have feelings for me?

Kriya(couldn't handle this question,bcoz she didn't liked lying to him): rey please stop asking this question!!! I don't feel anything for anyone!!!

Rey(angrily): tum kya kehna chahti ho? That u don't feel jealous when I flirt with other girls,that u don't blush when I give u the slightest compliment,that u don't dress up for me,that ur heartbeats dont skip a beat when I come close to u,u don't feel nervous when I touch u???

Kriya(almost breaking down): rey,please,don't do this,just accept this fact,this can't be happening between us

Rey looked intently at kriya,aggresively: this is already happening between us kriya,u r just in denial

Rey distanced himself from her,looked at her face and left the fireexit in angst

Kriya was almost on the verge of tears

Kriya came back home,she was hurt,she was upset,but she convinced herself that it was the right thing to do,to protect herself from getting more hurt

Kriya wasn't able to concentrate on anything,and this incapability was making her more angry,she threw her diary on the floor,when neha stepped in

Neha: hey kriya,wat happened? Tu cheezein kyun fek rahi hai?

Kriya trying to calm her nerves: wo,kuch nehi,mein ek cheez dhud rahi thi,tu yaha?

Neha: haan,maine socha kal to goa ja rahe hai,so weekend se achha hai,kea j hi tujhse baat karlu,by the way,,tu aa rahi hai na goa,aunty se baat kar li?

Kriya: maine abhi tak baat nehi ki hai

Neha: Arey jaldi kar le,aj to mein bhi hu,eksathe baat kar lenge,and I am sleeping over here tonight

Kriya(trying to fake a smile):that's good

Neha: so I wanted to talk to u,about u and rey?

Kriya was dumbstruck!!

Kriya: what about that?

Neha: well, I saw those look exchanges between u guys in classrooms,and also I recent witnessed some weird behavior from u

Kriya: kya bol rahi hai tu

Neha: I don't know,that's why I am asking u na,is there something going on between u two?

Kriya: kuch nehi , we are ...just good frnds

Neha: so wo aj jaise wo baat kar raha tha

Kriya(trying to hide her feelings): are u know na,he always jokes and flirts,he is never serious

Neha: but u r

Kriya: kya bol, rahi hai tu

Neha: dekh kriya,mein nehi jaanti tere dil mein kya hai,but u r my friend since childhood,and I am very protective for u,maybe I am being overprotective,but mere jo bhi dil mein hai,I want to tell u,I want to warn u beforehand...aur kuch nehi to mera dil halka ho jayega

Kriya looked apprehensively at neha

Neha: u and rey are very different,kriya. U r a very simple,introvert girl,while rey is an extrovert,he flirts with girls,infact most of the girls are dying to be his girlfriend. U always think about ur future,infact u plan ur actions in that way only whereas rey is a type of guy who prefers in living in the moment,he is not that future planning kind of guy. U r very different from his world. U guys are just opposite,and I know "opposites attract" but I don't want u to get hurt ever,if u ever fall for him. Bcoz there might be a chance that u r just a challenge to him,as u r so different,and if that ever be the case then ur feelings will get hurt.

Kriya wasn't telling anything,but all these things were making her more upset

Neha: dekh kriya,I am always with u,tu jo bhi karegi ,I am with u,I just don't want u to get hurt in any way,that's why was warning u

Kriya: hmm

Neha: now cheer up,we have to plan for goa na

Kriya faked a smile: yaa

Neha took kriya and went to talk to smriti about goa... smriti gave her permission,neha helped kriya with packing... kriya wasn't showing but she was hurt,bcoz whatever neha told,it made kriya more convinced that she did the right thing,but her heart was disturbing her reminding her of rey's face...

Meanwhile

Rey was playing basketball with vicky,and he was venting out all his anger on the game

While playing,

Vicky: tere aur kriya ke beech kya khichdi paak rahi hai?

Rey was shocked: khichdi wat?

Vicky: khichdi khichdi,arey ye ek kahawaat hai,neways actual baat bata,tere aur kriya ke beech kya chal raha hai?

Rey(angrily): kuch nehi

Vicky: ab mere se to jhoot mat bol yaar,jhoot bole kauwwa kaate,I saw the way u were giving those looks and talking to kriya,I know ur flirting talks and real talks dude

Rey(frustratingly): sab log notice karte hai,siwaye uske

Vicky: kya matlab? Between, r u admitting ke kuch chal raha hai?

Rey(frustratingly): kriya kuch chalna degi to chalegi na

Vicky: kyun kya hua?

Rey: I confessed my feelings to her,treated her so nicely,sweetly,par madam kehti hai,ke humara beech sirf friendship hai

Vicky was laughing: mr.reyansh singhania ko bhi iss friendzone mein padhna pada!! arey make her fall in love with u

Rey(angrily): shut up vicky,she is getting very stubborn,aisa lagta hai ki zidd pakad ke baithi hai,ke pyar mein nehi padungi!!! Ab koi pyar mein padhna hi nehi chahta,to uuse dhakka du kya!!!

Vicky: dekh tum log ekdam opposite planets se ho,she is introvert,u r extrovert,she is little reserved types,u r a born flirt,wo to apne 5years ke planning bhi kar chuki hai,aur tujhe to ye tak nehi pata ke tu kal goa ke trip ke liye time pe pohoch bhi payega ya nehi

Rey: wats ur point vicky?

Vicky: my point is,opposite poles attract,ab tum logo ka attraction to ho gaya,ab tujhe kriya ko ye ehsaas dilana hai,that this is not just attraction,this is love!! U have to grow this love from this attraction!!!

U have to admit that she is a tough nut to crack,so u have to be a little patient ,don't u think?

Rey: tu kab se itne advices dene laaga?

Vicky: jab se tujhe zaroorat padhne laagi...so kya socha mere advice ke baarein mein?

Rey: abhi tak socha nehi hai,mein chalta hu

Vicky: haan chal,kal Bombay to goa gaana gaate gaate journey start kartehai

Rey: ya dude
