I missed a few epis I think. He's earning and Raman's family is aware of it. They don't want to send Simmi to him coz they don't want Param to mess up Simmi's life in their absence. I thought Param's salary is less than 65K or something and that's why Raman tells him to pay him that much rent or just that he should pay rent coz he is staying free of cost. that doesn't make sense actually coz as you said he's already earning. Yeah I got the pervert part.
