It is very true that at this point Amitabh Bachchan does not have the box office pull that he did in the 70s. But can you imagine any of today's stars at 73? And do you see them getting the kind of adulation and respect that Amitabh Bachchan does by just walking into a room?

I guess we are looking at definition of star differently here.

Yes atm she is a bigger star than buddha bachchan. Before Piku, Bachchan had back to back flops. Shamitabh, Bhootnath Returns, Buddha Hoga Tera Baap, Department, Aarakshan, Teen Patti. Infact i don't even remember the last hit movie he gave. He used to be superstar in his time but he is a has been now.

well his movies flop...I guess people prefer watching him on KBC than in the theaters these days

Not fair at all. Actually my immediate reaction when I saw this thread was that the two cannot be compared at all. They are at completely different leagues. In fact like I said in my first post, no one is in the same league as Big B. I even wondered if the entire topic might be sarcasm 😆. But since you and several others think she is, then box office numbers is a way, the only way, to compare in this context.

but tell me, don't you think deepika will also become a has been in 5 to 10 years, maybe sooner. and guess what, chances are she won't even be remembered 20 yrs down, but Big B will be still remembered till bollywood sinks.

Bachchan is and was always overrated imo. The biggest legend in the history imo was Kaka. The stardom Kaka saw at his peak is incomparable. Bachchan was finished and got bankrupt before KBC saved his ass. I've never liked Buddha Bachchan. He was always insecure.. Madhuri and Bachchan are both overrated as f**k but are treated as devi and devta.
