@Magnetic field seems to be a plausible reason , or some sort of radiation coming out from those things. My grad school bio and physics would be so embarrassed with these dart board responses but I am so confused.

Her dad holds the key . I feel the pen was some sort of experiment that sadly couldn't be completed because of the accident that happened due to to meteors. And somewhere a part of it was in India which also got affected and maybe Dhruv was exposed to it.

Behavioural wise both Rishab and Dhruv are very similar, just Rishab is the one who has suffered more, maybe because he is still young .
