Thanks :) when you are married for a long time (almost 27 years in my case) you kinda of see almost everything there is to see in relationships around you like friends, family, cousins. There are stories everywhere :) I can write an encyclopedia about mine lol! Jk but you know what I mean :) Sometimes the reasons are so silly its mind boggling. I have a friend who almost divorced her husband of 26 years over something so silly and stupid we were appalled. Tha guy was my husbands best friend all the way from school days and he didn't want the divorce. So we had to intervene from NY to Chennai and after a lot of talking to and fro it settled down and now they are still happily married nearing 30 years of married life and happily planning their children's weddings. You just can't make this stuff up! Sometime i think fiction is easier.

That nice intro in Aman and Lav's marriage and their friendship with Arshi. I glad that kids are not involved in it, because the situation would be worse and complicated with kids involved. I am waiting for situation where Khushi will agree to work on this marriage.

i second your reasons for a divorce. i would add alcoholic and drug abuser to it, i think. although, i would still lean towards helping such partners first... unable to conceive is hardly a reason, until of course it led to some form of abuse. nor any illness no matter how severe. in fact she should be discussing these with arnav and then deciding on the options...

that it takes two is not the case always. there are plenty of times when the men are solely to blame. on the same vein, a woman can be as guilty. sometimes, it can be as ridiculous as letting her mind run bizarre, with the husband having no clue. some what like a daily soap, except there are no other characters ruining the marriage.

I really dont think the reasons for her asking for divorce are infidelity or any kind of physical or emotional abuse. Khushi is not kind of woman who would tolerate any kind of abuse.

If the reason is not conceiving, then I feel that is really a stupid reason to break up a marriage.

Its not like Arnav is of royal blood and they need a heir to run their kingdom.

Now a days with science advancing so much, there are so many ways one can have their own child including surrogacy etc and even if all the ways are impossible they can always adopt a baby. I am sure Arnav is broadminded enough to do that looking at the way he pampers Aman's kids.

I think the reasons are much more complex than anyone of us are thinking.

...and it reminded me of the similarities again when I read this part,,,, I hate driving in snow and my husband knows this and without me saying anything he just woke up early and came to drop me at work and when I said thank you he told me that he was still my husband and said f**k off for saying thank you to your husband it pissed him off early in the morning ... now I remember it makes me laugh ...

in a way it is bound to effect aman and lavnya tooo from what is happening in their friends lives ... it was so good to see them arnav and khushi spending some time with the kids ... it makes you forget all the problems of your life and be carefree just like them while you are with them playing ...

and now I get the meaning of this story 'revealed' ... that khushi hasn't yet revealed why she wants divorce from him... there has to be something more for she said that he would be better of without her...
is she doing this out of the self pity cuz she don't or cant have any kids...

The reasons could be more complex OR as silly as constant bickering and not agreeing on any single thing.. As you pointed out earlier, she is a fierce independent woman & highly career oriented and brought up in a country where freedom & individuality trumps everything else.. They both have their own independent businesses and it's a lot harder to run a business than being an employee.. So both are under tremendous work pressure which may contribute to their constant arguments..also they have drifted apart since the time that Wakefield project started..

But these are hardly reasons for a divorce especially because they still love each other..my empathy is with Arnav and not Khushi because he still wants to work it out whereas Khushi doesn't.. I don't understand how she can love him and still wants a divorce.. The only logical reason I think at this point is unable to conceive scenario.. She might be thinking she is a doing a favor to him which is silly & stupid in my opinion too..And she doesn't understand him at all if that's the case..

As kk pointed out, communication is the key.. I wonder if they have tried marriage counseling or not..

I have seen someone very close to me change gradually as she was unable to conceive. Women become extremely emotional and even a slight irritation gets on their nerves very quickly. It becomes very tricky for husband and family members to even deal with them.

My guess is Khushi has gradually gone into this phase due to her not able to conceive and unfortunately Arnav was busy with his work to notice those changes and by the time he reached her, she had withdrawn into her own shell.
