chapter 11
2 months had passed since bani had joined her uni back ...in this 2 months she managed to become friends with a girl called rano...even though they werent very close ..but the friendship was good n the best part she stayed at the same residence as bani...but her source of strength even in the past 2 months had been jai n only jai....for whenever she was bothered ...scared ..in pain ...she had got clear instructions that she call him irrespective of what time it was ..n she followed them..talking to him helped her ...and in the last 2 months she had developed a new habit ..that of scribbling her innermost feelingd on paper n then tearing it later on ...this scribbling was done whenever she felt the extreme of an emotion.. n today was one such nite ..where she was brimming with happiness ...her best friend was arriving in london tomorrow..yes jai was goin to be here ....n she was goin to give him a surprise by meeting him at the airport..so she wrote her inner most feelings on a piece of paper ..and went to bed thinking of who else but jai....jai walia who was making waves in the uk due to his joint venture with hilton group of hotels ...the deal for entire eurasia was gonna be announced tom...but jai had started hitting the headlines already ..and what did they call him handsome suave unbelievably successful charming ...the list was long ...the words like cold n all also appeared but the first ones ...made bani smile..hmm they were rite indeed ....

the last two months for jai had been all work coupled with concern for bani ....at work sometimes his eyes wud shift from his laptop screen to his n bani's pic kept on the table ..he wud get lost in her thoughts..n wud end up smiling ..same was the case when he sometimes closed his eyes to relax....much to masi's surprise he had started wearing the shirt gifted by bani very frequently ...even though he never wore such brite colours....he surprised his staff n family by taking off frm work for a day ..he said he was doing so bec he needed a break ..which stunned everyone ..sahil found the real reason behind the off ...bani's assignment which hadnt been able to do bec she didnt know how to do it..rano was no help..and it was 25% weightage so she cudnt let it go ....the due date was fast approaching ...and one nite out of sheer desperation she called up jai ..so jai took it upon himself to do it for her ...so the day off ..as he went back to his college books in the study and solved the assignment and sent it on email to her..much to masi amazement ..jai never went out of the way for ne one ..helping was really not jai walia's nature ..it wasnt .....

today as jai boarded his flite to london along with adi he was feeling too good he hadnt felt like this for months ....why he wondered ...he strained himself for an answer the entire trip the only logical reasom he came to was bani...now bani's mention led to another question had she made a place so deep in his heart ..that the very thing of meeting her ..did wonders to him ...was he already caught in the emotional trap he had denied having fallen into many times when he lay awake in those sleepless nites...hmm he vehemently denied it again in his mind ..jai walia is not an emotional fool ..but then why was this happening to him ...why was that elusive smile pasted on his face today ?...he was searchin for an answer when the announcement that they were abt to land at heathrow airport broke his thoughts

bani was all dressed up and ready to leave when she decided to chek on jai 's flite....yes it was on time..she grabbed her bag and left .....
there was a group of people ro receive jai at the airport ..and bani was regretting her decision to have come all the way...she didnt want to end up embarassing jai because of her ..she looked at the the bunch of flowers she had piked on the way for jai ...they stood nowhere in comparison to the flower bouquets some in the receiving party were carrying ...she wanted to leave but then thought ..atleast i can just see him that wud be gud enuf ...her thoughts stopped midway as she saw her best friend arrive with adi uncle following him...and as the receiving party moved towards jai ...bani thought it was probably time to leave .....

jai even in thru that group of people who had blocked his vision sort of cud see her ..yes it was her and she had come all the way to receive him how sweet ...the warm feeling rose in his heart ..but whats this she is leaving ...he excused himself frm the group and took some quick steps towards her ..and then caught one of her arms and turned her arnd ...surprising her completely though she knew frm the grip it was him....
jai: where do u think u r going ?
bani: woh mujhe nahin pataa thaa , u were being received by people , actually silly of me ab u r striking such a big deal to ye to expected hi thaa, main stupid ki tarah aa gayi..socha surprise karoongi but phir lagaa i mite just end up embarassing u isliye i was going back
jai: silly girl..surprise diye bina hi jaa rahi thi ..hmmm so where is my hug ...im still waiting ..(as bani flashed her dimpled smile and wrapped her arms warmly arnd jai...wow he thought ....if this is what u get in an emotional trap i m always gonna remain trapped he thought ..)
bani: ye flowers bhi lelo not as gud as the ones u've got jai interrupted her by saying its not the object but the feeling that counts making bani smile ...ab go back to yr group why do u wanna get embarassed ...
jai: to cum with me ...
bani: main kisliye
jai: adi se nahin milna n then ill drop u to yr uni abhi kuch der tumhara lec haina ...as they both walked towards the group ...jai walking with his one hand firmly gripping bani's hand ..she was stumped he remembered her lec timings as well ....
so bani met adi uncle ..and then jai dropped her off at her uni .....

jai sent her a text asking her to meet him in his hotel room in the evening ..he gave his room no n asked her to collect the keys frm the front desk since he wudnt be there until abt 7 pm ...so bani made her way to the hilton ...and asked for jai 'room keys ......she made her way thru the elevator and got to the room ..well the room had to be grand that was no surprise to her but it was cozy as well and bani made her self comfortable in the large couch and started to read her book as exams were due in jan and jai well there was still sum time left before he wud turn up.....bani was lost in her book when it suddenly struck her it must have been over an hr since she's been here ..where was jai he had said for 7 and now its almost 7:50pm ..must have got stuk in that meeting ...hmmm she deicded to go back to her reading...sumwhere while reading she dosed off

it was 10pm when jai entered the hotel along with adi ..he was like bani she 's gonna be mad at me ....he told adi maine use 7pm kahaa thaa ...10 mins later they both entered jai's room only to find bani merily sleeping on the couch her book resting on her chest and a few strands of her hair covering her face ..jai cud not help but smile...adi left for his room saying dinner pe milte hain in abt 15 mins wake her up....adi left closing the door ... jai was very tired but he kept standing and looked at her she looked even better like this pure angelic beauty and smiled to himself bechari meri wajah se without dinner hi so gayi aur itna bada bed pada tha n she was alone fir bhi couch pe itna uncomfortably so rahi hai...he quickly took out his tracks n t n went for a quick shower....once ready he decided to wake her up he went close to her ear n yelled bani ...bani woke uo with a jerk ..and instinctively she hit him on the shoulder with her fist....
bani: ye koi tareeka kisi to uthane ka ..when did u come back she said geting up
jai: 15mins ago..
bani: accha just then adi arrived n said gus everyone ready for dinner ...so they ordered food ...n then sat down to have their meal ...most of the dinner conversation was dominated by bani as adi n jai kept asking her abt uni n all , jai was happy to c the old bani back ...
adi was first to leave as he felt very tired n sleepy ...bani collected her stuff n when a storm warning flashed on the tv along with the request that all people stay where they r ..bani was like ab yahi baaki thaa...she looked at jai ..
jai: need a change ..u can take sumthing of mine
bani was like aapka yr size must be like 3/4 times mine man yr t shirt actually cud become my full nite dress ...hmmm as she moved to where his clothes were n saw chits on his clothes ...jai ye chits kis liye wo masi ne likhe kis din what to wear so that o dont have a prob this is one thing i cant do ..bani smiled at that ....jai u are a funny guy....she piked a t n pjs for herself ..she new this was gonna end as a pure disaster ...she went n changed n loooked at herself she looke like a clown the clothes were too big for her ...jai's short leeve t was like a full sleeave below knee lengthe nightie for her n the pjs however much she tried to tightened it arnd her waist it wud still be loose ...
jai: bani whats taking u so long ...
bani; u r still awake go to sleep i look like a clown and iam in no mood of being yr source of entertainment ...
jai: i need to use the loo and i wont laugh ok i no those clothes r big for u
bani: promise u wont laugh
jai: yup
she walked out looking like a clown n jai well he saw her n burst out this was too hilarious for him to control his laughter
bani saw him laufing ..she was furious he promised not o but she remembered how she looked n cudnt help but laugh herself both were in splits ....with bani hitting jai with a cushion for laufing at her .....n later she slept on her couch while jai on the bed...much to jai's dislike as he wanted it the other way ...

Both of them woke up when adi rang the bell ..jai was still sleepy but bani got up n opened the door ..gmorning adi uncle ..u can also lauf at my dress yr friend already had his share ..if not for that stupid storm warning ...
adi just smiled ..jai is a mean guy lemme tell u he said
bani: uncle i second that ..
adi asked jai to get ready fast it was already 8 , baniw as like jai tumhari wajah se lec gayaa mera ...jai was like 40 min to the meeting holy christ ...bani quickly took out his clothes for him ...n handed them to him ...uncle u guys leaving today then
adi said ya ..tonite 11pm flite
the spark vanished frm her face n adi saw that ... jai came out the shower almost fully dressed ..bani handed him his jacket n accessories n asked for breakfast he said no bahut der ho jayegi ...u get ready ill drop u ..bani said ull get late ill go on my own c u then tonite.....
jai n adi left ..later so did bani...she was not feeling good as jai was leaving but he jai had to some day didnt he....

when jai came back that evening he found all his stuff neately packed ..he looked for her but she wasnt there instead he found a note ...just the fact u r leaving has made me so sad that ceeing u leave in front my eyes will be too much for me to bear ..he didnt read it further on n called her...she piked up n he knew she was crying ....he spoke to her at length and by the end of the convo she was her usual self n jai was happy abt that ....she was too attached to him he thought was this good for her? was the big question

approx 5 months had passed since jai's visit to london ..life was on as usual for both jai n bani ..they spoke regularly ....
For bani jai had taken a special place no doubt ...she cared a lot for him n missed him as well ...some nites when his call wud get delayed she wud be all sad n restless ..wondering what was wrong ....rano at times told her she was maybe in love with him but bani dismissed her ideas completely ..

for bani's 2nd year final exams massi had been sent to take care of her .....well to put it the correct everyone thought this was the best way to put jai at ease since they had seen how he was a nervous wreck when bani gave her exams (just 2 in jan)....
jai didnt call much while massi was there ...bani was also very busy with her exams but she did miss jai's calls ...he use to just text her before her exam wishing her luck n then later on text her again asking her how it went....
so 2 weeks went by without hearing her voice ..they were like two years for him ...very painful indeed ..his not talking to her showed its effect at work as well as he was back to usual sulking ,yelling n irritated self....which was a rude shock to everybody who had sort gotten use to a calmer jai by now .....the evenings at home were even worse ..even though he tried to spend as much time with sahil ,anu n ranveer but ..for whatever time he was alone he felt miserable ....why was this happening to him ...this is what he had feared ..he never wanted to get caged in an emotional trap..now he was .....n saw no way of getting out of it.....

bani n masi were back ..even though bani was only back for 2 weeks but she was back.....she was to go back n do her internship with jai's firm in london only ....yup jai's new office

as she made her way to the closet n took out one of his black suits n his white shirt ....and gave it to him
jai; not this one give me the other one , the one u gave me
bani handed that one to him quite surprised that he wore it ..may be he was wearing it today so that she feels good she thought ....
masi came in n saw bani taking care of jai's things while he was getting ready ...n smiled to herself .. ...when saahil came n whispered in her ear 'pyaar to hona hi thaa ...'only to make masi smile even further....and left
just as bani was abt to leave the room once jai was ready ..jai stopped her n came n stood face to face with her ..and out came out a wrapped box which he gave to her warmly wishing her a very happy birthday ..bani was surprised yes it was 2nd june her bday ..n she didnt even remember and there was no one else to remind her well ofcourse except jai ..she cud barely manage a smile ..as tears welled up her eyes ...jai hugged her warmly n told her not to worry ..n be happy thata what young age is for .....as he went out shouting for everyone n telling them it was bani's bday...as the entire family then came to wish her ...later that evening just a small party with family n tarun was organised ...and it did manage to cring that semi elusive dimpled smile back on her face ..which unconciously made his heart skip a beat.....

2 weeks just flew by and jai cursed tthe fact .......Bani left for her internship ....yes the rules were the same ..they spoke daily ..but this time this wasnt enuf for jai .just talking to her didnt suffice ..he for the first time since his parents went away felt that he was missing someone ..and yes it was bani ..he never missed roshni even though there wud be weeks when they wudnt meet or talk but here he spoke to her daily but still he missed her ..this wasnt the case last time arnd ..bani was away the whole of last year talking to her helped but now it wasnt ..he was feeling miserable and wanted to meet her .. he cudnt understand his own changed behaviour ...had the trap's grip so badly tightened arnd him ...no way ..was he in love ..dont even think on those lines he said to himself she is anu's age its criminal in a way...then what was the issue he tried stear away her thoughts but they didnt leave him while at work during the day they took a backseat in his mind ..working in this office was better much better atleast he didnt loose time lost in her thoughts but the thoughts came to the fore in the evening when he was working alone in his study ....Every evening he remebered her n the times spent with her n smiled to himself ...and at night as well he remembering her he went to bed ....he was gonna see her soon he knew cos the software meet was scheduled in london and he was gonna be there ..but these 9 months ..rufly 40 weeks ..280 evenings of remembering her n the times spent with her had been too hard for jai to bear .....what kind of a friend was she if dhe didnt let him work......
