recap- rey had a fight with the gang about the drama team etc.,taani helped him cool down and patch up with the team, rey agreed to be friends with taani finally, dropped her home.

Taani s place-
taani at the laptop, anjali on the chair sitting with her hands on her chin thinking
and then asked," so according to you, rey wasnt stalking you around but just
happened to be there at the betting club?" taani nodded
" and now also he dropped you by himself?" taani nodded again
" and now you r saying that he wants to be friends??" taani nodded
" ummm...breakup kisne kiya- usne ya tumne?"
"anjali can we just stop this please?" and catching anjali s stubborn look," maine"
Anjali had a i knew it look," thats what i thought... usse dekhhe lagtha nahin ki
wo itne aasaani se haar maanega" like she had solved a puzzle
taani frowned and looked up from her laptop,' matlab?"
" matlab yeh ki guys are like that- jab tak unke saath ho tab tak tumhe granted lete
hain , khadar nahin karthe but as soon as you leave them, they ...just follow you
around like lost puppies..."
taani was about to open her mouth to defend rey but then stopped thinking of
how lost rey had been looking since the final breakup at NDC and anjali continued
her monologue on guys after breakup," ...and never leave any opportunity tumhe
batane ke liye ya jatane ke liye ki he s so nice and you are such a loser for losing
him... ( sarcasm in her voice) and you know slowly tumhe itna confusion mein
daaldenge, you keep feeling guilty for breaking up with him for a perfectly valid
reason!" and shook her head
Taani became thoughtful- that was true... but
"friendship ka offer mera tha anjali...unhe mujhse baat tak nahin karni thi" she
explained
" but whys he talking to you now then?" and getting up shrugged," Ego my dear!
Guys ka ego ( holding her hands wide) huge hain- they cant accept the fact that
you dont want them"
Taani stared at her seeing rey instead in the fireescape as he hugged her comfortingly
... wo sab sirf ego trip tha? And then had a glimpse of him shaking her hand in
friendship just a few hours before - that wasnt ...
" no anjali, main rey ko acchi tarah jaanthi hoon, wo kisiko apni ego ke liye hurt
nahin karsakthe"
Anjali stared at her as taani seemed to be in her own world and then smiled " he s still in love with you?"
Taani didnt answer - anjali shook her by the shoulders, taani looked up to see her
understanding eyes
" and you insist on being friends?" No answer," it never works well my dear ...friendship
na tum nibhaa paaoge and wo tho definitely nahin nibhaayega " with a bitter tone
and smile sitting down next to her , she said in an unusually serious tone itne din mein i have understood that you love that guy and you must have had a
strong reason breakup karne ke liye...but ...jo bhi tumhaara decision hain stick to
it, dont let confusion get to you...na tumhaara na uska ...just trust yourself on this
Taani smiled at her and nodded - suddenly grateful to have someone who was
thinking of only her and not of rey- even if anjali didnt trust rey.
"thanks ...aap...i mean ...humein aapka project karna tha aur aap mere...thanks anjali "
Anjali grinned," my article! Im used to my articles getting rejected but my dear you
shouldnt listen to me at all...main tho ...remember 4 breakups in one year?!!"
Taani smiled," wo shayad isliye kyunki you havent yet found the right person still"
"achha? And what happens when you find the right person? You live happily ever after??"

Taani s smile disappeared and she couldnt answer...just then her mobile rang- tauji
Her face clouded in worry , she let it ring till it stopped . anjali noticing her
changing expressions discreetly got up and walked away.

Classroom- 2days later - taani walked in looking preoccupied and banged into rey.
The rest of the gang sitting in their places exchanged glances that said- oh no start
again but
Sorry, sorry smile small smile and both bent down to collect the stuff that had
fallen from taani s hands - rey noticed some application printouts and then frowned
slightly as he gave them all back to her his hands brushing hers a little making her
withdraw her own faster.Move to one side, move to same side...smile smile...
move to other side...smile smile consciously and then rey stopped , signalled to
taani to move. Taani walked to her seat and sat down and turned to aashi who
was staring at the sudden change in their equation and started talking...
The rest of the gang looked surprised as rey sat down next to swayam noting the
small smile on his face. Rey turned to see swayam staring at him, looked questioningly
rey looked back questioningly - swayam shook his head and glanced back to see
the guys do their chemistry act - all grins in place and gave his DONT START look ...
they stopped just as rey turned back to talk to them
"rey !" sonali at the classroom door called out - her face in all smiles. The smiles on
the gangs face disappeared. Rey got up, walked to her and started talking with sonali
moving her hands all over and standing closer to him than required. Taani looked
at them once and then opened her bag and pretended to be busy doing something.
Rey walked back saying a friendly bye and sat down and ignoring the accusing looks
especially on the girls faces said," we have a meeting with the dramatics team at
lunch to discuss how to get RH back and decide on who s going to play the lead..
"why did she tell you? Team ka captain swayam hain" sharon
" haan and no need talking jab tak wo log not sayng sorry..."
aur agar sonali lead role types ..."
" Is baar main uska taang sach mein thodnewaala hoon" bharat
"aur rey tum, tumhaari us nayi girlfriend ko lead role ke liye support mat karna" vicky

Rey and taani exchanged a quick look at vicky s comment and taani turned away
as the usual arguments started , rey frowned at them and swayam trying to
convince them
Taani- the peon called- VP sir aapko bulaarahe hain
Taani got up and walked out with a slightly tensed face , both rey and swayam
noticed it but avoided looking at each other...reys interest in the discussion
reduced and before he knew it he had got up to follow her - some teacher walked
in and stopped him with a look
"sir...wo...mujhe ...VP sir ne bhulaaya tha" teacher raised his eyebrows disbelievingly
Rey moved to the door bypassing him and saying " thanks sir" walked out before
any response came. Gang stared at one another, guys grinned and poor swayams alarm bells rang loud.

Outside VP sirs office
Rey trying to find out who was inside, peon tapped him on the shoulder
"wo chali gaye kuch dher pehle hi, abhi tho wo nayi GS team hain andher"
"ohh kahaan?" and then stopped embarrassed that the peon was grinning
"pata nahin par thoda pareshaan dikhrahe thi " rey nodded and started to walk
away when the peon continued,"pehle bohot baat karthi thi humse ab tho smile
bhi nahin karthi..."
Reys face fell as he patted the guy on his shoulder understandingly muttering a thanks and walked
off wondering what was bothering her so much??!

FE - rey entered quietly and found as expected taani sitting on some step looking
lost in thought. he debated for a second whether to go back but then ...who was
he kidding? He wanted to know what the hell was wrong with her.She didnt hear
him till he came and sat next to her at a little distance quietly. She looked towards
his side, made a NOT AGAIN face clearly thinking she had one of her seeing rey
everywhere dreams and turned away muttering- hey krishnaji is bimaari ka kuch
tho ilaaj karo. Thak gayi hoon main isse
He smiled - god she was cute! And pinched her arm. Ouch she pulled her hands back
and looked at him realising that he was really sitting next to her- REY!
He smiled broader and she shook her head massaging her arm where he pinched
mujhe laga ki aap yahaan nahin aayenge
Mujhe pata tha ki tumhe aisa hi laga hoga and tum isiliye yahin rahogi.
She shook her head at his logic , he continued," what s it?" she didnt reply immediately
he said ," waise just for your information main sonali ke saath nahin hoon"
she looked at him straight and met his eyes wondering if he was joking but he looked
pretty serious, seeing the confusion on her face, he continued,"no, i mean- if thats
the reason tumhaare upset hone ka...im clarifying it was just a date aur kuch nahin"
Her face showed a small smile as she said," rey, mere aur bhi problems hain life mein"
"really? I thought main tumhaari life ka biggest problem hoon" he said half joking
she smiled slightly " and now that im not a part of your life koi problem nahin honi chahiye na?"
he continued in the same tone
She sighed and said," aap mere life ka biggest problem the " his face fell ," but
solution bhi aap hi the...ab tho...new problems hain bas koi solution nahin "
"kya baat hain taani? Im sure itna tho you can tell me...now that im a FRIEND"
he asked sincerely but unable to keep his sarcasm for the word friend away. She
met his eyes , noted the sarcasm and suddenly remembered anjali saying the
that he wouldnt be able to maintainfriendship...maybe she was right , there was
no point in trying to continue any relation which was so messed up
She hesitated and said in a very light way ," itni badi baat nahin hain rey but im ...
maine kuch colleges universities main apply kiya tha kuch further courses ke liye
and ...i didnt get through anything" sherepliednot wanting to completely put him off
He waited , she stopped and then frowningly asked ," so what taani ? I mean im sure
something will turn up but tum itni si baat ke liye two weeks se worried nahin hosakthi
... whats it taani?"
she hesitated as he didnt believe her but said without looking at him ," nothing rey
leave it now, aapka meeting haina ek gante mein...jao aap"
He saw her hesitation and persisted," cmon...or i guess that whole friendship
stuff was also just a ...plan to keep me with the team?? "
" master planner aap ho main nahin" she shot back at him now irritated at his
persisting," mujhe nahin batana hain aapko kuch bhi ?"
"ok...tho main swayam se pooch..." he knew it was blackmailing her but...
"NO " she interrupted ," aap bhai ko mat...unhe waise bhi kuch nahin pata"
"kaisa bhai hain! Usse itna tho pata hona chahiye ki uski favourite sister upset hain.
I ll atleast tell him that" his tone mocking
"REY ...aap ..." she was getting confused at his going back and forth - was he being
serious or manipulating her?" aap apne kaam se kaam nahin rakhsakthe na kabhi
bhi?"
He laughed suddenly," tumhaare har kaam mera kaam hain taani whether you like
it or not" and then both stared at each other...taani felt her resolve melting and
frankly forgot anjali s words of caution..." i mean we are such good FRIENDS"
he said again stressing on friends
she looked away and said," its not something to ..." taking a deep breath she said,
ok..wo... .maine tauji se kahaan tha...nahin tauji ne mujhse kahaan tha abroad
mein apply karnekeliye and i...hadnt ..." he still didnt understand why she was
worried " and then jab tauji ne last week results poocha tho maine unse bas aise
hi kehdiya ki i have got something here..."
He stared at her and didnt say anything...she looked at him, he had no expression
s on his face...she knew it- he wouldnt like it at all and would maybe thank god he had left her, she got up her heart sinking ,voice low " main chalthi hoon" he held her hand
and pulled her down to sit , she resisted but he didnt let go and she sat down his
hand still holding hers
"why? "
She looked to see if he was blaming her but he wasnt...her eyes went slightly moist
" i dont know rey...unka kitna hopes hain mujhpar abhi...i mean main kaise unse
kehsakthi hoon ki maine last date miss kiya , ki ...i forgot because main aapke
baare mein worried thi aur jab unhone mujhse poocha tho maine haan kehdiya
but by then kuch universities ki time hochuka tha and some i made mistakes in my
applications jaldi jaldi mein and some i have applied for different courses ...jo tauji
ne nahin kahaan tha..." she spoke in one breath "maine unse yeh nahin kahaan
ki maine course change kiya and now i dont know how to ..."sounding confused
and upset and on the verge of breaking into tears
" but you have to tell him , im sure he ll understand taani..tum jaanthi ho wo tumse ..."
rey tried not to sound like he was accusing her
Her eyes filled up and overflowed," i know rey...wo mujhse bohot pyaar karthe hain.
..and unhone itna support kiya hain mujhe bachpan se bhi...school college mein...
aur ab " she picked her mobile out and scrolled down the msgs," yeh dekhiye..."
showing him some msgs," jabse aapke...i mean...hamare baare mein pata chala ...
he hasnt asked me anything but..." wiped her eyes as her tears flowed down and
stopped unable to talk more
Rey saw tauji s msgs- ranging from a simple good morning beta to did you have
dinner to tum teek ho? To tumne apply kiya? I sent you the link...to tum jab
jodhpur waapas aaogi tab i ll show you etc.,
He looked up to see her wiping her tears and involuntarily pulled her and hugged
her and she cried wetting his shirt feeling him stroking her hair as he held her
closer. He held her without commenting again realising his own feeling of completeness
when he held her in her arms inspite of the fact that he knew she was in a different
frame of mind all together.
"pata nahin main aisa kyun karthi hoon, unse sach bolne ki himmat hi nahin hain
mujh mein rey " and he felt her sob again.
He held her tighter for a moment and then pulling her away from him, his hands
cupping her face , wiped her tears on the cheeks with his thumb saying ," taani ..."
"sorry " she swallowed her tears and muttered while he still wiped her eyes
i dont know rey itna control karne ki koshish karthi hoon but..." she looked up at him
and met his eyes," aapko dekhthe hi saare aasoon baahar nikalthe hain"
He had a small smile on his face as he said," and main itna koshish kartha hoon ki
tumhaare aankhon mein kabhi aasoon na aaye but ...i end up being the cause of
your tears everytime" with a sheepish look
She got a small smile on her face as he said that and he continued," no wonder tum
mujhe hamesha STAY AWAY kehthi rehthi ho"
"wo maine nahin aapne ..." she began and then understanding that he was trying
to lighten her mood stopped
" i guess hum dono ne kahaan tha kabhi na kabhi " he continued and then his
hands still holding her by the face smile on his face becoming slightly serious ,
his thumb stroking her cheeks feeling her softness "dont be so scared of him taani...
