Nidhi beta pasand ker shawl ...dekh daaktar intezaar ker raha hai"it was dadi bua encouraging nidhi to take a brown shawl..as the whole family had shopped while dr ashutosh amused the kids outside..While nidhi remained undecided..armaan confusing her further with a magenta shawl...as col verma sighed .."tujhe to bus anji ke saath hi aana chahiye"!!n dr ashutosh entered with guddi on his shoulders and nishu by his side..n looked at the scenario...he picked up both brown n cream shawls n gave them for packing...as nidhi smiled n dadi bua held her head"he mere bhagwaan..tu bigaad raja hai iss ladki ko..itta nahi chadha sir pe..kahe deti hoon"!!and dr ashutosh laughed"arre dadi bua..ab okhli mei sir diya to mooslon se kya darna"!!and all roared..as the elders with armaan went for a boat ride..cs n maxi with the stuff to catch up some moments in the hotel n ashu nidhi n kids to archies..yes the same archies where nearly 10 years ago...nidhi had taken the pink teddy...still nishu's favourite...
As soon as they entered...nidhi n nshu had warned guddi not to break anything...she got down from ashutosh's lap n stood mesmerised looking at the toys around...and as her gaze fell on a big fluffy white teddy ..she ran n hugged it...looked at ashutosh n simply said"papppaaa..i want teddy"and ashu picked the teddy up...as the lil princess roamed in the dolls section...pulling out one that had long hair...n she looked at nishu n said"lapunzel"and nishu kissed her saying"rapunzel...rr rr guddi "but guddi was off to the next counter...now the imp looked at junkie jewellery...and as an exasperated nidhi said"Maharani...iske liye abhi choti ho..."guddi giggled n went on to pick the strand of fake pink pearls ...as she put them around her neck n kissing her image in the tall mirror ..said"choo chweet"!!with guddi sauntering around with nidhi in tow..ashutosh held nishu n raised his eye brow ..indicating to the lovely battery driven scooty and as the salesman explained the features..nisgu had his eyes wide with amazement...n then like a really good child looked up at his father"chod do papa...i have a car..."ashutosh knelt down to him..n looking into his eyes...kissed his wonderful son n said"beta...i want this for u..papa mamma ka gift because our nishu us such a darling good boy"and as the scooty was being packed..guddi jumped on the air chair...as nidhi finaly relented n allowed aahutosh to buy two for them...and finally ashu lifted his princess up saying "ab aur toys liye to ..ek truck khareedna hoga papa ko"!!!and guddi came out..holding ashu's hand as nidhi followed with nishu ..and the stuff was carried by boys to the hotel...
The family sat together for the last dinner at nainital..sizzlers fir armaan n nidhi ..rice paner n aloo gobhi for the rest...as the sizzlers arrived..nishu coughed but then was curious to taste whike guddi simply declared"fire" ...as nidhi ate with vigour offering a bite to dr ashutosh ..he refused saying "thanks...per i feel ab meri sizzle karne ki age nikal gayi..tum khao..."!!!and nidhi pouted...slowly breaking into a laughter...
As they got up...baba held nishu n guddi ..looking at col verma n then at ashutosh..he said"itne barson..yehi to miss kiya ...apno ka sth...duniya ghoom ke akele ghar me waapas aana kaisa lagta hai..main aur ashu dono jaante hain...sachche arth me ghar to wahi hai hahaan sab apne ho paas...yehi ghar hai..."armaan immiediately butted in"to baba...ab no lucknow...sab naintal mei hi rahenge..."!!and baba pulled his ear saying"aur woh jo din mei chaar baar dr keerti phone ker rahi hai..usse bhi bula lein yahaan"???and all laughed as dr ashutosh looked at armaan ...while armaan looked back at him..n just smiled..his eyes not displaying any emotion...whatsoever..

"Leejiye coffee...aaj chai kyun nahi"??asked nidhi in her black nightie ..as she gave him the mug n went in to change after a prolonged love making...ashutosh sat ..still without his shirt...just in his tracks as nidhi emerged saying"sardi lag jaayegi..ab 51 ho gaye hain...kuch umr ka khayal keejiye"but was silenced with the intense look that her husband gave her...leaving her blushing ...as she sat on the sofa arm..caressing his chest as they looked at the lamps their reflections glittering in the lake..."kitna kuch paaya in dus barson mei..."ruminated ashutosh...playing with nidhi's fingers...as she prodded him"tum mili...ghar mila..baba waapas aaye...bachche..sab khwaab jinka khwaab bhi nahi dekha tha poore ho gaye..."completed dr ashutosh...as nidhi yawned n added"in barson mei...ek neurosurgeon ko maggi ke taste ka mazaa uthana sikhaaya...raat ko deer tak jaagna..aur subah der tak sona sikhaya...aur ...aur.."ashutosh held her face in his hands n completed "hum dono ne zindagi ko jeena sikhaya...in diyon ki tarah humaari ummeedon ne bhi timtimaana seekha...hai na "???and nidhi nodded...as she put her head on his chest...and both kept gazing at the pacific waters of the lake...calm and lovely like their life..."!!
In the adjoining room armaan looked at the cell as it buzzed again..dr keerti...he did not take the call...just kept gazing at the lights reflecting...till his gaze settled on one single lonely lamp..flickering on a dark mountain top...he took out his bottle of scotch...but then put it back...he had to drive the next day...he closed his eyes...n murmured"oh keerti...zindagi itni mushkil kyun hoti hai..."and seemed to hear the clear laughter of naina..."hey armaan...aankhein band ker ke mere baare mei socho...sab sulajh jaayega..."armaan smiled as he closed his eyes n sang ..part of the ghazal that he had heard from baba
"Mushkilein itni padi mujhpe ki aasaan ho gayi..."!!

"Main soch rahi hoon guddi ko do ghante ki liye play school me daal doon...kuch discipline hogi...nextcyear in memsahib ka admission hona mushkil hoga"!!said nidhi as ashu n she drove to kgh ..a day after they returned from nainital...dr ashutosh shook his head disagreeing "abhi to time hai bechari ke enjoyment ja..phir to taa zindagi padgegi..Kyun usse aazaadi nahi enjoy karne deti.."??nidhi smiled "my dear husband for your information yeh guddi gai..agar isse freedom mil gayi to ghar ki sari crockery ka wahi gaal hoga jo aapke 10 chashmo ka hua hai "!!ashutosh interrupted"correction 12 chashme"!!and smiled firmly saying"no play school for my guddi..bus thats final...main aur tum dono sambhalenge usse...log to teen teen bachche sambhalte the...humare to do hi hain...socho kahin guddi ke time twins hote to..socho do do guddi..."!!and nidhi shuddered as dr ashutosh smiled his light hearted naughty smile..something that had come v late into his life...

"Guddi use the fork properly...no hand bilkul nahi..pitaayi hogi...ab"it was nidhi teaching the imp to use the fork..while nishu sat doing a soduku something he really enjoyed...he got up exasperated...took a fork and some maggi in a bowl and came n sat next to guddi n said"see guddi..this way"and guddi observed...n then gleefully clapped and lifted the fork like her brother...lifting the maggi n depositing them in ger mouth...as dr ashutosh smiled as he seemed to say"i told you so"!!!

"Oh hi keerti ..."said armaan sheepishly as he saw keerti in a pale n green tusser sari standing at the cafe cofee day ..waiting for him...as shwe had whatsapped..coffee was ordered and it came as armaan talked about the naintal trip the fun with kids...till he suddenly saw a strange emptiness in keerti's eyes...and there was silence..."kya hua..."asked armaan...keerti spoke in a voice controlled ..but quaking with emotion"why didnt u take my calls"??armaan tried to look away...but then looked back at dr keerti..n spoke"keerti..kaash hum college kids hote..fresh on life..uncomplicated...but sadly aisa nahi hai...i have a heavy baggage of my past...aur uss baggage ke bina main jee nahi sakta...plz ..i dont have anything to offer you..."keerti sighed...as she sipped her coffee"jaanti hoon ki hum youngsters nahi hain...humaara maazi..past hai..apna apna...per kya hum zindagi ki naainsfiyon pe saath huns bhi nahi sakte??sochna ...aur chalo ab mujhe duty pe janaa hai..nahi to dr hardstone zinda ho jaayega phir se"!

"James dinner...where is it"??shouted ahaana as she returned from duty and saw the table. Fridge all foodlss...james emerged from the bedroom looking a lot sleepy n rxclaimed"there are cheese sandwiches ..have them..n you can make soup"!!ahaana looked disgusted..."james i cannot cook...n sandwiches are not dinner...i want pucca north indian dinner...abhi ke abhi..."and james sighed...shrugged his shoulders n went back to the bedroom as ahaana looked around...wanting to expiate her anger...till she found the silk cushions...and soon the entire drawing room was filled with wisps of silk cotton flying around and ahaana sitting on the sofa ...looking at her cell...

"Mamma tomorrow evening i will teach guddi how to ride the car...n scooty...ok"??said nishu to nidhi as she finished reading snow white to them..guddi had fallen asleep midway ..but nishu listened attentively ...and touching guddi's hair he remarked"iske hair kitte curly hain na..."and nidhi warned"zara carefully bahut naughty hai"nishu wrinkled his nose n said'kitti sweet hai...mera to mann nahi lagta jab yeh soti hai..."and dr ashutosh came ...having given a break to his research readings...n carried his doll to her room as nidhi switched off the light of nishus room before which both his parents kissed him...
"Aap to abhi kaam karenge na"??asked nidhi..n ashu nodded n added"tum apna candy crush khelo...highly invigorating isnt'it"??and nidhi made a face ...as her cell rang ..n she seemed tense "ahaana...at this time"??and dr ashutosh reverted back to his paper...knowing well that v soon a troubled nidhi will seat herself in his lap..discussing ahaana's problems...he smiled..as 15 mins later..nidhi came..fidgeted for a minute..then shut his book n sat in his lap..just as he had expected...n as sge openwd her mouth...he interrupted her"haan to ahaana ne kya kiya...crockery todi"??and nidhi pouted "nahi abhi to sirf cushions phaade hain...bechari ne"!!!and dr ashutosh shook his head in prectable disbelief...as nidhi said"ab aap kahenge..IS GENERATION KA KYA HOGA"!!!and dr ashutosh smiled patiently as he said"nahi...bus chai pilaao.aur tab baat karte hain clarity se...aur main kuch aisa kyun kahoonga...meri biwi yaani ki tum to ahaana ki hi generation ki ho..per koi cushion nahi phaade...bartan bhi nahi tode..."and nidhi pouted...as dr ashutosh back hugged her n whispered"plz chai..adrak wali..."and nidhi said"hmmm laati hoon..lekin phir baat sunenge meri ...ahanaa ki problem"??ashutosh nodded and as nidhi went off to make tea ..he said in self thought"tumhari baatein tumhari aawaaz...tumhari muskurahat...yehi to meri zindagi ka sarmaaya hain nidhi..."
