PART 12 : HARMFUL PROXIMITY

It was late night when taani has just given sharon her medicines and gone out of her room to let sharon sleep ...rey has left after visiting Sharon and swayam has gone to the academy and was still not home...taani knew he has gone there deliberately to avoid Sharon...

Taani was sitting there lost in her thoughts when she heard the main door click... she looked at the wall clock to find it showing 12.30 at night... swayam came inside with an exhausted look and was startled to see taani in the lounge...

"tum soye nahi ab tak..." Swayam asked her... taani was scared to see the emotionless face of her brother...his hollow voice...right from the day Sharon was shot and he has come to know the truth he was like this...

"nahi aap bahar the...khana laga doon???"

taani was still not very chirpy while talking to swayam...she was still upset as he took such a huge step... And swayam knew that taani and rey although were talking to him were still not completely convinced...and he knew they were absolutely right on their part...he deserved all of that...

"nahi...maine bahar kha liya..." he whispered... " tumne khaya??sharon ne???"

"haa maine bhabi ko khila diya ... are you sure you have taken dinner???" taani knew swayam was lying...since the past one week swayam hardly took his meals properly...

"tumne khaya????" the concerned brother asked carefully ignoring his dinner part...

"haa..." taani knew her monosyllabic replies would hurt swayam but she couldn't help it..."to fir tum so jao...are you sleeping with Sharon???" he asked...in the entire conversation swayam not for even once met her eyes...

"aap nahi rahenge kamre mein????" taani was shocked...

"aisa nahi hai...matlab mom ne jaane se pehele tumhe kuch bola hai kya?? Sharon ke sath room mein sone k liye???" swayam had expected his mom will not allow swayam in her room and thus will ask taani to sleep with her...

"aisa to kuch nahi bola chachi ne..." taani also knew what made swayam ask her that...

"okay...mai rahunga sharon ke sath..." He said ...

"kuch zarurath pare to mujhe bula lena..." Tanni said although she was sure that he will never disturb her sleep... " aur aap ne bataya nahi...are you sure you had your dinner...?" She narrowed her eyes...

Swayam nodded... He was hurt as taani turned her back and went to her room... for the first time in this one week taani has not even for once called him bhai'... His baby sister who once at every second used to sit on his head calling him bhai at the end of every sentence didn't call him once...

He smiled at his fate and went inside the room to find Sharon fast asleep... He closed the door carefully not to make any sound... he then turned at looked at Sharon sleeping on the bed...the wounds on her shoulder still bandaged... He felt hot tears tricking down his cheeks...

It was all his fault... His Sharon was in pain because him...scratch that...he has no right to call her his...sharon had to take the bullet for him... He regretted every moment... What if he once talked to Sharon..what if he once tried to clear things out...

With these thoughts he came and sat on the edge of the bed and caressed her cheeks...

If he would have tried to talk once before misunderstanding her...before forcing her to marry him...things would have been so different... It was such a big mistake from his part which cannot be mended even he was given a chance to redeem for a life time...

He gritted his teeth hard to stop his tears as the sleepy innocent face of shorn increased his guilt...

She is such an innocent girl...a little princess who deserved all the happiness of the world and what has he done???

She deserved all his love and instead all he had given her was pain and insult... she had given him all the love of the world... Even after so much she still backed him..she still cared for him...her love never decreased and she still has no complaints against him...

He wiped his tears and noticed his pillows kept on other side of the bed as flashes of that night when he had come home drunk and loved her came in front of his eyes... he quickly reminded himself that he has not only loved her but used her as an refuge for his immense pain and confusion..he needed love at that point of time and thus he took advantage that Sharon would never stop him...

More guilt gripped his heart and he felt shallow and unworthy of sleeping next to her...

he did not have any trust on himself... He thought he might hurt her again if he stays near Sharon... the exact same thing which his mom thought ...

So he quickly picked up the pillow and laid down on the couch...maintaining a distance from Sharon...in order to keep her safe..in order to not hurt her... his proximity was not good for Sharon --- this thought has been embedded his mind and heart...
