Same book, same section (part 2)

"Why sakha...? What made you do this to me? Aren't you aware that he didn't belong exclusively to me in any case... by your action you have further distanced him from me. Why? What did you accomplish...? I have always regarded you, loved you, so why would you be so inconsiderate towards me and bring Subhadra in between us...?" Draupadi could barely complete her sentence. She was choking and her eyes brimmed with tears. She swallowed hard and brushed away her tears..."Tears often balm our anxieties, sakha... Why is it that it's only when I cry, tremble or grieve that you seem to take notice of me... It's only then that you find time to be beside me... Am I wrong?"

Krishna burst into laughter. Then very affectionately, very tenderly, he explained, "It's not necessary to make every small matter into an issue of self-respect, sakhi. Why do you in the first place associate the episode to your self-esteem?" "How can I not...? Do I deserve a co-wife...? Have I been like any ordinary wife? I was distributed like an object without any consideration for my feelings. I mutely submitted to my circumstances and revered it as tradition... I put my day and night, happiness and sorrow on hold only to strive for my husbands' triumph... It was always their justice, their joys... I'm the wife who has travelled twelve years with five husbands in the forests... A woman who served as a maid only to uphold her husbands' prestige... and yet, uncaring of my pride and honour, these husbands brought co-wives and this time a woman who is none other than my best friend's sister... In fact, my friend masterminds the entire plan... I fail to understand your vested interest in all this, sakha. Is there some greed... and if so, what is it? If it's for the benefit of someone then who can that be...? Whenever there is suspicion in mind, sakha, it inevitably diminishes faith... I don't want empty words anymore, I want truth," concluded Draupadi firmly.

"Truth...? The truth is that Subhadra is not your co-wife. Every brother strives to get the best groom for his sister and in this entire Universe where can I find a better candidate than Parth as her husband," stated Krishna. "I'm not against you finding the best man for your sister but in this case, he happens to be my husband.

You are well aware, sakha, that I've never been insecure about my other co-wives, like Ulupi, Chitrangada or other queens... But watching Subhadra today, I'm consumed with envy... I fear that Falguni will forget me." "Sakhi, whatever happened to your vast knowledge, your wisdom, your analytical mind, your extraordinary intelligence...? Subhadra is a mere child... Are you going to compete with a child?" "She is young... beautiful... what else do men want?"

Part 3 of my post on Krishna The God Who Lived As Man
"Men want a lot more, I'm a man and I should know... Despite Satyabhama, Jambuvanti and the other queens, nobody can displace Rukmini in my heart... She is an integral part of my identity... and still Radha resides within me forever... Does this imply that I betray Rukmini...? Does it imply that I'm dishonest with my memories of Radha...?"

"That's up to you, but for me if my man is attracted to another woman, even if the attraction is merely physical, I consider it my failure. If that's what men crave for in a woman... I should be able to deliver."

"Men crave for other images in a woman too... mother, beloved, friend, minister and sometimes an intelligent opponent as well, but... Subhadra is none of these... She can only perform as a devoted wife. She is subservient, while you are dynamic..."
"I don't understand what you mean. Are you suggesting that a woman should surrender to her man and remain helpless, dependant and a doormat to obtain love from him? Are you also indicating that a woman who fights for her rights, her voice, who stands alone, who questions and dares is undeserving of her man's love...?"

"Sakhi, only a woman like you who has all the qualities of a saha-dharmachari has the right to sit on the throne. The kind of woman you are sakhi, you have the capacity of coping with various conflicts... How can any other woman match up to your magnificence and substance?"

"Sure and that's the reason all my husbands bring home Hidimba, Chitrangada, Ulupi and now Subhadra, right?"

"I'm a man and you are a woman. Nature created us to be different. There's a possibility that you may not grasp what I have to state but it's necessary for me to make an effort... It's very easy for a man to be physically drawn to a woman but it's very difficult for him to sustain this attraction... By temperament men are arrogant. They prefer women who idolise them and submit to them. Women like you arrive in the Universe once in ten thousand years. Multiple husbands become essential for you to sustain your aura and appeal. What you describe as your involuntary choice is in fact the only appropriate solution in your complex situation. The truth is that beyond a point, all your husbands are inadequate to contain your fire. If the sun blazes persistently there will be devastation on earth... Had the moon not emerged every night and soothed all living creatures, the planet would have been destroyed."

Besides to tell you the truth, I perceive no problem in this case... You are the sunlight in Parth's life... His journey is incomplete without you, Panchali. Why just Parth, all your husbands cannot imagine a life without you. You are their anchor, their blood vein that binds and connects the brothers and the Pandav family..."

"We don't forget that, sakhi... but your femininity pales in your dynamism..." "So what is my crime, my femininity or my dynamism?" "To be extraordinary is a crime... to be born ahead of time is a crime... to be aware is a crime too... To obtain something you have to submit something... that's the balance of Nature..."

Sakha Sakhi FanFic I found online
http://archiveofourown.org/works/1444117

A small part of her told her she was being childish, being petulant, and not at all like the empress she was. But she felt like a child, she felt like being petulant, and as far as everyone else was concerned, she was no longer an empress. She told her servants to leave her, told the guards to abandon their posts. They had nothing left to protect. What was the point in having guards stationed at her door when her own husbands, the Aryaputra themselves could not protect her?

Panchali had no tears left. Her chest heaved with dry sobs, breathing felt unreasonably difficult. For a single moment she remembered Kunti's arms wrapped around her, remembered how for once she had felt secure. Hadn't felt raw and exposed like she had every day since she walked out of the fire. A mother's love was something she had often read about in books, heard of from her dasi and Subhadra. Fire born children didn't have mothers, so Draupadi hadn't know what that kind of security and love felt like.

The only other person who had made her feel that way was Govind.

Govind, her friend.

Govind, to whom she had entrusted herself.

Govind, who had proved he had never left her side, despite being leagues away.

Govind.

"I'm here, Sakhi."

For a second, Draupadi wondered if she had finally lost her mind, delusion taking over due to grief. She turned toward the doors, telling herself that it was foolish to expect him to be here. The distance between Dwarka and Indraprastha was not a small one. But no, there he was, framed by the ornate doorway, shining and golden as ever.

"Govind?"

"Yes, Sakhi."

Krishnaa walked towards him, as steady as one could be after not eating or sleeping or drinking anything for two days. She almost collapsed at his feet, but he held her firmly by her shoulders.

"Govind, I --" There were no words to explain the turmoil within her. Perhaps there was no language on this planet that could help explain her roiling emotions.

Govind nodded, smiling. Had it been anyone else, even her husbands -- especially her husbands -- who smiled at her like that, she would have burned them. But this was Govind, and his smile was not patronizing or pitying.

That half-smile of his, part reassurance and part fondness, with an undercurrent of something more, simmering constantly. She had always wondered what that was, and now she understood. It was simply...everything Draupadi needed in that moment.

It was the smile that made it easier to breathe once more.

The smile that told her it was not over yet, but soon.

A smile that promised her everything she wanted, and more.

It was a smile that would stay with Yajnaseni throughout the next thirteen years.

OK, this one is just Sakha. But I found this online and had to post it.
https://www.maxdavinci.com/blog/bhakti/poke-me-kanna-one-more-time/

The gardens of Vrindavan have now been replaced by the malls and multiplexes and that's where they gopikas of today seek their Mohan. The flute has given way to cellphones and other gadgets and the definition of pure unadulterated love may never be the same. Social media seems to be the new way to reach out and keep track of everyone's updates. Facebook/Orkut and blogs have replaced the verandah discussions of the evenings. In a world wherein people update their twitter statuses even before letting their loved ones know, the Supreme Being' felt left out.

The lord got fed up and wanted to reach out and turned to social media. What if the lord had afacebook profile, who would he get poked by? Who would scribble on his wall and what would his status be? Ever wondered what would Krishna's social profile look like or the groups he would join? I have all your answers bhakta. Presenting a sneak peak of the profile of the most sought after man ever! This is what his profile looked like the day after his peace mission was rejected at Hastinapur. Those unaware with the Mahabharata may fail to comprehend, however I feel the rest of you will see it in the right spirit. It is a bit tongue in cheek and I request all my bhaktas to take it in jest.

Jai Shri Krishna, happy birthday O great one!
