Anu, I am in the same boat.. after the moving Raman-Adhi scene, I loved Mihir today - stayed true to his character. Minki looked lovely. I hope they are spared more drama but I found Ishita's self talk that she goes with her instinct and hopes that the Minki wedding works out a bit ominous (given yhm's track record of throwing hints at what's coming next).

The Shagun-Ishita scene was distasteful and am really not sure what it was meant to convey.. I guess the slap was supposed to have been a 'good over evil' angle.. just did not work for me, especially given Raman has been on mounvrat the last few days when his wife has been consistently insulted.

The Bhallas always seem to take the easy road but RKB was the different one.. to see that Romi is redeemed just because he exposed Shagun and broke his news?! How does that justify his stealing? I hope Sarika stands up for herself - else she'd ft right into the family 'cause you never know what to expect from a Bhalla! [Ishita now having become one too]

And the GKC crap 🤢 the next low would be to have them break the news about the possibility of Ishita having a baby in response to the rant. Coming to think of it Toshiji can start entire new tracks just by her ranting. She denies Sarika is a fit -> Romi's miraculous accident -> his becoming a 'na-mard' and loads of Shagun; Pammi aunty's xyz's somebody gets married to a 50 yr old and sets off Toshiji who insists on getting Rinki married -> leads to a thankfully fast track yhm that ends in Minki wedding but again with loads of Shagun.

More Shagun on the way but I hope RKB wins custody of his son in style - Shagun is unaware (I hope 'cause she is a 'know-it-all') that Raman has already coerced Ashok into giving up his rights on Adi. CVs, please let us have the savvy businessman back.

Also, where do Shagun and Adhi go now? Mom to pay for her expenses? or Cue for Paramjee to re-enter?

And that's the thing for me... I was so excited for today- this was supposed to be my payoff for almost 3 months of Shagun's stupidity, this was going to be one of my favourite episodes in recent times... instead I just walked away with a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.

And the GKC stupidity... all I keep thinking is will Toshi ever learn about the power and pain of those accusations? Yes she has never called Ishu that but all her GKC blabbering is pinned on that and still she will never learn. She worried about the ways in which society will judge and taunt her son and never for one minute thought to consider how her passing words showed her judgement on Ishu?🤢

She and a lot of the other Bhallas flinched or otherwise verbally/physically reacted when Shagun mentioned Romi's condition... but the repeated mentioning of Ishu's didn't even warrant a feign of distaste? Really? Really? ... because why? Because that doesn't hurt? Because 'it's to the same thing?' Because that is the sum of all she is to you? Because despite everything, she's not 'one of you'? 😭😭😭 I hate, hate , hate it. 😭😡

The confrontation between Shrieky and Ishu: completely concur , the slap was good but the route to it... unnecessarily painful. As a female viewer I was hurt, offended and felt a little disrespected by the entire rhetoric.

Romi: I love Romi still but he has a long way to go to be redeemed. The quickie marriage idea is a band aid fix that doesn't address the real problem (Romi's irresponsible behaviour and the fact that all of this is to 'make Toshi feel better') and as long as that's not addressed there is no light at the end of the SHOMI tunnel... that marriage will be a bigger and unhappier disaster then SHARAM's. Ridiculous. And offensive. Again. SHOMI has the possibility of being a good track, if done right... but this is not right. Hopefully Sarika is shown to be selfish about what she wants for herself and her baby... selfishness is a good thing in moments like this.

As for Shagun's next destination, I wish it was Australia with her mom... but the CVs aren't that gracious. She'll probably be living off Raman's alimony in some hotel and then, like you said Param will be brought back- perhaps one of the reasons Shagun insulted each Bhalla child individually today. Think about it: Rinki-Mihir (addressess that insult), Romi-Sarika (addressees that insult)... all we have left is Simmi-Param and their divorce track. Not necessarily a bad thing, except it'll probably give Toshi yet another reason to start squawking about the GKC!🤢

UGH!😡

Oh Anu! I think everyone feels the same about the way today played out. I had to bite my tongue/control my fingers when writing up my post b/c I felt I had gripped too much over the last 2 days.

The CVs tainted our transcontinental celebration with this regressive hogwash.

They want to show a social message - great! Maybe they'll deliver gold like the Param track?
They want to mess with certain character sketches to do so - fine, we've been dealing for a while now.
They can't even give us a 1-2 episode break from drama - bull🤬

I don't think Puttar is EVER going to have his mane tamed because our ever creative CVs have conveniently woven in the next regressive track with the OTT 2.5 month long Shagun saga. 😡
Hell - KP might tame the mane for an episode, but it will be there for god knows how long b/c there seems to be NO friggin' end to this vicious cycle.

I don't want this to turn out like every other Ekta show especially before any real romance.

They can still find balance and small things like having the official kick start of the Adi custody track on the day Raman signed Adi's name change request actually do some a difference to viewers (whether it's intentional or not - I don't care anymore).

So deep down I keep hope that they will salvage this ship before it goes down the path of many popular Ekta Shows like Jodha Akbar which are popular for a bit and then crash and burn. We know they are capable of delivering television gold, but for some stupid reason they are royalling failing right now.

Most of the characters have changed. That of IshRa in particular. Even before Ishitha found solution to all problems but they worked as a couple. Which led to more screen space. Now It's just Ishitha and Raman standing in a corner. Difficult to see puttar like that.

I agree! I loved the side character stories before the time slot change. Even if the leads weren't involved, they were not overdone or overly dramatic. Instead, you came to grow more attached to the entire cast.

Now you can see the side character stories (Mihir-Mihika-Rinki) all being played for the sake of predictable drama.

@Bold - I agree! It's Ishita takes the blame illogically and Raman does nothing. I think most people fell in love with this show for (1) Ishita-Ruhi, (2) a strong male lead, and/or (3) Ishita-Raman.

A lot of the praise for this show has been for Raman's strong personality and what's happening to it?

I truthfully loved this show at first because Raman made mistakes, faltered, but always had a voice and strong compass. I initially justed watched for Raman because prior to that most Indian shows I watched just showed the main female lead always being right & I got tired of it...so it was awesome to see this male character with a backbone who actually complemented the female lead's personality to a tee. Then all the other characters started to grow on me, and I found myself actually relating to Ishita - a woman who was strong but could falter.

Nowadays when Raman opens his mouth to say something productive, I celebrate like we've won the lottery or something. #Kya kya din dehkne ko pardthe hai

Gan. I couldn't look at the first collage of your post yesterday for more than a brief moment...and then, I couldn't even read the entire post. The precap yesterday was very hard to watch, but the first two minutes of today's episode were gut-wrenching & heartbreaking. I was a basket case before the 1st 2 mins of the epi were even over.

You've captured all the essence and emotion of that brief exchange between a father and his son so beautifully in this collage today; your words mimic my thoughts...you know how I feel today...this collage says it all. THANK YOU.

Every single day that you are not with me,
I think about you.
I wonder what you are doing,
I hope that you are safe.
I pray that you are happy.
My love will follow you wherever you go,
Whether you want it to or not,
Forever and ever,
Because you will always be
My...Child.

I'm going to try to make sense, but my feels are all over the place and my heart's not strong enough to witness this father-son duo's tears.

The first thing that came to mind when I saw the still of today's precap in your post yesterday was the look of sheer anger and hatred that Adi gave RKB during the Shagun marriage track when he was under the influence of Param and Ashok. Quite a juxtaposition.

[Your Nov 17th post - a moment brilliantly captured: https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/ye-hai-mohabbatein/4227391/adi-updated ]

Previously, in such situations where his mother has been humiliated, we've seen Aditya become very angry and confrontational. Today's Adi was mature. In the short time he's spent with the Bhalla parivaar, he's begun to learn that he's been misguided about his family all these years...that they're not so evil as his mother has always made them out to be. Previously we've seen Adi in a haste to remove his mother from such situations of public insult and humiliation...today, he was being dragged out, almost against his will.

Today, I saw a boy who has finally begun to understand his father's plight.

That one question today broke my heart. Not a question a child should have to ask...not one a parent, should ever have to answer.

I don't have kids, but My RKBs pain was tangible. I can't imagine what it must take for a parent to turn their back on their child.

What is sad is that they have come so far these past few months...they'd finally begun to build their relationship back from zero. What is reassuring however, is that the foundation is incredibly strong this time around. Adi has finally begun to understand Raman; he's finally seen and experienced his father's love. I'd like to think that Adi understands that Raman wasn't literally turning his back on him today.

I'd also like to entertain the idea that perhaps Raman turned his back to allow his son to make his own decision. Adi has always chosen his mother...perhaps Raman knew that today would be no different, that Adi would again, choose his mother over him...and perhaps, a father simply was not able to watch his son walk out of his life again.

When father and son turned back for one last glance at each other, the exchange that was made in that moment between the two was unbelievably poignant. A father's continued longing for his son...and at last, a son, longing for his father. That one gesture by Adi said it all. Perhaps soon, both father & son's hearts will be mended at last.

It is wonderful to see My RKB be proactive about filing for full custody of his son. Raman knows how much Adi loves his mother, and so has hesitated in seperating him from her...as he's said himself previously, Adi can't live without her. Today however, I think Adi's tearful, questioning eyes gave him the assurance and certainty he needed to finally realize maybe that's not the end all be all. Maybe, if given a chance, his son might choose him. The thought alone makes me smile...and hope for the beautiful future father and son have together.

Needless to say, I'm excited for the custody track. It's been a long time coming. I'm ready for both my boys to finally see an end to the heartache.

***

Just a couple of notes:

1) I was sad to see RKB's reaction time to Shagun insults to Ishita be so late...the RKB I know would have intervened at the mention of the work "baanj", if not sooner...I guess they have to allow the sautan's to fight it out in the name of drama and masala tv. Sadly, they're doing it at the cost of My RKB.

2) Mihir and Rinki are cute...I'm looking forward to their relationship.

3) Too much OTT drama. I wish they'd tone it down a bit. Looking past the unnecessary drama and focusing on my Adi-Raman for now.

Love,

P

PS: Sorry this is all over the place...and, congrats again on the RT 😳
PPS: Have to mention Gautam today. He's grown by leaps and bounds as an actor. He connected the audience with the heart and soul of a 12 year old boy today. Brilliantly portrayed emotion.

Welcome back Payal. I really missed reading your posts. Loved everything you wrote. I missed reading your beautiful in depth analysis on Adi and Raman.

Screw the seriousness I refuse to let a fictional show ruin my mood so if they wanna be regressive then be it, when it gets too much for me i'll stop watching. 😆
On to happier things:

Mihir-Rinki conversation was so cute! I loved it :) Mihir is a true gentleman who will rise up and fulfill his responsibilities, I know how annoying it is to study alone so company always helps!! I am glad Rinki and Mihir relationship will grow slowly and it will be a beautiful journey to witness if done right.

Medical lesson for the Bhallas:

For someone who is elderly, complaining of difficulty in breathing, clutching their chest, have high pulse...CALL EMERGENCY and get them to the hospital...more often than not in elderly folks who are a heavier these symptoms are a Heart Attack (MI)

But most likely here Toshiji probs had a panic attack over her 'progeny' drowning with the drowning of Romi's swimmers.
#Toshiji is drama queen
#Take a chill pill Toshiji
#Cost of treating a suspected MI in the Emergency room is $6200 so thanks for almost wasting our healthcare dollars
#You suck
#1950's called they want their thinking back

Also someone needs to tell gurlfriend that her genes are have nothing special and world isn't going to end if her family name doesn't go forward. here is a kicker what if Romi's unborn child turns out to be gay? What then? What if Adi is gay? What happens to the carrying forward the family? DRAMAAA

Ignoring puttar and his muteness towards all the missus insults because frankly I am still not over it and can't find it in me to look over it yet. He better apologize to missus or better yet to all the fangirls have had so much faith in him and basically worship him. Gosh what a let down, men are stupid! #I still love puttar (that's sad) #I still wanna jump him (even sadder)
