Just wanted to add in my two cents...though I preferred dormancy this week after Friday
The argument that Ayat is immature or whenceforth she has fallen so hard in love with Rizwan...
I want to explain this from two different angles.
- One how she is different from Aliya and as such comes closer to like being Zain. This I have previously too equated.
- Two how Rizawan has sort of made/established her life.
When youngsters fall in love, they kinda go to crazy extent. Nothing new. But Ayat did not act crazy until her engagement was stopped. A girl like Aliya would perhaps be always do the right thing by religious teaching. But not the whole world. Many go by their heart, for their loved ones, like doing something for parents, friends. For that matter, I too would first side with my party and then try to talk sense if that means considering the opposition. The contention here is that Ayat did not get sisterly support in terms of emotional affection towards her wellbeing in perfect understanding of her resulting heartbreak, but instead she got an elderly order being given to all...to Rizwan her going to be fiance, of not only putting an end to engagement, but also an order to get married to another girl. Its offbalance already to begin with... Aliya can keep aside all her love for her loved ones and do the right thing, but there are people like Zain and Ayat too who would put their loved ones above everything and later think of what's ailing next. The approach to commitment is different. Paradigm shift.
Zain supports Rizwan because they are chaddi-buddies, langotiya yaar ...as in close friends, almost like brothers. Zain also has seen even before Aliya knew that Rizwan and Ayat were getting close. Further he knew where his friend's heart was. Aliya need not know all that, nor she needs to care, except as her husband's friend. So even from that point, Aliya should have involved Zain, this has happened with your friend...what say you, how you are gonna break it? Types. That doesnt happen.
How come then Ayat who knew Rizwan only for a short time...seems so much in love with him. Point to be noted here is that, these two are not leads and lot of their story happened behind the scenes sort. To be politically correct, Rizwaan and Ayat kicked off around the same time as Aliya and Zain post Zain accident when Ayat visited BV per Suraiya plan. Seeds of his caring for her were sown right there in their first meeting when he runs to Zain to avoid what Nafeesa-Suraiya-Shazia gang were about to do and before that how he tries to cheer up Ayat. In that visit, even Ayat seems to like his friendly attention and she too offers him napkin in one of the scene. Then...comes the lost and easy time for these two, where Rizwan visits Bhopal, gets the diary and through which he and Zain get Ayat the job for her to stay back in Mumbai. It did not end there. Pretty much they had company of each other and both kept it in decent limits.
Now one cannot ignore what was going on between the two and just because intensity was not shown like Zaya are shown. They are not leads. Period. If more time was spent on them than necessary, the same Fandom would have send feedback to PH asking to cut down their scenes.
And once the declaration done...they both are blessed and lovers by all and so much more committing themselves to each other.
So in all of this, why would Ayat want to abandon or let go a person, who was always with her, other than her Jeeju? And truthfully, since BI began, how much of taking care of Ayat have we seen from Aliya? Fine she was married and gone. So then...fact is Ayat faced difficult times after her sister left and she lived through it alone and with her parents. Her first friend was her Jeeju followed by Rizwaan.
For me its so natural to see where these three bind together and why they bind to each other.
Not always head has to decide. Even heart too can decide the right thing.
This is a fight between Head and Heart. If heart explains head, it would have helped, but Aliya's intervention did not look like heart rather it was heady opposition to another opposing heady thought.
