I think both epi 20 and 21. Epi 20 showed that deep down two bitter partners still connected by emotional strings and spe ially khirad just showed her most vulnerable side in the most heart wrenching way breaking all her self created shell of ice. She broke down showing she was still the same khirad who longed for support from her beloved.

And epi 21 was for me signified closure of Asher 's pain of being betrayed, being secluded and that mirror scene asking god to help him out was his ultimate way of letting it go , the vitriol which was so corrosive , that ate him up. It was ultimate xatharsis moment for him.

So in a way both protagonists rejuvenated their emotional self after a long cold season of winter of heart.

Loved the episode , emotionally charged . What stood out for me .
1 - Khirad telling Farida to keep off in no nonnsense tone when she was shouting at the maid

2 - Telling her mother not to use the harsh tone before Hareem and Farida is aware that Asher is getting softer and thats why goes on reminding the crap .
3 When Farida tells Khirad that she has trained her daughter and all and then Khirad gives her back . Khirad is quite aware of that Asher is also in mental turmoil otherwise where was need to remind Farida that she ruined his own son life . She knows he is not happy .
4 - When readying Hareem for the hospital and both sitting together as they both were going through the same pain and that pain joined them together . . Asher,s heavy voice with emotions and then looking at Khirad and says hai na mamma . It can touch anyone,s heart .

5-This scene can bring tears to anyone,s eyes . Khirad praying to god , crying bitterly , when you become desperate . asher standing there and looking at her softly and Khirad when looks at her and asks , she will come back ? her expressions were like a child who is asking for assurance that all will be right .
This last scene belongs to Mahira completely , she was brilliant in this scene .

In today's episode, the scene where Ashar mentally prepares Hareem for the surgery was so brilliantly done. All three did a wonderful job. Even the child artist was so surprisingly good. I could feel exactly what Ashar and Khirad were going through. Ashar kept stealing glances at Khirad cuz he knew Khirad was holding herself from breaking down. Mahn! Ashar surely was such a sweetheart! :'(

I think Humsafar was already discussed when it was not even came on Zindgi . from now on its more heart wrenching journey of the parents who are united in the pain . Both can feel each other,s pain . And so many moments of Khirad and equally of Asher . I do not know how many times have seen these episodes just forwarding the ones i do not want to see . Both have bring the best of each other . This last episode are the best . I have read many times that story has been told many times . It depends how the director gives the wings to his imagination , same story can be told by many . but its the interpretations and how the actors bring alive the characters that you can feel their pain . Here same FK and MK has done . They take you in their world where you feel their desperation , agony and hanging between hope .

Today's Episode is one of the many emotionally charged episodes.. But not emotionally draining.. I loved the part where Khirad stood up against Fareeda in her no-nonsense atitude! I love this khirad..!! ❤️ The feminist in me was hooting in joy!!! 😃 This shows that She isnt afraid or scared of Fareeda anymore. Whether she creates any scenes or call any1. I love the line.."Main lanat bhejti hunn aap par aur aapke bete par!" Bravo Bravo Khirad! 👏👏 The Most emotional scene has to be where Asher-Khirad are mentally preparing Hareem for her surgery.. And where Khirad is praying for their daughter.. And Asher's assurance. This shows that two bitter partners who dont even want to b wid each other still have a common string in between them which is binding them very strongly.. I was waiting for Sara-Asher scene but guess I have to wait till tomorrow.. Tomorrow seems xciting!!! Now I can really say that this is the best phase of Humsafar!! Love it more than the first one!! Fawad Afzal Khan Rocks!! ❤️❤️❤️

I have not fully watched HS - had skimmed over earlier episodes - but watched later ones in more detail. But I have watched ZGH fully.

It seems to me that HS was a much tricker thing to get right - while ZGH could tolerate a bit of leeway since is script driven.

HS seems to capitalize a lot on the acting - in subtle elements - and in the music that accompanies the emotions that are happening on screen. While I have not been too charitable to Sarmat Khoosat - maybe there was some element of his involvement. Although I cannot discount the role of "producer" (as in PTV producer) - who are often all-controlling - and here Momina Duraid would have overall say. I wonder who did the music - and whether it is a music director - or does producer actually accompany that (or Khoosat did) ?

But HS has many elements that could easily have been done wrong - at times I felt that MK does cry too much (or maybe is slightly weak in that - i.e. as if forcing crying - as in the last episode scene with FK and his mother) - but others may have different take on that. But it was never excessive - so if anything the play manages to avoid the most blatant of mistakes which could have ruined it.

On the other hand some scenes are really sublime/electric at the same time - the scene with FK and MK in the park - full of nuance and balancing the different views of FK and MK is truly outstanding - and feeling of emptiness when FK's performance gets no response from MK. This same strategy is used to effect in the scene in episode 15 when MK meets FK and tells of daughter and needing his help - again very intelligent handling of how MK would respond (since is treating FK as a hostile party already - would not respond to his flareup).

There are other scenes as well.

As many have already said - the appeal of the actors is important as well - and perhaps this is what takes the drama to the next level (overall casting is good as well) - that they care. I could just as well imagine some of the other "actors" in pakistan playing those parts - and it would not have had half the effect. Since both MK and FK exude freshness - and same could be said for other actors - for example Sara in HS may have been doing one of her first roles (?) maybe.

EDIT: I would like to note the freshness factor also played a part in Hasina Moin's plays - where she would often choose new actors (she or her producer or whatever) - for example Marina Khan and Shehnaz Sheikh were new. I think Javed Sheikh also made an entry in one of those dramas. So there is an element of picking fresh faces - and essentially doing real "casting" (which may not happen that much in pak dramas generally - since people maybe lazy or try to work with the same actors over and over again - because less risk and more convenience etc.). Also (perhaps with arrival of digital equipment, the internet and easier flow of information, and newer generation of film staff) now there is more outside shooting in real locations and real homes - something which was not done in earlier dramas.

HS has some interesting camera work - for example the first scene of the first episode moves from the ramshackle building exteriors to MK putting up the laundry on the balcony of her house - this type of scene would not usually appear in older pak tv dramas etc.

I would like to ask all those people here who watched HS during its original run that when was the moment they realized that they love Asher-Khirad,more precisely what was the point that they fell for the show?
For most of the Indian viewers we already knew that it was the most popular show there and thus we watched it with the perspective that what was so great about it but what was the turning point in the show that made people love it so much back then because at that moment no one would have realized what would it be in the future.

Its the director,s take how he imagines the situation, scene and characters . In Khirad kind of situation either you are totally break or you become strong . In the early stage when she was thrown out that ti,me she was shattered and a broken person . But as for Khirad,s personality it was shown that she was the person of few words and a woman with self respect and dignity . She loved asher with her whole self where ego or self respect ha no place . When Asher rings her as he is also feeling bad that he was rude to her and when tells her that he was rude , she says mujhe bura nahi laga . She waited for Asher but Hareem,s birth cut the emotionally attached thread . And Khirad was the old Khirad with pride who can take care of her own daughter and she must have to be very strong when she says Asher Hussein is dead for me . Her daughter illness shattered her again and then her going to Asher where she says her self respect as a woman was dying somewhere when i was stepping to Asher,s office .
I have now started watching Pak shows after ZGH and have sen many on you tube . Triangle is not new concept has been going from 50.s . Liked Sara ,s acting also
This show has so many aspects on human nature .
