Dodging the ususal morning meet and greet, as the rest of the staff came in, Ishita fled to the sanctuary of her room. Shaking, she collapsed in the chair. No big D!' she chanted feverishly, pressing the cold steel of the stapler to her burning cheeks.

Didn't know you had a thing for staplers!' teased Shagun, sitting her oversized bag on the floor. Ishita continued squashing steel props against her face, eyes frantic but mouth silent.

Concerned, Shagun came over, "Ishu, are you alright?'

He's back Shags! He's back and he wants to kill me!' Ishita blurted out. Who knows, if everything failed, Raman might resort to the unthinkable.

Shagun instantly caught on. Raman's back! You met him?'

Ishita forcefully bobbed her head.

Where did you meet him?'

Just now I met him in Mrs Shukla's office. It was actually an ambush. He's not working alone.' Ishita's finger now strangled a miniature acupuncture ball.

What was he doing in Mrs Shukla's office at this hour? Isnt she a little too old for him.'

Your not helping! Do you want to hear the rest or not?' ishita sailed a nasty glare in her friend's directions.

Raman!' Ishu corrected herself. Raman Bhalla has bought AAA, as in us. He is our new president, Deo and god. His first kaali kurthuth of the day was to demote our friggin department and make Roach our boss!'

Ishita went on to regale the other girl with all that had occurred between Raman and herself, sans the physical alterations. The memory of it still caused her heart to slam ferociously against the ribcage.

I gave my word!' Ishita beseeched.

Raman will never harm dada. I am sure of that. He's just baiting me,' Ishita voiced, softly. She silently prayed; murugan. Please do not let me be wrong about this.

Why wont you tell him the truth? Its time to come clean,' Shagun said.

I disagree! No one needs to know anything.' Ishita grabbed Shagun and propelled her away from the door. Shagun reluctantly let her.

I'm sure, in real life even Meena Kumari and Greta Grabo weren't half as bad as you. Life had become a series of listless ways unlike the chain of one moment leading to another. Once upon a time, isn't that what you considered it to be?' Shagun rambled even though she let Ishita sit her down.

Shags!' Ishita cooed, her tough as nails friend's concerned shining through.

You behave like a zombie! It hurts me to see you like this. Do you have any idea how many times your mom has called me to find out why you behave the way you do. At one point, she even feared you were suicidal.

Wow! And you think I'm the Meena Kumari of the family?' Ishita grinned.

Please Ishu! For the last time, get rid of this blasted guilt. Sort out this tangled, and idiotically complicated, mess of your own making.'

I know you mean well Shags, but please give me some time I promise if things get out of hand I, myself, shall puke the truth on the man.'

pakka, swear on your dead cat?' Shagun scorned, well aware that Ishita steered cleared of cats, dead or alive.

Ishita simply nodded. For a few seconds, the two friends stared at each other. Shagun capitulated. Fine! Have it your way. But for once, put yourself above the other mortals, you fool!'

I hope that includes you also,' relaxing, Ishita teased. Shagun flipped her the bird'.

Oh! So much drama in the morning, I need to calm myself,' Shagun said, groping inside her bag.

Oh, please don't use this as an excuse to light up another cancer stick,' Ishita protested.

Got it! One wont do any harm,' Shagun drawled on her way out.

Try four.. you crazy cow,' Ishita retorted, opening a parle G packet as she slipped back in her chair.

Don't exaggerate... old maid!' Shagun was a year older than Ishita.

Pronto, Shagun's head popped back in the room. Ishita glanced up, questioningly. Is he still that hunk-a-licious?'

Rolling tongue in her cheek, ishita growled, even better!'

Ha!' Shagun exclaimed. Maybe all is not lost with Raman's coming back. After a long time, Ishu actually has some colour in her cheeks,' she voiced to her zippo.

Precap- for a second, everyone and everything else faded away. all Raman saw was Ishita and all she felt was him.
