The next afternoon, Kripa was in her room folding away her shopping for all her and Angad's relatives and putting them away when suddenly he sneaked up behind her and grabbed her waist, lifting her off the ground! Kripa squealed in fright : ANGADDD! CHHODO MUJHEY!

He let her go, laughing in glee: Kyun darr gayi?
She punched him hard on his chest: Bahut shaitaan ho…mujhey itna dara diya!

She placed a hand on her chest, trying to calm down her wildly beating heart. She had really been scared by him this time, not expecting him to turn up in her bedroom like that. Angad at once put his hand on her chest, trying to feel her heartbeats: Zara main bhi toh dekhoon tumhari dil ki dhadkanein kya kehti hain?
She slapped his hand away: Haath hathao, Mister! Ab se shadi tak no hanky-panky.

He cupped her face in his hands: Sweetheart! How can you be so cruel to me?
Kripa laughed and pinched his cheeks: Ab thodey dinon ki toh baat hai…..mere liye itna bhi intezaar nahin kar saktey" she looked up at him teasingly. Then she asked him: Lekin tum andar kaisey aaye? Ghar mein toh koi nahin hai"

He declared dramatically: Main darwaza todkar aa gaya….duniya ka koi bhi darwaza ab mujhey tumsey door nahin rakh sakta" Then he laughed: Maria Sur ko lekar bahar jaa rahi thi tabhi main andar aa gaya.
His eyes glinted wickedly: Toh abhi ghar mein koi nahin? (Prateek was in Art class and Maria had taken Sur to the Children's Park nearby, Bua had gone to a friends house)

Angad suddenly scooped her up in his arms and carried her to the bed: Hum tum ek kamrey mein band ho aur chaabi kho jaaye….he started singing in her ears.
Kripa rolled away from under him: Angad, badmaaashi mat karo. Bua nahin chahti ke hum shadi se pehley ….ke tum and main……she started blushing.
Oh Come On, Baby, abhi 15 din baaki hain shadi mein…..how will I stay away from you? Angad complained.

Nahin, Angad, issey apshagun hota hai, please Bua ki baat maan jaao, she caressed his cheeks, pleading with him lovingly.
Angad whispered in her ears romantically : Kya tumhey yaad hai aaj ka date kya hai?
Kripa blushed again….it was Christmas Eve, the 5th Anniversary of their first night together:
" Haan yaad hai," she said shyly.

Toh phir aaj raat mere saath dinner date per chalo….I want to celebrate our fifth aniversary.
Kripa looked at him from under her eyelashes and said: Theek hai, lekin sirf dinner date, aur kuchh nahin….. she laughed.
Angad said huskily: Pyaasey ko itna mat tadpao"
Kripa whispered back: Pyaas jitni badhegi, .. pyaar aur bhi zyada badhega …..lekin shadi ke baad.
Angad bargained: Theek hai, lekin ek kiss toh de do.
Kripa leaned to him and kissed his cheek: Nahin yahan….he pointed to his firm lips.
She kissed him on his lips and quickly rolled out of bed before he could grab her and deepen the kiss. She knew if he started kissing her, they wouldn't be able to stop.

Angad helped her put away the shopping and then she pushed him out of the room and changed into a beautiful red zardozi and put on makeup. She had just worn long gold earrings with the sari.
Angad was already dressed in a red shirt and dark Dinner Jacket, looking handsome and distinguished.

She opened the door finally, posing for his inspection.
Hmmm, not bad," he admired her glowing beauty in the red sari: Lekin ek kamee reh gayi.
He took out a long velvet box from his pocket and took out a beautiful diamond and ruby necklace. She turned towards the mirror and lifted her silky hair, exposing her nape. He came behind her and put on the necklace for her, kissing her neck afterwards. He looked at her in the mirror, circling his arms around her waist and rested his chin on her almost bare shoulder. She looked at him through the mirror, fingering the gorgeous necklace, love shining in her eyes as the diamonds shone at her neck.

Thank You, Angad" she said softly.
Sirf Thank you? he whispered in her ears, making her senses tingle.
She blushed , then turned and kissed him on his lips. At once he hugged her tight and deepened the kiss, making her breathless for a few moments! But he let her go after that with a whimsical smile. She wiped her red lipstick from his lips, laughing up at him.

Chalo ab neechey, ab tak Bua Ji aa gayi hogi, hum unhey bataakar jaatey hain.
They went down the stairs together, a stunning couple in red and black.
After informing Bua, they went out for dinner at the Taj Hotel. Everybody looked at them as they walked in….they looked so perfectly made for each other and so much in love.
Angad had reserved a cozy table for two in a corner. They had a candlelight dinner, staring into each other's eyes while their fingers twined and played with each other on the table, doing what they longed to do but couldn't!

They were hardly aware about what they ate and drank, just lost in each other. After dinner, they danced slowly to soft music playing on the piano. Angad pulled her very close to him, so she could hear his thundering heartbeats and feel his desire for her.

They spent the whole evening there till midnight, then Angad took her to a nearby Church where the Midnight Mass was being held. Kripa wore the ring that Angad had given her that night 5 years ago. He kissed that ring and they both kneeled down and prayed earnestly to God for a smooth sailing in their future lives.
Please God, ab mere aur Angad ke beech mein koi nahin aaye, aur hum hamesha saath rahein, main buss aur kuchh nahin chahti aap sey. Kripa prayed fervently.

Angad prayed: God! Please let me keep Kripa happy for the rest of our lives. I want to give her all the happiness in the world and make her life as complete as she has made mine"
They held hands and took the blessings of the priest again before they left the Church, hand in hand.

In the car back home, Angad kissed her gently and said: Kripa, I will wait for you till our wedding day. But you must come to my home tomorrow and see Dad. He really wants to see you and Prateek again, and you must also meet my other relatives who are coming to see me for the first time, my Dad's family who I have never seen before.
Kripa was very excited to hear that…..Angad was finally getting what was his birthright….acceptance and acknowledgment from his father's family.
She hugged him: Oh Angad, I am sooo happy, tumhey phir se apna family wapas mil gaya"
Angad said gruffly: Wo toh mujhey usi din mil gaya tha jab tum aur Prateek mere zindagi mein wapas aa gaye"

The next day, Kripa took Prateek from school and met Angad's extended family at his home.
His uncle-aunt and 2 cousins who lived in Mumbai, his Bua who lived in Pune and had come to see him.
All of them were thrilled to meet Angad, Kripa and Prateek and promised to attend the wedding full force.
Somesh had a wonderful time, proudly showing off his handome son, beautiful bahu and cute grandson to his brother and sister.

Somesh and Nick were staying at Angad's house, Kripa went over everyday and took care of her father-in-law. There was a full-time nurse to look after him but she made lunch and dinner for them everyday. She had become quite an expert cook in the last few years under Bua's tutelage. But Angad teased her about her cooking and disturbed her in the kitchen whenever he got the chance! But with so many people in the house, he barely had a chance to get Kripa alone or kiss her or cuddle her.

Just before New Years Eve, Mishti, Kartik and Karishma arrived from Chicago. Mishti had brought a huge amount of gifts for the wedding from cosmetics, perfumes and lingerie for Kripa to toys and games for Prateek and Sur. The two sisters had a grand reunion at Nishant's house. Kripa fussed and cuddled her niece Karishma while Mishti cuddled and fussed over Prateek and Sur.. Mishti and Kartik went to dinner with Angad and Kripa just like old times, where they reminisced about their holiday in Goa 5 years ago.
Mishti was staying with her in-laws in Mumbai. She had met her parents and convinced Dilip to attend Kripa's wedding:

Toh tum dono honeymoon per kahan jaa rahey ho? Mishti asked curiously.
Angad and Kripa both simultaneously replied : GOA! Then looked at each other and smiled. They hadnt even consulted each other about this before but each knew where they wanted to go…..back to where it all had started, where they had met and fallen in love.
Mishti laughed loudly: Of course! I should have guessed! Goa, By all means!

They celebrated New Year's at Angad's lavish new house in Juhu….Nishant, Bua and Kripa came with the kids, Angad's cousins, aunts, uncles and business friends all attended. Naina came with Mishti, Kartik and Karishma.
Angad was wearing a navy blue suit with a blue shirt and Kripa wore a dark blue sari with sequins which looked like the night sky alongwith diamond jewelry.
There was music, dancing, food, drinks and masti. Everybody requested Angad to sing a song for Kripa, he obliged at once. Nick handed him a guitar and he started playing it, serenading his beloved with his eyes and song, circling his blushing bride:

The wedding date had been fixed for January 7.

On New Year's Day, Angad's family did a Chunni Chadhana ceremony for Kripa. His chachi and Bua and cousins went to Nishant's house with trays bearing sweets, gifts and a gorgeous magenta lehenga set for Kripa with matching gold Kundan jewelry. They blessed Kripa, who was looking pretty in a pink sari with silver jewelry. Angad's chachi put a red dupatta on her head while other women sang songs, signifying that Kripa had been confirmed for the Khanna family as their bahu. Then Angad and Kripa exchanged rings to pledge and be betrothed to each other.

Two days later, Avinash Uncle arrived from California to attend the wedding, with his wife Neelam and his daughter Anjali, who was a tall-good-looking girl in her late 20s. She was yet unmarried and was working in a multi-national company as a sales executive. She had a striking resemblance to Kanan. As soon as Kripa met her in Angad's house, she started mentally matchmaking for Nishant. She hoped and prayed that Anjali would attract Nishant and vice versa and they would get hitched.

And her prayers were answered perfectly! Anjali met Nishant at his house for Kripa's Mehndi ceremony and both developed an instant attraction to each other. Perhaps her resemblance to Kanan drew Nishant's attention or perhaps her charm and personality did but he was quite smitten with her at first sight. And Anjali was floored by Nishant's gentlemanly behavior and khatirdaari of all his guests. Kripa heaved a sigh of relief and thanked God for finding the right match for Nishant.
Kripa herself talked to Angad's aunt and uncle about a possible match….at first they were a little hesitant as Nishant was a widower with a child, but when they saw how wonderful Bua Ji and Nishant were, they agreed happily.

Kripa's Mehndi/Sangeet

Kripa looked absolutely stunning in the magenta lehenga-choli and gold kundan set given by her in-laws. Mishti wore a lime-green with blue border lehenga and Karishma and Sur looked very pretty in little red and pink lehenga sets. The two little girls were very excited to see all that dressing-up and ceremonies going on. Prateek was running around, looking handsome in a dark sherwani. He was rather surprised and amazed to see Mama so decked up and all the people surrounding his mother!

The mehendi lady arrived and Kripa sat down on a red mattress in Bua Ji's living room to get her bridegroom's name painted on her hands, embedded in the intricate designs of henna!
Sur sat very close to her, gazing with fascination at her beautiful Mama in all that finery and the mehendi being applied on her hands and feet. Sur finally asked: Mama, aap kya PLINCESS Oh?
Kripa laughed: Haan… kyunki meri gudiya, tum toh princess ho aur main tumhari Mama hoon, isliye main bhi Princess hoon.

Sur was delighted: Mama, mujhey bhi lagana hai….she demanded to put on mehendi.
Kripa requested the mehendi artist to apply tiny designs on Sur's and Karishma's hands too. But unfortunately they immediately rubbed the mehendi off on their pretty dresses and had to wash off their hands. Mishti got mehendi applied on her hands with Kartik's name hidden in it. Naina had also come with gifts for Kripa, Angad and her grandson, and she got mehendi applied too! Bua was happily smiling and looking excited in a white and gold embroidered sari. She was the perfect hostess, greeting guests and bridegroom party.

When Angad arrived later with his relatives, Prateek jumped up into his arms with a shout: DADDYYY!
Main bhi shadi karoonga, he demanded.
Angad laughed loudly: Haan beta, zaroor, chalo tumharey liye bhi ek gudiya dhoondtey hain"
Nahin, main Mama se shadi karoonga" Prateek demanded.
Sorry, Kid, Angad chuckled, Mama is already taken…..Mama toh Daddy ki hai …lekin main tumharey liye bilkul Mama jaisi ek dhoondkar laaoonga, Okay?
Prateek was satisfied and he asked for his chocolate, which he got of course.

Angad was looking like a Prince in a black embroidered sherwani with red scarf. He looked rather hungrily at Kripa sitting there so beautiful and demure in her magenta dress. Their eyes met and exchanged messages of love and desire. She looked at her handsome prince and blushed prettily. His eyes danced with mirth, understanding her equal passion for him.
The mehendi artist was painting Kripa's feet now and he wished he could be there instead of that woman, holding her dainty feet, painting it with his own hands. He longed to touch and hold her….ab .buss ek aur raat ki doori hai, he thought with excitement.

They danced to all popular wedding songs.
They dragged in Angad, Kartik, Nishant , Nicky, and Angad's other cousins to dance too and everybody had a rocking time. Nishant and Anjali danced close to each other, stealing glances and checking each other out, Nishant in a white and gold sherwani and Anjali in a maroon lehenga. It was clear that they were very much attracted to each other and even Angad noticed this and smiled in delight. Kripa had already told him about her plans for Nishant and Anjali.

As soon as Kripa's mehendi was dry after an hour or so, Mishti dragged her to the dance floor too. Angad circled his lovely bride, looking lovingly at her, making her blush with her eyes downcast. They danced in the center of a circle while others stood around and clapped, cheering on the two love-birds!

Angad, Yaar., ek gaana ho jaye ….Kartik shouted excitedly..
Angad stared at Kripa and asked : Kya aap mera gaana sunna chahti hain? He teased her.
Kripa blushed again and nodded slightly, her head still downcast….she was suddenly feeling very shy with her Angad……perhaps because she was at last becoming his bride. Angad started singing:

Everybody started dancing surrounding Angad and Kripa dancing in the center. Angad held her hand and pulled her but she moved away in shyness, just dancing slightly. They played a little game of teasing and pulling and retreating while dancing to Angad's song.

The song and dance continued till ten at night. Huge Laddoos and shagun ke mithai, were distributed among all guests and then dinner was served in a tent outside the house.
Afterwards all of the family members gathered in the main room. It was time for the tradition of finding the beloved's name in the mehendi. Angad took her hands in his and squeezed slightly, making her blush again.. Then he peered intently into her hands…..he spread her hands flat, slowly caressing her palm with his thumb, making her shiver! He smiled knowingly at her helpless reaction to his touch. He looked for several minutes, taking his own sweet time, using this chance to caress her palm sensuously with his fingers, making her bite her lips and tremble. Then he slowly traced his name in the design…..he had found his name hidden in her mehndi .
He said softly: Mil Gayi mujhey!

Angad's family rejoiced at his find. Nick slapped him on his back: Well Done, Bro!
Mishti glared at Angad in mock anger: Iss baar tum jeet gaye, agli baar meri behen jeetegi" she challenged him.
Angad looked piercingly into Kripa's shy eyes and said in his deep voice: Main toh pehley hi apna sab kuchh haar chuka hoon tumharey behen ke paas… ab haarney ko baaki hi kya hai?

All the cousins and friends present went : OOOOHHHHH….. Angad! Kya kaha hai yaar tuney….somebody said
The look in his eyes when he said that and the onlookers's reaction made Kripa blush furiously….she snatched her hand away from Angad who was still clasping it, covered her red face with her hands, got up and ran away to the inside of the house.

Everybody laughed at her shyness, Angad got up and tried to go behind her: Kripaaaa!
Nishant and Kartik caught him from behind: Hey Hey! Kahan jaa rahey hain, Dulhey Mian! Shadi ke ek din pehley dulhan se akeley mein milna manaa hai….NOT ALLOWED! Both of them laughed at Angad's frustrated face as he swore: D**N!
He was dying to go after her and kiss her pretty pink lips. But he was helpless in their grasp.
Kartik said: Now come on, future brother-in-law! Lets go party! The night is still young!

It was just midnight and Nishant, Kartik, Nick, and his other cousins took Angad to a Night Club for his Bachelor's Night. There was a bar dancer there dancing in a skimpy costume but Angad was least interested. He just sat there drinking with a frustrated face and dreaming about Kripa in her magenta dress! Nishant, Kartik and others teased him and he just shrugged and said: Koi baat nahin, ab buss 20 ghantey baaki hai, phir koi mujhey Kripa se alag nahin kar sakega!
