Male or Female?

Does singing come more naturally to girls or to guys? I feel girls are always more technically correct singers than males even in the established singers... I dont recall right now, but I have noticed in many popular songs that the female singer has sung a mukhda with extreme perfection in the alaaps and murkis whereas the male counterpart on the same notes has been less accurate and a lil flat compared to the female... Don know, might be a coincidence... Maybe it wud be better if I sited an example but its like - u notice it when u hear it but then u cant recall...

I may not be the best technically trained person to comment on this; but here is what I feel as a layman 😳 ...

I think its the clarity and the softness of the voice that often goes in favor of girls giving an impression that they are technically more perfect; but actually it may not be so... Its totally upto the voice quality of the individual and we could possibly not generalise... Interestingly, if we look at our Film music, we have many instances where we have the same song available in 2 versions, on sung by a male singer and one by a female singer.. More often than not, I have noticed that the happier version of the song is usually sung by the female (again probably the softness of her voice generates a more happy feeling) and the sadder is a male version (probably because the heavier male barritone provides the richness of the pathos needed).. and we tend to like the version with which we associate more... But, again it can be all situational too...

So, overall I think its the voice quality that dictates what fits with the gender voice.... Would love to hear the viewpoints of more technically learned people here 😊

Jayaji we always have nice discussions 😳 ok, back to topic - i kinda agree with u - the happier versions have been sung by females - u see the example of Aashiqui title track, or Tere darr par sanam - the faster versions r in female voice... But I was actually talking of duets - where we have both male and females - and u have the same note once in male and then repeated in female voice... i noticed that the female singers have finesse but males tend to forego the minute variations in notes... sorry, me too not technically qualified - by no means😆 so am speaking just on wat i hear as a listener - and of more recent songs... i will try to remember some song and site it 😛

May not always be the case, I guess... I think varies from song to song.... Consider 'Dheere Jalna' - I think Sonu rocks in that song... In 'Pihu bole', Sonu and Shreya sing it with equal finesse... So, may its upto the singers who are singing the duet.... I will come back with more points on this one after some more thinking 😊

There is no comparison b/w male n a female voice...

becoz the pitch of a male voice is low... as well as the pitch of female voice is high...
so no comparison...

2nd...

Female can sing a song to the extreme high Nodes easily... becoz they shirink ther voice for the high nodes and whenever u will shirink ur voice ur voice will become symetry, and ther u can create any type of variations...


but now males can also turn ther voices shirink according to the high nodes..(as Sonu nigham do), and they successfully come down to the lower nodes...


female do good job in lower nodes but not very good as male can do this...


so Every one is best at his/her time perfection...



So no Comparison...

Most Indian male singers do not have baritones.

That apart, I know what Sachin is saying about female voices sounding more correct, but I am thinking that maybe it is just a difference between better and worse singers. Perhaps in this present crowd, the women are markedly better?
