Yes but Alia comes from a filmy family and has Mr KJo which Deepika didn't so not really surprising tbh. Also even though DP did have a lull towards the beginning of her career she still sustained and didn't disappear like many and now look at where she is due to her hard work, so that's admirable.

I really like both so I want them both to do well and work together, make it happen someone or even KJo aunty

Really hard to say as Alia is new. Deepika has been in the industry for over 7 years and has fans who have followed her ever since. Alia needs time to gain that level of popularity. And she needs to gain the experience that Deepika has. I like both Deepika and Alia...but I think Alia is more of a natural actress than Deepika hence I like Alia more. I think where Deepika scores over Alia...is that Deepika is better looking, mature looking lol since Alia has a baby face, and Deepika can dance. I love watching DP in her songs more than her films/acting because she has such amazing screen presence in songs..while Alia can disappoint you in some songs...examples are HSKD songs. I loved her dancing and screen presence in SOTY songs though. Alia shines more when she is acting than when she is in a song.

But I think for a newcomer...Alia is doing great for herself compared to how Deepika, PC, Bebo or Vidya were doing during the beg years of their career. She is smarter than them in terms of picking good films. I forgive Bebo and PC since at that time...good roles for heroines were not popular. And Deepika at the beg of her career didn't get as many opportunities as Alia since DP is an outsider. So I get that.

Talking about the intensity Deepika gave in RL...Alia is already doing great with her emotional scenes. And she is only 2/3 years old in the industry. Her crying scenes look so natural.

Alia coming from a filmi family means nothing. It can get her her first movie but its' her talent that is making her go ahead. Highway is not due to KJo and in my opinion is one of the best performances of recent times. That has nothing to do with KJo or her family.

Deepika had a blah beginning not because of lack of movies. She had back to back releases but it was because of her performances. But one thing that is commendable is she worked hard and hard and hard and did everything to improve herself and for that she deserves all the praises.

I feel that's the same with Alia. She is constantly pushing herself and works hard and is passionate about her movies and that shows. She also is quite smart in picking the right scripts. Her next, Shandaar, sounds awesome and if the rumors about Ayan's next are true, than that's super awesome too.

^ I understand that. But she def has better opportunities than when Deepika first started out. Am not denying Alia is talented. She is.

Lol..how it matters whether alia is from filmy family or has kjo backing...we r taking abt her performance,which we see ONSCREEN...give her credit where it is due na..😳

Even shraddha is from filmy family..but her acting looks immature when compare to Alia..IMO

Deepika started with a Farah Khan movie starring Shahrukh Khan. Alia started with two newcomers. Farah Khan + Shahrukh Khan in my opinion is a better opportunity than KJo + two newcomers. Deepika's second movie had Ranbir Kapoor who even with his second movie was a superstar. Alia's second movie had Randeep Hooda who even though we can't deny his talent, is not even close to being a superstar Ranbir already was with his second movie. Alia came out of Highway with praises due to her performance. Alia's third movie had a new director and again Arjun Kapoor who is not as big of a star as Deepika's third co-star, Akshay Kumar. Still she came out of the movie with praises for her performances while I still think CC2C is one of Deepika's worst performances. Deepika's fourth movie was directed by Imtiaz Ali and had Saif who again is a much bigger star than Varun...Alia's fourth movie is directed by a debut director and her costar is Varun and again Alia came out of the movie with praises for her performance.

Yes, Alia has KJo's backing but she is going places because of her performances. Deepika had better opportunities then Alia. Again, Deepika ROCKS now. She's def. one of the best and deserves all the praises but if you compare her starting, Alia is way ahead of the game.

I don't understand what is great in highway, I liked Aliya in 2 states. In highway Aliya's crying scene was so bad.

Aliya is doing great compared to her contemparies.

That's a personal opinon. I find Alia's performance in Highway to be one of the best of recent times. It's especially amazing seeing that Highway is only her second movie.

He was. But he was already a bigger superstar than Randeep is now. That's a fact. Highway was shown as Alia's movie mostly. She came out to the movie with flying colors. BAH was ruined for me thanks to Deepika's one-toned performance.
