I found Puneet statement to be completely fake. He has talked about Sonali behind her back so many times that I doubt he would ever consider saving her from nominations.

Praneet might have made fun of Nigaar earlier and was irritated with her in between too but he did not want to argue with her after she got eliminated. He wanted to end on a peaceful note but Mr Puneet could not digest that cause he has never respected any woman in this house. Apparently Praneet cannot be nice to people he has made fun of and has to humiliate them even further after they have been eliminated.
