Butterflies fluttered in her belly when he held her hand and made her crossed the road with him, She bit inside of her cheek to hide the smile that was forming up. She was loving the undivided attention of her husband. They entered the ice cream parlor.
"Chocolate or blueberry?" Rey asked her, knowing she likes only two flavours when it comes to ice cream. She was again surprised as he named her favorites yet again, confusion crept in her mind but she brushed it aside. Ice cream was more important at that moment.
"Blueberry!" Taani squealed excitedly as she answered causing him to chuckle at her. He ordered two blue berry ice creams and settled on the table. Taani dig into the ice cream cup while he ate his slowly, admiring his wife who was completely engrossed in eating, forgetting the world around herself.
"Taani, if you want, we can go and meet your parents. You must be missing them.." Rey trailed off, he knew it has been quiet a time she had met her parents as she hardly meet them after her marriage because of fear of them coming to know about the reality of her marriage.
"Maa-Papa delhi gaye hai, meri cousin ki shaadi mein. Phir kabhi.." Taani told him softly after coming out of the shock state she was in. But she couldn't deny the happiness she felt, it was first time he was talking to her about her parent's, Trying to make her happy by thinking of taking her to meet her parents. It was a sweet gesture, which made her fall for him more.
"Oh, then we will go next month." Rey said to her, he really wants to take here there, he hate himself that because of him she has to distance herself from her family. Taani gave him a slight nod, couldn't think of anything else. They sat there in silence until he notice some ice smudged near her lips.
"Taani, woh-"
"Ji?"
She couldn't understand at what he was pointing, he pointing at her lips, she took one napkin and tried wiping the ice cream off but couldn't. Rey shook his head, he lifted his hand and brought it close to her face. Her breath hitched as he rubbed her thumb near her lower lip. She could hear her own heart beats, her heart was ready to jump out of her chest.
Their eyes, his eyes were hooded making her want to shied away, but his intense gaze held her. He gently rub his thumb over her lower lip, lining her lips. He could feel the softness of her plump rosy lips and badly wanted to replace his thumb with his lips but he controlled his urge, not wanting to make her uncomfortable by rushing things.
"Thank you." She mumbled shyly as he took his hand away, unwillingly though. Rey paid for their ice creams and they left for the home with a content smile plastered on their faces. It was the most beautiful in their lives so far, she could see the acceptance in his eyes, as much as confusing it was, it gives her happiness also. She was seeing what she always wanted to see.
Rey drove away to home, through out the drive, holding her hand in his. Which aroused so many questions in her mind. While on the other hand, his happiness knew no bound. He was elater after spending a whole day with her. Life with her is so amazing, he realized it now. He has started understanding her better. He understands her emotions, could read what she must be thinking. And it's great progress for him. He understand the depth of her love for him. Her love for him is undeniable and unconditional. And he wants to give same to her. His love for her know no bound. He is ready to do anything for her.
"I need to talk to him." Taani thought to herself as he parked his car outside her home, She needs to clear this confusion. She can't bear any more pain by having her hopes die once again, if all this is just a facade nothing more.
