What I want to say is that,yes I agree that most of the actors mentioned here seem matured for their age and it would look odd if they call Sameer and Pallavi their parents.But we also know that all the major events in Ashok's life took place when he was 30+.Be it his coronation,the War Of Kalinga or his marriage to Karuvaki.And by then,Bindu and Dharma had died too.So,I think that there is no problem if they cast someone who looks a bit matured because he has to portray a very intense and complicated character.
It is going to be a tough choice indeed for getting someone to fill Sid's shoes.Because Sid is awesome as the teenage Ashok.But I don't trust this PH.I don't mean to offend anyone but honestly,I never ever like the actor who replaced Faisal in MP.I used to watch that show for Faisal.But after the leap,I lost interest.SM could never re-create Faisal's charm.
Coming to choices,everyone has got different choices and it feels good to see a variety of opinions.Even I have my choices and I have my reasons for these choices.I wish to see Aham Sharma as Ashok.If you ask me why,then I will say that he can portray the complicated character that Ashok became later on perfectly.I know that he does not resemble Sid.But sometimes such things can be ignored if the acting is good.Aham can portray the ruthless warrior,the passionate lover and the great emperor quite well.
Why I don't wish to see Ashish Sharma as Ashok?I have a reason for that too.I am not doubting his acting capabilities.He is one of my favs.But his image as CGM is forever imprinted in my mind.CGM and Ashok were two completely different characters.
RT is a great actor too.But he has been continuously doing historicals.He is only 23.And in JA,they made him play a father to a grown up son.Its time that he does something different.Plus,for Ashok,someone looking a bit older will be more suitable.
I don't approve of Shaheer as he always had this good boy look.And Ashok was a baddie for a certain period in his life.According to me,Shaheer won't be able to pull that ruthless part of Ashok well.The very same reasons are for HC.
For Karuvaki and Asandhimitra,the girls in my mind as I have already mentioned,are Sonarika and Pooja.The reasons for this are-Karuvaki is always visualized as a free spirited girl who later becomes a fierce warrior.Sona can do that nicely.And Asandhimitra is the majestic queen who was Ashok's best friend and took part in the matters of the court.Pooja is fine for that.
Also,earlier someone had mentioned that why are people asking for Aham as he is already the lead in Manmarziyan.I want to make it clear that everyone are just expressing their wishes.No one here is telling that only Aham can be Ashok or only Ashish can be Ashok.All are giving their wishlist.Even I am doing that.I will be absolutely fine with whosoever they cast as long as the actors are good and do justice to the characters.
Lastly,I don't mean to criticize or offend anyone.These are just my personal opinions.😊
