PART 11 : ABILITY TO HEAL

Rey and taani entered the cabin and looked at swayam who was standing at a distance from the bed as he turned and faced them...before rey could even give an expression to swayam , swayam had turned his face away looking down...

"thik to na bhabi???" taani asked Sharon with a smile... "haa taani..bilkul..." sharon smiled...

she was feeling guilty... Guilty for depending on swayam for everything since childhood... if she wouldn't have been her bhai's dotting sister then swayam wouldn't have thought that taani was incapable of handling her happiness ...taani was always so dependent on swayam that swayam also grew habituated of protecting and shielding her...so much that an innocent girl like Sharon had to suffer so much...just coz of her happiness...suddenly she felt shallow...

"I am sorry bhabi..kahi na kahi I am also responsible..." Before she could complete all three pairs of eyes looked instantly at swayam while swayam looked at taani asking for forgiveness in front of Sharon which increased his guilt and he quietly went out of the cabin...

"taani pls...isme kisi ki koi galti nahi hai...out of everyone tumhari to koi bhi galti nahi hai..." Sharon cried...

"tumne swayam ko dekha taani??? Chala gaya wo yaha se... pls rey..pls taani pls swayam se thik se baat karo...use avoid mat karo..pls it's a request...wo nahi le payega...itna strong nahi hai wo..."

"aur tum bohut strong ho???" rey asked...

"haa hoon...kyunki mere pas mera swayam hai..." She said proudly...

"bhabi..." Taani sobbed...

"tum dono ko samajh mein nahi ata hai kya??bas itna hi jante ho swayam ko... Agar wo mujhe hurt kar raha tha to wo khudko kitna hurt kar raha tha??? Each day I could feel it...each day when he used say something bad to me he used to punish himself...aur kitna punish karoge use??? Can you imagine what he went through???? He was scared to protect you taani... he feared that you will lose your happiness...his only sister had to suffer if something went wrong... He was scared to hurt rey... he was scared that the academy means a lot to rey and even you..taani you mean a lot to rey... he was scared that rey might get hurt... He thought that the girl whom he loved so much doesn't love him back..he thought I don't love him... can you imagine what he went through... he scared of losing me so he got married to reassure himself that I was there in front of him...safe n sound from shivam... He didn't even bother to share his problems with anyone... he went through everything alone rey...alone..." her voice choked ...

"rey pls swayam ko sirf tum sambhal sakte ho..." She looked at him expectantly...

Rey nodded with tears brimming in his eyes...

Rey immediately went out to see swayam leaning on the wall...he went and kept a hand on his shoulder and swayam looked at him with an emotionless face...

"swayam...its okay...sambhal apne aap ko...Sharon thik hai..." rey wanted to say much more but could manage these few words...

And swayam knew rey too well...he knew when he will say something from his heart he will not be restricted with words...

Swayam could only nod and look down...

"swayam...sharon needs you...wo tujhse gussa nahi hai..." Before rey could complete...

"pata hai...par mai khud ki nazron mein gir chukka hu..." he walked outside the hospital...

Sharon had to stay there in the hospital for 1 week...in this one week all their lives were completely changed...swayam used to stay there with Sharon at night ... He used to feed her , give her medicine but never looked into her eyes or never showed any expression on his face ... he used to stay awake for the entire night n even the slightest move from Sharon he used to rush to her to check if she was fine or not... Sharon tried to make conversations with him but he always answered in yes or no or any monosyllables...

During the day he used to go home when his mom was not there at home n freshen up and attend office for sometimes and then again came back to the hospital...

It was the day of sharon's discharge...swayam was standing in the reception signing the discharge form when rey came

"swayam...aunty chahti hai ki taani tere ghar pe kuch din k liye rehe... Aur mujhe bhi aisa lagta hai... wo khayal rakhegi jab tu nahi hoga..." swayam knew very well that his mom doesn't want Sharon alone with swayam as she was leaving for delhi... He also knew taani being a girl can handle Sharon very well...

He could only nod his head and left...

He entered sharon's cabin and saw her dressed in a yellow comfortable churidar so that her wounds won't hurt... She was sitting on the bed all ready to leave and taani was helping her get up...

" I'll help..." He said without any expression and came forward and picked Sharon up...

"swayam...ye kya kar rahi ho... I can walk..." Sharon got awkward swayam's gesture in the hospital...

"I know...but still..." Sharon didn't know what to do after hearing him reply... he was changed in this week... He kept his conversations to a bare minimum with everyone... She knew he needed time to heal... himself as well as her...but she knew that life is the affirmation and reaffirmation of one's belief and ability to heal...
