Thank you alllll......🤗I loved it😃

Meet Jawed Karim, all of 27 years old, who ditched Youtube to study his masters at Stanford. A decision that stumped his Stanford professors too.

What amazed me was his love for academia and teaching as opposed to the more common opposite route. Sergey and Larry of Google are notable examples.

Mr. Karim said he might keep a hand in entrepreneurship, and he dreams of having an impact on the way people use the Internet -- something he has already done. Philanthropy may have some appeal, down the road. But mostly he just wants to be a professor. He said he simply hopes to follow in the footsteps of other Stanford academics who struck it rich in Silicon Valley and went back to teaching.

"There's a few billionaires in that building," he said, standing in front of the William Gates Computer Science Building. But his chosen path will not preclude another stint at a start-up. "If I see another opportunity like YouTube, I can always do that," he said.

Its useful to note Jawed was already a millionaire prior to Youtube's founding. Thanks to his time at Paypal, along with Chad and Steve, before it was bought by eBay.

An excerpt on the early path of Youtube's founding:

Mr. Karim met Mr. Hurley and Mr. Chen when all three of them worked at PayPal. After the company was acquired by eBay for $1.5 billion, netting Mr. Karim a few million dollars, they often talked about starting another company.

By early 2005, all three had left PayPal. They would often meet late at night for brainstorming sessions at Max's Opera Caf, near Stanford, Mr. Karim said. Sometimes they met at Mr. Hurley's place in Menlo Park or Mr. Karim's apartment on Sand Hill Road, down the street from Sequoia Capital, the venture firm that would become YouTube's financial backer.

Mr. Karim said he pitched the idea of a video-sharing Web site to the group. But he made it clear that contributions from Mr. Chen and Mr. Hurley were essential in turning his raw idea into what eventually became YouTube.

Jawed Karim (Bengali) is a co-founder of the popular video sharing website YouTube.

Karim was born in Merseburg, East Germany in 1979 and moved to West Germany in 1982. His father, Naimul Karim, is a Bangladeshi researcher at 3M. His mother, Christine Karim, is a research assistant professor of biochemistry at the University of Minnesota.

Karim grew up in Germany, and his family moved to the United States in 1992. He graduated from Central High School (Saint Paul, Minnesota), and went on to attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He left campus prior to graduating to become an early employee at PayPal, but continued his coursework, earning his bachelor's degree in computer science in 2004.

While working at PayPal, he met Chad Hurley and Steve Chen. The three later founded the YouTube video sharing website in 2005. After co-founding the company and developing the YouTube concept and website with Chad Hurley and Steve Chen, Karim enrolled as a graduate student in computer science at Stanford University while acting as an advisor to YouTube. When YouTube was acquired by Google, Karim's 137,443 shares of stock were valued at $64.6 million, while his cofounders each earned around $326 million.

In October 2006, Jawed gave a lecture about the history of YouTube at the University of Illinois' annual ACM Conference entitled YouTube: From Concept to Hyper-growth. In his lecture he mentioned Wikipedia as being an innovative social experiment and added that he created the Air Force One article in 2002. He returned again in May 2007, as the 136th Commencement Speaker at the University of Illinois.

More recently, Jawed has launched a venture fund called Youniversity Ventures, with the goal of helping current and former university students to launch their business ideas.

European English:!!!!!!

The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was the other possibility.

As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5- year phase-in plan that would become known as "Euro-English" .

In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy. The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k". This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter. There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f". This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter.

In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where! more komplikated changes are possible.

Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling.

Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent "e" in the languag is disgrasful and it should go away.

By the 4th yer people wil be reseptiv to steps such as
replasing "th" with "z" and "w" with "v".

During ze fifz yer, ze unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords kontaining "ou" and after ziz fifz yer, ve vil hav a reil sensi bl riten styl.

Zer vil be no mor trubl or difikultis and evrivun vil find it ezi tu understand ech oza. Ze drem of a united urop vil finali kum tru.

Und efter ze fifz yer, ve vil al be speking German like zey vunted in ze forst plas.

If zis mad you smil, pleas pas on to oza pepl

Viswanathan Anand [Images] crowned himself as the new World chess champion with a short 20-move draw against Peter Leko of Hungary in the 14th and final round of the Championships in Mexico City on Saturday night.

Mexico proved special for Anand, as six months ago he took over as World No 1 in Elo ratings, soon after winning the Morelia-Linares tournament.

His game with Leko was a Ruy Lopez Marshall. Anand (white) opted for a solid draw to ensure a clear title triumph.

The 37-year-old Anand's first words were, "You can imagine how I feel. This is something very special for me."

He added, "Mexico for its hospitality, not in so many places you can find as many chess fans as here. I always feel great in Mexico."

Among the first to congratulate Anand was NIIT [Get Quote] chairman Rajendra Pawar, who called him up in Mexico.

Anand, who is one of the only four players in history to have gone past the 2,800-Elo ratings barrier, took home a cheque of US $390,000.

The Indian ace, who is also the NIIT Brand Ambassador, totaled nine points out of 14 and finished a full point ahead of Kramnik and Gelfand.

Kramnik beat Lev Aronian in the final round, while Gelfand drew with Alexander Morozevich.

Anand went into the Marshall attack. In the past he introduced a couple of novelties which led to the hope that he might bring out more. On the 14th, he offered a pawn back in exchange for faster development. Then on the 18th move, he introduced a novelty, but got a good reply from Leko, leading to White needing to give away his pair of bishops. By the 20th move, the position was completely equal and the players agreed to a draw, crowning Anand the new World champion.

It is the second time Anand won the World title. In 2000 he emerged champion in the official FIDE World Championships, played in India and Iran, but at that time world chess was split and some top stars, including Kramnik, did not play in it.

Boris Gelfand, who in the early stages of the tournament shared the lead with Anand, drew his final round game with Alexander Morozevich, but Kramnik beat Aronian to join him in tied second place.

After winning the final game Kramnik said he was pleased that he had come back into form, but regretted that he had not previously exploited his chances as well as Anand.

In another game, Peter Svidler finally found his first win of the tournament in the last game against Grischuk in an interesting line in the Sicilian.

Eight of the world's top chess stars played in the championships and Anand won four of his 14 games and drew 10 to emerge the only unbeaten player in the competition. He faced a defeat in the 13th round but did well to extricate himself and earn a draw against another Russian, Alexander Grischuk.

Results of Round 14: Anand drew with Leko; Kramnik beat Aronian; Svidler beat Grischuk; Morozevich drew with Gelfand.

Final standings after Round 14: 1. Anand IND 9.0; 2. Kramnik RUS and Gelfand ISR 8.0; 4. Leko HUN 7.0; 5. Svidler RUS 6.5; 6. Morozevich RUS and Aronian ARM 6.0; 8. Grischuk RUS 5.5.
