No! Anjali all the way. Man, she stole the role for me. I think Naina Talwar is a modern day version of that, but Anjali had the best transformation. She become more feminine, but it suited her nicely.

I was a little younger than that kid Anjali when the movie released probably abt 6-7yrs and used to copy kajol's Anjali for so many years after! i pretty much idolized her so i only ever hated Tina! 😆

btw my didi used to love Tina(she still does).. she became a Rani fan from that moment on! So u were certainly not the only one! 😆

I'm more of a Raj-Simran fan.

It's not that I didn't like Anjali or something. Actually come to think of it I did like her a lot too and Rahul-Anjali were meant to be together. But Rani came in like a breath of fresh air. I'm glad KJo got someone new for that role. Everyone I knew hated Tina in the film because she came in between Rahul and Anjali. But I thought the whole point of the film was that Rahul didn't realize he was in love with Anjali. Even if Tina told him and then left, I doubt the idiot would have figured it out. 😆 Nobody ever tells Rahul that Anjali loved him or that he was in love with Anjali. He had come to that realization himself.

Oh wow...I just realized why I used to love this film so much. 😕😆

Also I had read few times that KJo was not able to get an actress to play Tina because it was very emotional and everyone cried after reading the script and then refused.. Same with Aish I think... that's why she did not play ... I clearly remember this... Then Rani was new and she accepted..

more than emotional , I think the fact that Kajol's role was meatier and they would get sidelined that could be the reason IMHO.

I think shez talking abt Rani's role.. but good she didnt it. It was chutiyapa movie.

Pyar sirf ek baar hota hai, shadi sirf ek baar hoti hai.. so cheezy even a mouse wont fall for that trap.. but then we humans r diff.

Tom boy becomes bhartiya nari and a widow frnd finds a perfect catch. too much sanskar in the movie.. oh yes, the small girl also plays her part. 🥱

This woman is the Queen of talking about the movies she was approached to do and opting out of them. Whether it Raja Hindustani, Bombay (Not velvet - the one with Manisha), and so many others. I've lost count of how many time she's casually mentioned movies she did not do. Tacky behavior even if she was approached for them all.
