Same as Irfan Khan as well. He got recognized in a better way in India only after his potential was discovered in Hollywood. We have such fabulous actors like Nawaz, Kay kay, Irfan, Tabu, Vidya to name a few but since they don't have certain look and outsider(except Tabu) they are not fully explored or recognized here .

First of all, star kids are always hyped thanks to their industry connections from the word go. So all these exaggeration is a real put off. In this particular comment, the commentator comes across as a ill infirmed fool referring to Leobardo De caprio acting with Varun Dhawan. Yes varun gave good performance and got rave reviews from many critics , but comparing him with Leonardo who has that amount of work portraying versatility is a unnecessary presuure to the young actor and looks like flattering or chaploosi kind. Its not encouraging the young actor rather misleading him by putting that pressure. Did this guy even bother to see all of Leonardo's work? I highly doubt so, and if yes, then he needs to calm down and see the real fact. Comparing multiple oscar nominated experienced actor woth another new actor who is trying to prove his mettle is unfair from both ends.

But nothing surprising, its bollywood, its nepotism and its jee huzoori.so keep shoting to prove how dumb you can be though claiming know films and its business.

So true and worst even starkids start behaving that way , here VD wasnt even unanimously praised

Bw industry insiders have selective viewing and hearing ability. And it changes as per convenience. Ek meryl streep, ek leonardo mil gaya hai, ek kate winslet, ek sandra bullock, ek de niro, ek russel crowe, ek cumberbatch bhi mil jayenge jaldi. Then we will take on hallywood soon with more vigour

BW ppl need to introspect as to why HW have so many legend and so many good actor and why not BW the reason is here ppl dont take risk once praised they go to doing crap movies for sake of mullahs 😆

And this reason BW is going nowhere , i recently read an article about how forget HW but Indian movie stand no chance even in Asia , the actors are actually brilliant without this much hype

@beinganonymous, ots only the start of the year. Too many films to release, too many performances to see, so lets see if Leonardo of India can bag the award. Awards evade Leonardo very badly though. 😆

I hope VD only has inspirational acting skills like Leonardo and not his ill fated award missout fortune. 🤣

Ahhh...that's one random tweet, and I can definitely see the reason behind this being posted as a separate topic on main forum 😆 I obviously don't agree to this weird comparison being a huge Leo fan myself(do I even need to prove it???just look at my UN man 😆)
Having said that I'd say Varun deserves all the hype and a appreciation coming his way, without a doubt he's the man of moment, I mean come on in all probabilities Badlapur will be his 4th commercial success in a row, needless to mention the critical reception he has got for this one, and after a madcap comedy, a romantic love story this dark thriller is the 3rd extreme enre he has aced(err..almost)
Coming to the never ending outsider star kid debate 😆 yeah of course nepotism exist big time here but I don't think Alia is being prefred over Kriti for RS-SRK-VD bcoz she's a Bhatt but for the fact she was the no. 1 actress of 2014 and hr pairing with VD is highly popular, of course its unfair but its also being practical. And if it was just about being industry kid then why is Kapoor khandaan ka laadla Arjun Kapoor is doing vellagiri and is sitting jobless 😆 whereas a Sushant has undoubtedly the best lineup among the newbies.
