Sundas I will be honest with you. I am in that group who enjoyed zgh much more and love zaroon kashaf and their journey more like many others. I do think zgh in totality impressed me much more. I liked each character and their plots here unlike humsafar where I felt the story was only revolving around protagonists. Regarding Fawad -sanam chemistry vs Fawad -mahira chemistry, The FM hysteria and people constantly fantacising them put me off completely. Moreover I thought Fawad Sanam chemistry was more fluid, organic and real in comparison to Fawad Mahira whoae chemistry is like carrying an aura, something untouchable or unimaginable in real life. Couples like that do not exist in contemporary world. They had that old world filmi charm like eternal jodis which can be cherished on screen but cannot be related to life. Sorry but thats my opinion.
Regarding Mahira vs Sanam, I will just aay Sanam was given most author backed kickass role of a female lead which she excelled and kudos to her for that. Regarding Mahira, I thought she was ok but her strength of character post leap surprised me. She had spine to tell Asher that her pregnancy issues should not matter to him as he did not care enough and none of his belongings are hers as the man himself is not hers. Though she disappointed me many times , but I will also say, I cannot see any one else playing khirad too. She was into the character and I cried for her in 13th and 15th episode. But she is not exciting firecracker kind of performer like Saeed who can challenge or intimidate a great actor like Fawad. Thus I think at times its only the CHEMISTRY part which gets so emphasized when ever we talk about humsafar. Its never about performance of Mahira or Fawad, its always about their dynamics as actors onscreen. Isnt that unfair to both the actors individually who put that much effort to gice life to Asher and khirad? More than fawad, I tjink its unfair to Mahira that her performance is only confined in terms of discussion as how she was so well tuned with Fawad. Yes Fk was pure brilliance in that show , specially post leap , he overshadowed every body , but humsafar would npt have been this success withput Mahira, Aatiqaotho, Naveen and Hina bayat or even the guy who played khizer. So its unfair to discredit all these people to proce a point that anpther show was greater because my liking in entertainment is different. I still think zgh is far better content wise and thought provoking, but humsafar is not a garbage too as many people trying to pose too. There are worse shows than that which became more popular here in INDIA and peopke still gush over those. Does that make those show 's popularity unworthy? No , those become popular as audience verdict was they liked it. Just like that humsafar became that much hugely popular as audience in pakistan gave thumbs up to it. They also gave thumbs up to zgh too, but does that make any of the show unworthy of the popularity they got, I dont think so, it was in the destiny of it, and thus this happened. Better to accept it and move on while enjoying fictional content as per our individual tastes.
But unfortunately zgh vs humsafar is an eternal debate on social media as it had the great FAWAD AFZAL KHAN at his best elements and with popularity comes controversies, fanwars and social media frenzy. This debate is resultant of that only. But does it matter to solo Fawad fans lije me? Absolutely not, as people can write as much as they want about x vs y, but never deny the fact Fawad's acting was top notch in both and that only matters to me. Asher and Zaroon will always be remembered for the portrayal and thats the biggest appreciation for the actor for whom the debate is generally initiated.
