Felt strng earthquake tremors

Was sitting on bed watching White Collar, and whole bed started shaking. Went out to inform others, caught the staircase banister and that too was shaking.

Lasted fairly long. Nearly 30-45 seconds if not more

While I was trying to recall the movie names some of them I can't even remember why I liked those movies back then😆

I think books have had a bigger impact on me than movies. Must have read thousand of M&Bs since the time I hit teens till a few years ago.
They are so addictive. But the stories or the characters can't even recollect even a single one.

But some books and characters and the love stories which were not happy endings are etched out in my mind Thorn birds,Gone with the wind, Doctor Zhivago Fountainhead. Some of these books are not love stories like M&Bs are but still had a love story between the protagonist and the other characters as part of a much bigger story and these were actually stories set in certain situations or eras.

Don't know why I remember and recollect those scenes so well because the books are written so beautifully or the characters are so well defined and so their emotions were the ones which gripped me and made it seem so real I don't know what😕 but the feeling of being carried away by these love stories in these stories which were not actually love stories something else altogether

Talking about books - The ultimate love stories Great expectations and Wuthering heights Jane Eyre they all transport me to another world even now.

At the age when I used to read M&B and other classics , I liked Jane Austen the most in romantic genre. Mr Darcy was the ultimate dream of most of the girls. 😳😆
Read M&B for the sake of time pass only . Those have nothing substantial , all having same pattern . Rich powerful guys falling for naive , good heart but fighter girls.

Bronte Sisters writings though I read but found those very serious for my taste specially ' Jane Eyre'.

Charles Dicken's books I liked but did not considered as romantic ones. He depicted wider situations more instead of focusing on love stories.
If I have to choose one of the best romantic tale among his books then I will select ' A tale of two cities' set in the back drop of French revolution . Though liked all three main characters but silent, selfless sacrifice of the lawyer for the happiness of his love kept me affected for days. Now toh I have almost forgotten it's detail . Will have to read it again.
But somehow I have lost interest in reading now a days specially for novels. Short stories toh still can read but can not find inclination for starting a long one.

Btw long thesis es in IF also irritates me , always skip those . Y/day I saw a really looong one . Even scrolling down the page took time. 😡

Same here Arti. Me too felt.
I was sitting on bed , checking pages of our intellectual thread 😛. Felt tremors , went to check in kitchen , water was shaking in the purifier , grabbed my inhaler and lappy and ran for stairs 😆 . But when went out side saw no commotion there toh thought it was all my imagination only and came back. 😆
